The second article goes on to quote the father as saying, "the insurance company." If it were their insurance company, I would expect him to say "our insurance company." The word "their" appears to be used by the author of the article simply to conveniently match up with "the family." Toni's father clearly does not say that in the quote.
Reporters writing articles mess this kind of thing up all the time. In order for it to be "their" insurance, they would need to be on title, would they not? In which case it should have been easy to get the location info, which they never were able to get (police got it). This is why I like to see interviews, if possible. Then you get the actual words right out of the person's mouth.
