"(Her) disappearance brought out the best in hundreds of residents......." Interesting wording, and I am not sure what it means.
She brings out the best in people? How could her disappearance do that?
OR
The best people in the community showed up for the searches? :waitasec:

I would imagine the writer means that the situation has brought out the best response from people-- meaning that people have given their time in order to search for Sherry.

just a thought if there is a local can they tell us what main road a trucker tends to use leaving and heading towards ND. I think we all can look at the map, sleuth towns news to see if any UI have been found.

If she was taken by a sadistic person no telling what he did. Even if it is a car, we might want to check westward also.

Being and I've mentioned a few times on this forum of my experience when I was younger of almost being abducted by a car that was slowly creeping up on me. Stayed with me as I was walking. Thank God for me thinking fast and doing things in which I was able to flee.

I'm worried that if not a trucker and a person in a car, could they be fleeing up to Canada, and dumped her on some lonely stretch road before crossing over the border.

I'm sure the victim would fight with all she has, my hope and prayers are if she was abducted she is still alive and will free herself.

Please God, bring Sherry home to her family, be with her, give her your love and strength. AMEN!

On Wednesday FBI agents went back to the school where Sherry Arnold teaches math they interviewed the entire faculty. They are tracing the path she jogged before she disappeared Saturday, checking surveillance cameras. Tips from the public even have cops scrutinizing the travel plans of people who might know something anything.

“We want to know was in town, who might have possibly left town,” says Police Chief Frank Difonzo.

But with no answers to what happened to Arnold, this normally peaceful town is living in fear.

“Pepper spray we've been selling in fours and fives. People would like it the minute we get it,” says Roseanne Rains from Johnson’s Hardware.

There are seven cold case files involving missing persons in North Dakota, according to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The most recent case is linked to Bismarck in 1996.

Montana has five unsolved missing person’s cases being investigated, according to the Montana Attorney General’s Office.

There are three investigators in Sidney working on the case, Communications Officer John Doran said.

FWIW, I have an older version of the Ipod shuffle. It clips on to clothing etc. It's a strong clip and probably would stay put. The earbuds would probably come out of my ears easily, but might stay plugged into the ipod. Not sure about newer models. Will have to go look them up.

Tom Arnold, who lives in Dickinson and works as a physician, describes Sherry Arnold as athletic and well-liked. He also said she represents the kind of teacher students like to have.

Tom Arnold said officials have moved to the next stage of the investigation, which involves interrogations.

(TA is her BIL from ND)

Interrogations or interviews? The previous articles have stated that LE has been interviewing everyone Sherry works with, neighbors, etc. In my mind, interrogation has a different connotation.

That one shoe can tell allot - as I mentioned I would like to know if the lace was tied - also if tied how it was tied and if the knot was toward one side of the shoe as often a knot winds up when you do it yourself.

As a runner I would would start with a surgeon's twist to keep the lace tight before the first bow, then a couple of knots after (always at least a total of three knots)... Beside this, should be her finger prints on the shoe. I bet my wife who ran with me, doesn't know these exact details... just like (come to think of it) I don't know how she tied her shoes!

Because she ran a regular route, that's would make it easier for someone to plot against her...
I would always take my cell phone - never know when an ankle could get twisted by a stone.. be interesting to see if a history of her taking her phone could be established if she would call while running...

This is something from the Sidney Herald saying the school district was "notified of Sherry Arnold's death following notification of the family this morning at 9:30". Is this true?? I know there have been rumors flying, and this short article is written strangely in that it says "notified of her death", as opposed to "notified that she has been located" or something like that. It is the only mention I have seen.
Oh, I hope it's not true....

It also says this:

Sidney Law Enforcment and the FBI will provide a more complete announcement later today

re: interviews vs. interrogations. I think they probably mean interviews.

I believe some of the confusion we are having on the board originates with small town reporting (example: the family was going to a sporting event or she was going to the family farm -- they could be the same thing: everyone was going horseback riding at the farm; interviews vs. interrogations -- just a less accurate word choice). I don't want to characterize small town reporting as "bad" or inaccurate, but let's just say in my experience it isn't really investigative in nature. Not much reason to be. This will be a hindrance in this case.

I do not think GA was involved, especially after seeing the family video. I am in tears for Sherry's children. This is so not right. Somebody does know something, but not this family. I hope the reward flushes out some information.

I am actually wondering if anything new has come to light over the fire that occurred at the club that was supposed to open? The more I think about it, 2 events of such magnitude at the same time in such a small town -- this seems hinky. What if Sherry did see something she should not have, or there was a crime spree?

it is 1045 am there right now.. so this is breaking news... does not appear that any media outlets have gotten a hold of this news yet..

so sorry to hear this news...

Sad, but I think we all knew this was coming. Very sensitive of the school district to acknowledge this loss by canceling games and releasing students early.
