SH's relationship with Brad seriously bothers me. I can't figure that one out to save my life.

it seems "hinky" to me. and scott had no need to be hostile about nancy in his comments. i don't even believe nancy would have said they had an olympic size pool with diving boards if it was just a kiddie pool. so, i actually think that for some reason---maybe alligning w his buddy--scott embellished making nancy look bad when there was no reason to even discuss nancy. seems strange.

they do have the ironman bond thing. both are extremely obsessed about fitness, running, etc.

i half wonder if scott on some level encouraged brad & his wife to sleep together OR if the 3 of them slept together OR ??? otherwise, there's something way strange about this

he seems amazingly calculated & clever in figuring out *SOME* of what he did (this would not include his 4:20 HT trip & his attempt to have Nancy's card swiped at LTF).

but, what on earth was he thinking when he answered the phone when Jessica called? I guess he figured if he didn't answer, she would come over & he absolutely didn't want her at the house.

which makes me think something happened at the house AND he had some important errands to run while "looking" for her.....

Right, because wasn't it stated that he never answered the phone at home? I'm sure they probably had caller ID and he could see it was JA calling. He probably did answer it to keep her from coming over.

I wanted to comment on something else that I thought was weird. Did anybody notice in the news film clip yesterday that they showed a snip from when Nancy was still considered a missing person? It showed someone opening the door at the Cooper house, (I'm assuming it was Brad), to a man asking if BC had been out searching for Nancy. You can hear the audio of the man saying, "yes". Then the man asks him where. Does BC not sound defensive when he replies to the man???

If I had a missing spouse and someone was knocking on my door I'd see them as my salvation, ya know? Someone who was trying to bring my loved one back to me.

I just thought it was odd.

Great, and now I can't find the video. I swear I saw that.

Yes, this is what I was asking about, thanks for finding it.
I can't remember what someone who responded said, but I wonder if BC has the right to know if one is put on his vehicle if he is not named a POI or suspect?

If BC has one, the LE had some tracking to follow last night.

Mom, as to GPS, this was discussed some time ago. LE does NOT need a warrant to place a GPS unit on any vehicle. The only warrant needed would be a warrant to actually monitor the vehicle while it is on private property. In other words, as long as the vehicle is on a public thoroughfare it can be legally monitored.

Somewhere i even posted the Supreme Court ruling on this issue - will go get it again so all can see the above is not smoke.

ETA

In United States v. Knotts the Supreme Court considered in 1983 whether a court order is necessary for the installation and monitoring of a bird dog tracking device in a public location. In Knotts law enforcement agents placed the tracking device inside a container of chloroform that they tracked to a methamphetamine lab. The Court ruled that the installation and monitoring of the device in a public place was not a violation of the defendant's rights, because "nothing in the Fourth Amendment prohibited the police from augmenting the sensory faculties bestowed upon them at birth with such enhancement as science and technology afforded them in this case." After Knotts it was clear that law enforcement officers do not need a court order to install or monitor that type of tracking device on a suspect's vehicle as long as it is located in a public place.
But Knotts left open the question of whether the same investigators could lawfully monitor the same device if the vehicle on which it had been installed left the public roadway and entered into private property. The Court addressed that question the following year in United States v. Karo. In that case, Drug Enforcement Administration agents obtained a court order for the installation and monitoring of a bird dog tracking device in a 50-gallon drum of ether that they tracked to a residence where they found a cocaine lab. On appeal the defendant claimed that the initial court order was invalid and that the evidence seized inside the residence was the fruit of the illegal monitoring of the device. The Supreme Court ruled that the government did not need a warrant to install and monitor the device initially, but it did need a warrant to continue to monitor the device after it entered a private residence. The Court reasoned that the "indiscriminate monitoring of property that has been withdrawn from public view would present far too serious a threat to privacy interests in the home to escape entirely some sort of Fourth Amendment oversight."

He's not.

They never are, are they?

I mean if LE can go back to the loyalty program at DSW shoes to search for purchases that match the shoe tread that matches the blood print from the Young murder - bottom line is that you have many more smart minds trying to SOLVE the case than you do that actually carry out the murder.

This is very true. LE has seen more nightmares and idjit stuff than we could ever imagine. Very tough to outsmart the good LEOs with lots of experience.

ya know, IMO Nancy may have been disappointed in the pool, and was being sarcastic when she said that about the swimming pool, and he just didn't "get" it.

It has been bothering me for sometime about Nancy's so called embellishments.

We have all come into contact with people who 'embellish' through work, socializing etc. They are the people that we avoid at all costs, that we roll our eyes as they start another tale and mutter,'here we go again' when we are stuck in a conversation with them.

Nancy seems to have had so many close friends with whom she spent a lot of time. I cannot believe that they would have remained friends for long, nor would they have stood up for her if they felt she was continually lying or exaggerating.

To her friends, she was full of life, fun and caring. NOT a liar !

I believe that sarcasm is one of the hallmarks of Canadian humour. This comment on the challenges of living south of the border was written by a Canadian living in the U.S.A.:

"Also, language: I get picked on steadily even though I've worked hard to lose the "eh". Another big [difference] is the sense of humour. Canadian humour is much more sarcastic and drier then American humour. What is funny in Canada leaves most Americans looking at you like you a fool. They sometimes take offense. I have found that once they get used to you they start to understand."

Hi, all...
I'm the one who posted on WRAL about my coworker who has the friend who went down to CPD to apply for her PI license. I had heard you all had read that and were batting some thoughts about. I have spent the last few days lurking and catching up on your chatter so I wouldn't be ignorant when I finally posted. Some very interesting and intelligent folks on here! Much better than WRAL, where the posters seem to be more "pro Brad" than actually in touch with reality. I could hardly stand it when there were actually people putting down Nancy and her family and standing up for Brad. I'm really glad to have found WS and happy to be part of the discussion.

Yesterday I went by BC's house for the first time. I work in Waverly Place and Lochmere is right behind here. I was pretty shocked not to see a white bow on the mailbox as I saw all around the neighborhood. I'm not really sure I saw white bows on the other houses in the court, actually, so I'm going back today to take a look.

Hi jmflu

Glad you stopped by. It is always good to have those who have access to the area and the goings on. As you can see, we get a bit silly at times, mainly because of the lack of news. Hope you will join us, we try to behave for the most part and we do try to use sense as well. The more "senses" the better.

I will tell you I play 20 questions, poor Zoe & Skittles can attest to that. See you later hopefully - don't be shy. :)

JMFLU!!! Hi!! So glad you finally decided to join over here!!

Thanks SleuthyGal! Hi RC! Serious and silly, I can partake in both! :)

Ok, I went by the house again on the way home. There still is NO bow on the mailbox. Actually only 2 bows in the whole court. (I wonder if some of the neighbors are afraid to put the bows out in case it is construed as "for Nancy, against Brad?" Hmm...) White beamer in the driveway. Newspaper still in the grass. All the shades closed.
