WHY haven't the LE sat Kylr Yust down and questioned him again? He isn't an intelligent criminal, he would probably let slip a detail or something he didn't tell authorities before that could blow the case wide open.

Why aren't they doing all they can to find this precious girl? She was feisty, maybe even had an attitude and was slightly rebellious - but she deserved the time to be able to grow out of that and become a successful woman. :( ugh just saddens me so so much.

Bumping for Kara. The only good that comes of the 8th aniversary is that all the people accusing her of running away from home & deliberately hurting her family & friends have finally fallen silent.

If this is not new or allowed MOD please delete. I've never tried posting on here. That box is very telling.

Court documents obtained by NBC Action News show Kara Kopetsky filed a restraining order against her boyfriend, Kylr Yust, four days before she disappeared.

In the April 30, 2007 handwritten statement, Kara described abuse at the hands of Yust stating that he "kidnapped, restrained, one month ago choked me, December 6 had a knife and said ‘I'm going to slit your ------ throat.'"

We moved close to Belton around the time she disappeared. Seeing the signs around town is heartbreaking.

Just saw "disapperead"...how sad...
Young girl are so strong but so vulnerable

This case has always puzzled me. I still feel like it has to be connected to Kelsey Smith's murderer. The composite sketch looked just like him, and it really seemed like he had killed before. I hope her family is able to receive the justice, they truly deserve.

It's most likely the ex boyfriend. He had a pending trial against him and with her gone

It's most likely the ex boyfriend. She had a restraining order against him because he abducted and assaulted her a week prior to her disappearance. He was due in court a few days after she vanished. He also beat his former girlfriend who was pregnant and choked her to the point of unconsciousness then would hit her to revive her. He beat her so badly she lost the baby. He told that girlfriend. "He'd killed other girlfriends and knew where the were pigs who would eat bones so they'd never find the body." He also made that girlfriend watch while he killed two or three of her cats. Real sweetheart of a guy.

I've followed Kara's case for years and just watched her episode of Disappeared again last night. I did a ton of searching around the web. I can't believe there has been no progress on this case. There is a lot of information to be gleaned from the comment sections of many news articles, people claiming to know her ex and saying he is a violent, scary person who bragged about killing past girlfriends.

A recurring theme that comes up among commenting locals in Belton seems to be that it has been whispered for years that her body is located in the cement beneath a porch on a house on Chestnut Drive, where a drug dealer named "Waffles" lived. Apparently there was graffiti in the house referencing Kara's death as well. A "secret" search team went to this house with a cadaver dog, and the dog apparently signaled for human remains.

There is also speculation that the Belton police have participated in a cover-up about Kara's case because the boyfriend was friends with the Sheriff's son and the son may have been involved in the situation: http://herbertwest3rd.blogspot.ca/2009/06/kara-kopetsky.html

The police have not investigated the Chestnut Drive house, although I do not see why not. With a case nearly ten years cold, I'd think that so many rumours from Belton locals might be worth looking into. All of this MOO.

I hope this case is eventually solved. Kara was a lovely and relate-able girl and her parents seem so nice. Their other child passed a few years ago as well. This family needs some resolution.

I drive by one of her relatives house on my way home from work. They have a large sign in the yard that says 'FIND KARA KOPETSKY', Her parents also have a memorial every year in the Spring.

Most of the people I talk to about it believe her ex-boyfriend is responsible.

But as far as I know Yust had an alibi for that day and he passed a lie detector test. It's possible he didn't have anything to do with it BUT he probably knows exactly what happened to her.

KCTV: Family uncovers clue that might find missing Belton teen | May 1, 2016

The family of Kara Kopetsky, the Belton teen who went missing 9 years ago, passed out flyers today with a potential clue to reveal the whereabouts of the girl.

This is strange. After nearly a decade of investigation, how did it only come up now that she had a bracelet/watch that might help figure out what happened to her? You would think someone would have looked at that picture and figured that out much sooner. I know it was her mother who found that picture of her with the bracelet but I would like that clarified. Just to be clear, I'm not trying to accuse anybody of anything or to attack the family.

It is an interesting find all this time later. Did the mom just happen across the picture and say, "Hey, I wonder where that bracelet is? It's not in her stuff. Maybe she was wearing it on the day she went missing?" And, to propose that maybe someone kept it as a trophy rather than it still being worn by Kara? There is more to the bracelet story that we aren't privy to, IMO.

Do we know what the other child died from?

Crime Watch Daily has a 3 part series about Kara. A private detective found that Kara's ex-boyfriend has told 3 people that he killed Kara.
