So, does anyone know if Richard Bahner was officially ruled out as a suspect? The cel mate Kevin is not the same Kevin that was the car driver that turned around in DR's driveway? Does anyone know who posted those phone calls on youtube about Richard, his cel mate and his sister Diane? What is their interest in the case?

I have been wondering about Bahner myself, Jbrown. I mean, all that talk on those videos about former victims, hiding a car in the weeds, the sister not saying anything, etc. etc. really piqued my interest.

I think this Richard Bahner guy is taking this lady bondsmen for a ride (the person who recorded the conversations). If he was involved he would be able to provide more details such as where Jacob is located.
Concerning the cold spring abduction, I find it interesting that the abductor kept asking Jared if he could "recognize" him. And another thing worth noting is that the Cold Spring abduction happened on a friday (no school the next day) and the Wetterling abduction took place the day before a teachers conference (no school the next day). Personally I think LE has some real reason to suspect DR, maybe his DNA is a match but the statute of limitations that were in place back then could be preventing them from doing anything about it. I would think that if there was no DNA match there would be no reason to keep it a secret since it wouldn't be implicating anyones guilt.

What IF Jacobs DNA was known to be inside one of these buildings, by the perv., so in order to make sure the DNA is never found, the building is set on fire?
It's suspected a house and car was torched in the case of missing Ocilla beauty queen Tara Grinstead, in order to cover DNA evidence.
Just look at ALL those buildings and all the places a child could be hid inside and under those buildings or on that property. I suspect all those buildings and silo's were NOT throughtly checked the day after J. went missing.
I hope LE checks all the soil where the buildings burned, just to make sure J. wasn't buried under one of the buildings.....jmo

Didn't Ms. Grinstead also go missing on October 22 2005?? I realize there is probably no connection -- but still -- its the same date Jacob went missing, except fast forward many years.

Its BEEN 21 years yes, and people are STILL talking.... but he said, its being talked about 21 years AGO -- just strikes me as an odd way to word that... talked about 21 years AGO... as opposed to STILL being talked about NOW.. know what I mean??

Yes, he always seems to word things very oddly. His reply "the easy answer" caught my attention also. Would that be opposed to the "truthful answer??"

In this video, towards the end, when there is about 4 mins left on the clock (visible on the right hand side of the slider at at the bottom of the video)... he says they took it because it had "remnants" of blood on it (and says he is not sure of the technical jargon)... and notes it came from an aunt... etc...
What do you guys make of this as yet little discussed cedar chest with blood on it? yes, could have come from anywhere, anything... but makes me wonder!?

What I think happened is this:
-> LE didn't originally have a warrant to search the area where the cedar chest and other furniture / journal were stored.
-> I believe they got a warrant to search the farm house and garage etc once they discovered the bones or whatever in the ash pile (which I now believe are from animals).
-> I believe that the warrant they obtained for the farm house, garage etc must have indicated probable cause (because of the fact they found bones and old clothes in the ash pit)... and that the warrant issued DURING the search indicated they could search any area of the INSIDE of the home as well for anything that COULD contain evidence, of a crime, the fruits of a crime etc...
So no, I don't think they got the cedar chest on a tip -- so much as they got it due to the search of the ash pit.
Where were THESE items in 1989? Why were they not seized then? Were they checked then? Alternatively, if these had been checked then (remember his home wasn't searched til 5 days post abudction) - then is it possible the chest with blood on it (for example) had been cleaned up and didn't appear to be involved? Now though with forensics being further advanced than they were in 1989 -- perhaps they sprayed the house with luminol to make it show up with blood? But then even still, short of spraying the entire house... what made them notice blood on the chest (unless it was seen by naked eye?)
Several new things in this interview, this must be the extended version. I was surprised DR mentioned there was blood on the cedar chest, although he did say it was his aunt's and she got it from someone else. Still, kind of odd there would be blood on it.
Another odd thing in this interview, for years we've heard (from DR himself in a TV interview, and from reporters) that DR woke up when LE came to his door and then went back to bed saying he didn't want to waste time. (His own words.) Now suddenly he has a whole new story about how he saw flashlights and went outside and searched through all the out buildings?? And he also mentions the family dog waking him by barking - that's the first I've ever heard of the Rassiers having a dog! Wouldn't the dog have been barking like crazy when the masked man was grabbing Jacob off the driveway? Lots of new confusing info here.
The cedar chest was not in the house, It was in an attic over a 4 stall garage. (Along with an umbrella stand and something else they took.) The way I understood what was said in this interview and the one tonight on KSTP's 10 pm news, after they found the blood on the cedar chest was when they went back and got the warrant to search the house. IIRC, all they took from inside the house was DR's box of clippings and part of his journal. Or at least that's all they've told us about.
Just wondering if anyone should be looking into this more. Shouldn't the Wetterlings or LE be notified about this statement. I know there is a 50% chance that it could be bogus, but on the other hand there is a 50% chance this woman may have some information we need. After 21 years, I don't think we should be letting anything like this slip by too easily.

I also agree that DR is digging a bigger and bigger hole for himself. His story of the actual night keeps changing. It isn't making him look good. I think he thinks he is trying to be honest and upfront. The truth stays the same, lies change.

Also, does anyone think it is odd that he has index cards to organize his albums? It doesn't make him a kidnapper, but it makes him appear odd.
