I hate to jump to conclusions, but I'm really starting to feel that Kara's investigation is being majorly bungled. Has anyone else considered LE involvement in her dissapearance???

I know it's maybe a long shot. But it HAS crossed my mind once or twice.

Small town, small force...I am very familiar with the scenario. I wouldn't rule it out as I have seen it happen with local cops a lot. Around where I grew up, it was more the standard that they had affairs or inappropriate girlfriends on the sly.

At this point we cant rule anything out. We just need one little thing, maybe the cops missed this. Can you request a copy of the report? If we can, who would like to offer to do this. I am just pulling straws here.

They aren't going to give us a report. It is part of an open investigation.

One of us could offer to date a cop tho. >wink<

Maybe they have a female cop! LOL Mrs. Busy could "loan" him out just to find out info for us surely. She IS so generous n all!

As I see it, it is the ONLY way we are going to glean information out of the police department so we can figure this thing out and find Kara!!!!

Hey now!! there will be no loaning Mr. Busy out. I know this sounds horrible but I think LE did not take this case seriously at first based on the reactions and information they received from the family from the very beginning. There has been so much talk and speculation about why Kelsey received so much more attention then Kara did. IMO there are several reasons for this, one there was solid information to go on from the beginning, secondly family and friends did not sit around waiting for LE to take action, by the very next morning hundreds of people were gathered offering to do whatever needed to be done. The flyers etc being put around, going door to door was not initiated by LE it was family and friends who took charge and did what needed to be done. From what I can gather Kara's family and friends didnt jump in right away they sat back and waited for LE to do their thing. Yes I think LE has bundled this but deep down I think there is so much more to this story, LE can only work with information they receive and take it from there. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying, in no way am I saying her family and friends didnt care about finding Kara, I just think they themselves weren't convinced she wasnt a runaway for various reasons.

When we find Kara...I am either going to cry or kick her @zz myself. I, of course, want it be the last one! She looks pretty scrappy tho, but I will be all for smacking her upside that teenaged head of her's if she is just out on a lark!

Just wanted you to know I sent FKK an email today. Awaiting a response.

This whole case is one big puzzle. I don't understand Kara's parents at all. I can understand them not having a clue of what to do at the beginning but now people have gone to them and told them who to contact for help and they still aren't doing anything. Fund raisers are happening and said to be happening to help find Kara. Who is going to look for her? Most of the organizations that help don't charge and they won't contact them anyway.

This kind of reminds me of Team Trenton. Having fund raisers, people donating money and they never did one search for that baby. Organizations offered to help search...they weren't interested even after LE said to go ahead. There seemed to be no interest in searching for that baby. Just like Kara's parents and the stepdad. If they sit and wait for LE to do something Kara will never be found.

I can also understand familys not wanting to search for a body but common sense tells us that it only makes sense to search for a body alive and one dead. Most familys just want to know where their loved one is and what happened. They want the person found one way or the other. Always alive of course but it doesn't always happen that way. And as we can see, a lot of familys don't let LE dictate what they should be doing. Amy, the girl from Rochester WA. who was just found...her family and friends started looking right away. Some of them found her which had to be horrible but at least she was found right away and the family can grieve for her and bury her.

I think the comment that the stepdad made about their family not being a "Leave It To Beaver" family meant that their family wasn't perfect with the kids always doing what they were supposed to do and mom in her house dress and dad always having all of the answers...no fighting, etc. Most of us don't have "Leave It To Beaver" households where everything is perfect.

Some how this just doesn't seem like a teenage runaway to me.
The phone call to her Mom that day saying she was coming home to get a book or something.
She didn't take her debit card and no money has been used from her account.
She didn't take her Ipod
She didn't take any clothing
She left a carton of cigs on her dresser.
She said to her Mom she needed a shirt or something ironed for work that night.
Her cell phone has not been used, and she couldn't be using the pay as you go kind because remember she has not used her debit card. She'd need money to that.
Just doesn't add up to a teenage runaway.
I don't suspect the stepdad only because he seems to be saying he feels bad for the situation at home.
Still think ERH might be tied to this one too. She seems to fit his age range of vics and height and body build.
The timing of him getting the truck from his neighbor right after Kara disappeared, makes me wonder. Does anyone know if he had another vehicle prior to the truck? Did he sell it or what?

Busy-I totally agree with you on this! It's so heartbreaking to see cases totally mishandled by everyone-including family. Thats what happened with my sister, and it's been 17 years now! Thats why I think it's extremely urgent that her family start doing searches, demand action from LE, and get the media involved again!

There is another missing person from Belton--Jesse Ross- male 19. He has been missing since November. Granted he was in Chicago when he disappeared (my husband was on the same Model UN trip with him). I have heard and seen more coverage about him locally than about Kara. I wonder why? It seems Jesse's attention has been at the urging of family and his friends. While I know there is no connection between the two cases I find it interesting to compare the the attempts at searching for them.
