If he was born in the 20's he'd have gone to school in the 40's or 50's and Laval was definitely the only french speaking medical school in canada at the time.I'll be curious to see whether you can find a JPF in the medical journals. I tend to think that the son was close to 30, whuch was toward the upper end of the age estimate, so the father probably would have been born in the 1920s or earlier.
Laval sounds promising. There must be public records of medical degrees conferred by them, right? Those records may not be online, though. :/If he was born in the 20's he'd have gone to school in the 40's or 50's and Laval was definitely the only french speaking medical school in canada at the time.
I found JFP through medical journals, so hopefully i can find JPF. I'll try some different name combinations and see. I'm sure I can find a list of popular boys names from the 1920's. Wish me luck!
PS--There was a Jacques Fiset who was a specialist in prosthodontics and was one of the founders of the Federation of Dental Specialists of Quebec back in the early '70s. It's a longshot but perhaps worth mentioning due to our JPF's extensive dental work.If he was born in the 20's he'd have gone to school in the 40's or 50's and Laval was definitely the only french speaking medical school in canada at the time.

Unfortunately my French is not good enough to do much research online. There should be a list of graduates of Laval online, even old yearbooks would have something. Jacques Fiset sounds interesting. Have you found out anything about his family?
I should just ask my cousin. Shes a dentist, she may know more about notable dentists from Quebec
I'll try to help as much as I can in that regard. My french usnt great, but it's good enough. I will work on the Laval/doctor/dentist angle. Anyone else who speaks french is welcome to help.Unfortunately my French is not good enough to do much research online.
Sorry, that is partially my fault because of my horrible translation. It was 4 am when i read it. At first I thought it said "his first wife's 5 children", but actually, it says "from his fiest marriage his 5 children."Okay. The translation seems to say that Jacques was his wife's son. Hmm. Interesting.
I dont really think so either honestly. But, poor kid, i really do hope his family finds him. There are crime scene photos that give a better idea of what JPF looked like. Based on those other photos, I wouldn't say there was much of a resemblance.

Just throwing out theories
Both the ring and the watch were rather expensive
I wondered this too. But I suppose they may not have wanted the items to be a connection to these people (had the killer thought a family would report them missing/search for them at the time. Cash could be anybody's.How much are we talking here? It leads you to speculate that they might've had quite a bit of cash on them. Edit: Like maybe the motive was money. But why didn't the killer or killers take the expensive ring and watch?

Thanks, Dot, I will go check it out.Had previously suggested RHJ, but his thread could use a bump!
