It is my understanding the boyfriend started a account within hours with the statement to hire a PI.
The goal was $3k, then upped to $5k and has since passed $10k
The account was turned over to her parents. I have not seen any updates on the account including intent with the money donated.
Currently there is not a reward offered. These are the facts as I know them. A quick search will show the publics distaste for the lack of transparency with the intent of the money.

I think it's rather sad how the public gets so focused on the . Like Toni did this for a few grand. It's just so unlikely.

The has been turned over to the parents. They have announced no PI will be hired while the police are working the case.

That would likely be at the request of the Police.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is the case. It seems out there but it also seems fitting and those things do happen.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Shady spot (or Shady owners places of residence and other business') raided or closed soonish.

So, I'm in KC and have been following this since day one of coverage. I have similar questions and keep hitting the wall of frustration.
Who reported her missing?
Who reported that she was "adamant" about going to QT at 31 and SWB? Who did they say actually heard her say that? I keep thinking the only reason I would be reported as "adamantly" saying I was going anywhere at that hour, at 20, is possibly that I wasn't sure where I was going and someone was helping me establish how to get there. Why else would it come up unless it's a cover story?
Who are the "friends" she was to meet at the Shady Lady? Has it been verified that this was more than "someone said she was going to meet some friends...." ?
Was the 4:53am call/text for cooperative male a follow-up "where the hell are you?" contact from Shady Lady dudes? All I heard after the "cooperative male" statement was that "D**** J**** has been cleared" from his wife. If he was the male mentioned, what did he contact her about at nearly 5am?
I've seen some questions about whether or not Toni was headed to the airport to pick someone up. Has anyone else noticed that her boss had posted on Chrome's FB that he had JUST returned from the airport with "talent" for the football game timeframe on Sunday just TWO HOURS before Toni allegedly left work. I don't know what that means. but it's interesting to me. Was someone else coming in for the $$ opportunity, or was Toni not needed at work on Sunday because there were dancers/servers recently imported and being marketed?

Like I said, so many questions.
In my own mind, English Landing Park was the first place that was too close to the QT where she was last seen to not be searched. I know some of the people Toni is connected with through music, and it was once and maybe still is a location on that scene's radar. Hoola-hoops, festivals, etc. and river access.

My first thought on hearing someone say she was "adamant" about going to a particular spot was that the person she told that to may have been relaying info on a meet up spot or helping to decide on one.

For example:
In just relaying general information I would NOT say: "man I need gas. When I leave work I'm for sure going to the gas station on the corner of first and Lincoln"

In *making plans*, I might say: "I'm not going to the place you suggested. I'd much prefer to go to the gas station on first and Lincoln. I'll be there in 10"

I just saw a tow truck in the north part of KC with lights that looked just like law enforcement. It had red and blue flashing lights on both the front and back of the cab plus lights on the grill just like law enforcement. If it would have pulled up behind me I would have thought it was law enforcement and not just a tow truck. Not saying this particular tow truck was involved but just another theroy to thank about.

My uncle was unknowingly followed from an ATM stop. They followed him around for a few hours while he ran a few errands after the ATM stop. He was murdered getting out of his car at his home for $200. Thankfully his murderers are serving life. The detectives did a fabulous job. We did not know everything they knew and we were in constant contact with them.
It is very, very possible Toni was followed and didn't even realize it.

So sorry how horrible.

I know how you feel Dr. Strangelove. I just rechecked and her Kansas license plate is still not reported as stolen. Maybe LE has another list. Scroll down to the last quote in this post. The preps in that case drove from Fairfax, California to Portland, Oregon (well over 600 miles depending on the route) and LE did not stop them for having a stolen car. GPS found them at a community dinning hall in Portland, Oregon.

I guess I just assumed it would be different since its an active and publicized missing persons case

I agree that it's easy to make a car disappear... it happens all the time where I live. But, it appears that her car hasn't been entered into the stolen vehicle data base. Some LE agencies have license plate readers that "look" for vehicles that are stolen or have been used in a crime. Maybe it's on another list somewhere. IDK.

Below is a link to a local (to me) case that was resolved quickly because the Sheriff used GPS tracking to locate the car and POIs in Oregon.

This was a high profile case. What's important to note in is that by driving out of state they and their car went un-noticed by LE and the public. It was the GPS tracking that found them.

Which is interesting, because most Kansas Citians would probably agree that the Northland is the safest part of Kansas City, by far especially Parkville (which is a suburb but a lot of people just refer to the entire metro as "KC"). Not saying crime doesnt happen there, but its generally known to be much safer. The NE is considered unsafe in a lot of areas such as Independence and the East side of Midtown. There are lots unsafe areas obviously, but those usually come to mind in terms of the unsafe areas.

Parkville was the supposed ping. A ping can happen up to 20 miles away.

I'm gonna suggest that an F for crime is not a good rating.

7 missing persons in riverside area in the past 6 months in maybe a 3 mile radius. I'd like to note that many times when you have alot of missing persons and not many murders, it often means you aren't that great at investigating missing persons. Another supporting factor of that observation is that the jennifer runnions search parties have uncovered 2 dead bodies -- likely murders -- in just a short amount of time. (because they are actually looking)

As in most cities, even a given area is not consistent in terms of crime. You could go even 3 blocks and be in a far more dangerous area.

I am basing my observations on crime maps, not my perception based on living there.

Not bashing KC, but having a hard time reconciling your perception of this area with the numbers.

I just came across a comment posted by one of Toni's friends yesterday on the FB page that there is a $2000 reward for info that brings her home. Someone replied "I saw that" That's the first I've seen an actual reward offered though.

I am sorry that happened to your uncle. You bring up a very good theory. Was there a camera on the ATM showing Toni was actually the one trying to get $? Or, was she followed by someone who thought her transaction was successful. Was the transaction unsuccessful because of insufficient funds or did someone try the wrong pin? So many unanswered questions.

Thanks Plum, I'm afraid though the more I think of her being followed still does not answer the question of where the heck she was heading in the first place.

I really wish we knew if the police officer stayed to watched or even stopped in the QT for a coffee or did he pull away immediately after following her (by default) across the street.

If the video showed someone jumping in her car or talking to her or pulling out behind her, why would police say no foul play?

For now my thought process is sticking with who knew where she was going? Someone she didn't necessarily plan to meet but knew of her plans.

I just read a article from January 31st so basically this past Tuesday and it's a pretty common article on the case however to two things really stand out and could be very telling or just insight of her personality. Forgive me if these facts were already mentioned in the past 3 threads.


First thing that stood out was that she has been working "off and on" at chrome club for 3 years as an adult club server. Since she is 20 that means it's possible that she started working at chrome club as an adult club server at only 18 meaning we don't know who she met during that time or who was watching her possibility this also shows that she is a freespirt and could have a carefree mindset which is what some people in these adult clubs prey on. Now yes I know some on here we post that being 18 is no big deal working at that club but come on you wouldn't want your child working at an adult club as an server until 4am or 12am at the age of 18,19,or even 20 for that matter so please don't act like that's an environment and 18 year old should be in. What this all means is that as I mentioned before her personality is very key in this case in terms of her being a free spirit and tad bit carefree mindset. "Off and on" means she came back and leave again and again but why is also a fair question.

Second thing that stands is that is drove pass the "shady" club where she was meeting friends and drove 6 miles north of that location maybe there was not a gas station closer but she was texting her friend everything else what not text I'm passing the place to get gas. It strongly shows it's possible she was going to meet someone and base on the fact she worked at the chrome club for 3 years who knows who that could have been. She could have been traveling to a new area to meet someone she knows which caused her to get lost trying to find gas station in between. Still driving pass shady club and going 6 miles north just don't sit well with me and opens so many questions.

This was reported in the media and is false. She moved to Kansas City in early November, 2015, and started working at Chrome soon after. Before that she lived 200 miles away. That would be quite the commute. So she only worked there just over a year.

She did not do this type of work before moving to Kansas City.

Thanks for that ace for that but still it put in question her life and mindset before moving to KC being 19 doing on 20. Makes you wonder still about past life. Also as I said i don't care if she 18,19,20 that was not the ideal environment. Thanks ace for correction.

absolutely. I just felt your comments were somewhat minimizing. I am getting the sense from the crime density maps that there are areas of KC that are every bit as dangerous as some of the worst spots in CHI. It's not evenly distributed, which was my point altogether.

But in terms of this case, I think it's fair in context of this case to say that if Toni went NW of the QT, she was in far more potential for danger than around that QT. Regardless of the rate of crime of the complete city, because we are looking at one isolated chunk.

Back in the late 80's and early to mid 90's Little Rock had a VERY bad gang problem with Bloods, Crips, the Folks, and about 15 or so other gangs taking over the streets in a large part of the city. The murder rate per capita was the highest in the country. There was even an HBO documentary made about the problem and LR gained the nick name Little LA. But city leaders and higher ups in LE refused to acknowledge the facts that local community leaders, doctors at the level 1 trauma hospitals, and a few in LE (street patrols) were telling them. Because of this it took nearly 2 decades to get the city's crime rate back in check and many, many people paid with their lives in the meantime.

I wish we had definite answers. I've seen a few posts mention that they aren't using a PI, or they are. Or they were and aren't anymore. I wish we could get definite answers, it makes this all that much harder to speculate. Hopefully in the next few days some more information will be shared.
