To understand Kansas City you have to understand that it is technically in more than one county. The majority of it is in Jackson County which is south of the Missouri River. The second largest portion of it is in Clay County which is north of the Missouri River. In general the part of Kansas City in Clay County is known as the more safer and better part of the city. North Kansas City is a separate City that is also located in Clay County.

Well, I'm mostly interested with the immediate area around the QT where she was last seen.

I'm just wondering if it's in a bad neighborhood. Is it 2 blocks from a bad neighborhood. Are their pockets of bad areas to a given direction?

Also, was she familiar with that area?

She'd been there 2 years, but that doesn't mean she was up in that area often. If she did take a wrong turn, might she end up lost long enough to find bad luck?

Also, was there a reason she maybe intended to be in one of these bad areas?

We know the GPS went off at that QT, so if she did purposefully turn it off there... it's likely she was heading in the opposite direction she came from. So that is why I was thinking North.

Still keep looking at that casino to the west...

The local NBC news affiliate's report definitely said the police have not received any tips that suggest to them someone might believe Toni is being held or had been harmed by a specific individual.

Obviously, in it, an officer is seen answering questions about the police...and indicates the police have searched for her. However, I couldn't find anywhere on the KC, MO or KC, KS police page where they asked the public to look for her. Does anyone know if they've formally registered her as a missing person or launched a public awareness campaign?

seen here:

It does look like she's registered at NamUs.gov. Does that mean the police have officially classified her as a missing person or can someone else add her there?

Good point. I see @kcpolice share a few tweets about missing Inous Revels but nothing for Toni on their feed

if it was successfully sent then yes, it would be received by the carrier and held for delivery when the phone next pinged a tower.

Thinking that maybe just maybe the phone was placed in airplane mode after that last text she received at 4:50ish(?)

Thank you! I was hoping there was a clearer one. I remember seeing a pic where the phone was not tilted and I thought it was clearer, but I cannot find it now.

You are right, there is a clear one. It was in a video clip but I can't seem to find it

I've looked for a clearer one that is the best I can find, and to me I see 9:18am *shrugs*

It's an iPhone if it didn't go through it would have a red ! next to it. It went through at 9.19am

It went thru on the friends end, doesn't mean that Toni received it. The red not sent on iPhones is a service issue with your own phone not the receivers.

(Hi, I'm new to this thread but just wanted to pop out of lurkdom to say KC is a human trafficking hub, I'm sure this has been mentioned and discussed. Going back to read.)

I know I have an iPhone and have had for several years. It went through yes, and IMHO it was read. When they haven't been read on my phone it says 'Delivered' beneath the txt until the person I sent it to reads it.

To be pedantic the police might not be calling it a txt as it is sent over iMessage

I understand it's your opinion just stating facts though. The screenshot of the friends phone shows that an earlier message was in fact READ, however the last text did not say that.

Since your an iPhone user, I am as well, you would know that the conversations closer in time where there is communication the phone won't say read because your actually having a convo. Further distance between messages is when you see those read and delivered pop ups.

I have the setting on my iphone switched so that it never turns to Read from Delivered. (Because I don't want people to expect me to text them back in meetings etc.) So it may depend on her settings as well.

And yes, you could be right about that iMessage thing not being considered a text [emoji1360]

The quotes below led me to believe they ARE involved with her insurance, but it was still difficult to access data. What do you make of this?

"Her parents also say for insurance purposes THEY had a GPS tracker on her car, but her father told FOX 4 on Wednesday that the device is no longer working." http://fox4kc.com/2017/01/18/police...ans-steps-after-traffic-stop-with-nkc-police/

Also here's another: "However, the family told 41 Action News Thursday that detectives were able to retrieve GPS information from THEIR insurance company, which they hope will be a clue to help locate their daughter." http://www.kshb.com/news/local-news...r-its-the-last-time-anyone-reportedly-saw-her

The second article goes on to quote the father as saying, "the insurance company." If it were their insurance company, I would expect him to say "our insurance company." The word "their" appears to be used by the author of the article simply to conveniently match up with "the family." Toni's father clearly does not say that in the quote.

Reporters writing articles mess this kind of thing up all the time. In order for it to be "their" insurance, they would need to be on title, would they not? In which case it should have been easy to get the location info, which they never were able to get (police got it). This is why I like to see interviews, if possible. Then you get the actual words right out of the person's mouth.

Yeah, both good points.

ETA: in my defense even though I have had an iPhone for years I rarely get txt messages or iMessages nowadays. All my friends use FB messenger :p

Hi margarita! Good to see you join here. Human trafficking has only been mentioned so far in passing, thanks for bringing it up. What do the locals know and think about this possibility?

Good points. I can see how either could be true given the possibility of two interpretations.

She appears to have an iPhone 6 Plus, by the way. Her more recent photos on Tumblr say they were taken with an iPhone 6 Plus.

Expensive phone to just ditch...
