Four years after disappearance, Baby Lisa’s parents remain hopeful their daughter will be found

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- This weekend marks the fourth anniversary of the disappearance of Lisa Irwin, a 10-month-old girl who has come to be known as “Baby Lisa.”

Although the national attention that once shined on this case has died down, Baby Lisa's family is still working to find their daughter and bring her home.

“You just kind of get used to living this lie… like this alternate, weird life type of thing,” said dad Jeremy Irwin.

Irwin and Baby Lisa’s mom, Deborah Bradley, have been living in what they call an alternative type of life for four years now, ever since their daughter disappeared from her crib in the middle of the night.

BBM: Yes, I guess you do...

They're STILL working to finding Lisa? How?

I don't feel one bit sorry for these 2 "parents". They KNOW what happened and I can't wait for the day that Deborah is finally arrested for the death of Lisa.

Baby Lisa brought me to websleuths, 4 years ago today. I never actually posted, I was a noob and was too scared to lol But I followed everything. I watched live streams of searches and press conferences, I joined fb groups etc. I never thought we would be here, and none the wiser to Lisa's whereabouts, 4 years later :( I'll never forget that photo, the one of Lisa looking out the glass in her leopard print dress, and those big BIG blue eyes!

Amen, sister.

I was immersed in this. I had to pull back, actually, after a while. I took a long break from posting.

Come on, D and J, let's end this lie. Fess up.

By doing media interviews once a year around the anniversary of her disappearance, saying they're still working on finding her. Oh, and by suggesting that children much older than her in a foreign country could be her.

I couldn't believe he said that, so I had to listen to the video myself. He really said that.... Unbelievable.

hard to believe its been 4 years already, lisa was the case that brought me to WS.

did JI pretty much just say they were living a lie...ive always thought it but its weird hearing it...of course he means it in a different context than i do.

I guess Jeremy is saying that "living a lie" means to continue going about your daily life without Lisa. Like a coping mechanism.

Not a very wise choice of words because some will take it as a kind of, sort of, admission of guilt.

gimme a break if he said they were living just day to day you would be all over him for not seeming like he cared enough..its like your dammed if u do and your dammed if u dont..

No, not damming anyone, just an observation and opinion over an odd choice of words.

This is JMO.

I have always wondered if this was an accidental death. Like if baby was accidentally smothered due to being in same bed. The thing that doesn't make sense with that theory though is how the other 3rd person supposedly was seen running/walking away from the home with the child. Unless he was paid to dispose of the body so someone could claim it was an abduction.

If it was an accident type of thing like that then I suppose some people panic to try to stay out of any trouble and dig themselves in deeper.

I just have a hard time thinking it was anything but an accident type of thing. The 3rd person that was allegedly seen walking/running with the child away from the home just doesn't seem to be the type of person who would take it upon themselves to do that. If that story was true then it seems he may have been payed or talked into helping someone out.

Its all so strange this case.

There is a show on that's called something like "the first 48" which means the first 48 hours. Its so true with so many cases that if LE doesn't find out in first 48 hours what happened then it is very difficult to figure out cases. I don't see how this case will ever change unless someone confesses to what happened.

Hm. Well, Websleuths have given me an entirely different perspective on this case that I'd never even considered. I'm still gonna hold on to my initial speculations on this case, but I'd never ever considered an accidental death and cover up on this one. I thought for once, the disappearance of Irwin was indeed a legitimate kidnapping as a partial result of a lack of security, drunkenness, and naivety. I wanted to take the parents' word this time around and with the witness accounts of some sort of figure carrying a baby, it felt more convincing. Still a remote possibility, but it happened, nonetheless.

I'm still holding out hope, however, and I'm glad new theories broadened my outlook on this case.

I didn't know they did age progression picture's so frequently and this current one looks nothing like the last one. imo

Also noted that the current poster says Missing and not kidnapped as the parents like to claim. imo

JMO of course but I have never seen an official poster from the center for missing & exploited children that said "kidnapped". I think it's kind of a stretch to say that standard language on a missing poster means anything.
