I don't think there is a statute of limitation on kidnapping and murder.

Human, you may be correct and it is a waiting game.

No statute of limitations on those, but there is on other things.

We just don't know, unless someone can get the search warrant, what inspired the computer searches. Very interesting

LE put the public eye on DR which turned into him recieving numerous death threats and caused him to complain about it to 14 different state agencies. They have been hounded by the media and public perceptions for 25 years.

(RBBM)
No, the family name was never even published in MSM until the 2010 search, so it's been 4 years. Not 25. Before that, when anyone referred to him it was as "the man" or "the neighbor". When he was interviewed in 2004 on TV his face was blurred out. His own family knew, because of the searches and tests done in 2004, and possibly a few locals or anyone he and his family told.

So the question becomes was DR involved in any way and listing him as a POI was justified, however not enough evidence has come to light to prosecute him, or was he listed as a POI in a rush to find "someone" to investigate to keep media and public pressure off the Sheriff's Department?

Too much we still don't know...this many years later.

What I find odd is the unwillingness to share information that might solve the case. This many years later, why is the Sheriff's Department still a closed door? If I were them, unless I was only missing one small piece of evidence to close the case, I would be welcoming anyone who could help with open arms.

For every question there is an answer, and this is a pretty good one as to pertaining to why they cannot share info with us at this time-

Why we can't know what was in the search warrants:

"Judge Vicki Landwehr said their disclosure now "could cause future related searches to be unsuccessful and could create a substantial risk of severely hampering this ongoing investigation."

Re: Judge
Did anyone really expect the judge (or LE) to give a specific answer.

If DR dies will info be released?

Not that I am asking for or wishing that.

I just wonder when info is ever released.

I know in the murder case I was asking about for my friend, it has been 40 some years.

There were some teenage boys running from the scene who were never identified.

Perhaps LE suspects them. They would be still be alive possibly. Or perhaps in that case there are others still alive that are mentioned,

I am wondering if perhaps someday Jacob's siblings will be allowed to find out?

The silence in this case is not boding well for DR, imo.

I wonder about that.

It seems like life has gone right back to normal for him.

Working in all of the schools and community. Running. What else? It seems like people are totally accepting of him and the POI label really has no impact.

Human, I think Stearns Cnty sheriff's dept might continue to hold everything close to the vest, even if something happened to DR. I've never perceived them as being forthcoming with much information.

RBBM

So they are worried that attention directed at the POI may cause the individual to move or destroy evidence? If the activity during the initial search, the search warrant, dog and computer search was not enough to cause the POI to move or destroy evidence, I doubt a few people from a website poking around are going to cause the individual too much anxiety.

I trust in LE to guide us through this investigation.

This has gotten me to think about the search. They came prepared to dig with cadaver dogs in the fire pit.

Did the dogs hit on cadaver in the fire pit?

And then the dogs had to hit on cadaver blood on the chest /trunk and other objects.

Why did LE decide to dig in the fire pit? What evidence did they have to get a warrant for that?

Then, while searching, the dogs must have hit on the cadaver blood on the chest/trunk.

I sure wonder what the original evidence was.

They came in hard and heavy in the last search. How much did that computer and what else they've collected reveal? we don't know at this time.

Come November, there may be a new sheriff in town...hopefully he will take a fresh look at this case!

And those weren't just any ol` dogs. They were brought in from Louisiana.

I know Sanner wants this case solved as much as anyone. Maybe more detailed info or a charge of some type will be brought out before November....just in time to coincidentally seal up the re-election.

Yes! Excellent strategy...c'mon Sanner :)

I worry if a relative of DR is elected. How does that work?

Stearns county voters wouldn't allow that to happen at this time. Was the huber stint lately just a shot for sanners reelection, because to me it was odd. All imo.

The Hubers were brought up by Joy's blog from what I understood. So unless she's campaigning for Sanner, I doubt it. ;)
