JMHO that was smart also. They did closing for witnesses they did cross. It would keep me as a juror paying attention, rather than the sound of one voice going on and on. Especially if that person happen to rub you wrong.

Reminder: At least a dozen of them testified to having heard #JessicaChambers say "Eric" set her on fire.

That makes me think that she hangs her entire defense on the "Eric/ Derrick/ Cedrick stories as reasonable doubt. Or at least for an appeal.

Defense Atty just told jurors that circumstantial evidence = not guilty then went on to say it is in a jury instruction. I hope the jurors remember that closing is not evidence!

Former Los Angeles County Deputy DA Walt Lewis would have a field day with that remark. In his book, "The Criminal Justice Club," Lewis demonstrates why "circumstantial evidence" is the best kind of evidence. You can order the book at Amazon.
