FlyerFan, Do you know anything about Steele Creek where the body was found? How big is it etc.? TIA

FlyerFan can jump in with a correction if I'm wrong, but I believe Steele Creek is the name of a suburb of Charlotte. Surely there's a creek by that name somewhere in the area, but all the articles I've read this morning said the body was found in the woods. No mention of being found in water.

It's not really a suburb of Charlotte, though it is located outside the beltway. Old Steele Creek Road is where the name comes from as most 'areas' are named after streets.
Westinghouse and Shopton Rds are traffic heavy routes off the highways, used by people driving to uptown (downtown - it's a Charlotte thing - I'm from Indy) and back. But really, the area where she was left is mostly just commercial. There is some development going on but much of it was stalled during the recession.

I'll post more later when I'm not pretending to actually work

Found location of body. On the map it is called Ed Brown Rd and is a small cut through road from Westinghouse to Shopton Rd West. I traveled on the street view and at both Westinghouse and Shopton you can see the street sign and it say Calico Crossing. You can actually travel on streetview on the road. Not sure why it is called Ed Brown Rd on map.

Sources close to the case of Charlotte teacher Bianca Tanner say her boyfriend confessed to killing her. Police have been searching for Tanner for nearly a month.

Police arrested Angelo Grayson Smith Jr Thursday morning and charged him with her murder after a body was found in Steele Creek.

When asked by reporters what he'd like to say to Tanner's family, he only said, "I'm sorry."

“I’m Sorry”: Body Thought To Be Missing Charlotte Woman Bianca Tanner Is Found; Boyfriend Charged With Murder

According to the Charlotte Observer, a body thought to be that of Bianca Tanner, the missing mother and teacher who disappeared on June 7, has been found in a wooded area in southwest Charlotte. Police shared this information during a news conference early this morning. The body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office and police said that a positive identification will be made, as the body matches the description of the missing 31-year-old. Tanner’s boyfriend, whom she shared a home with after moving from Greensboro to Charlotte, was arrested this morning and charged with first-degree murder.

So, so sad . RIP Bianca. Hopefully, through all of this, at least one woman will hear the story and get the courage to get out of an abusive situation/a woman will get the support she needs to get out.
