I am very serious. MSM has said that Nan is not a real person. By continuing to refer to Nan gives credence to the story. There is no Nan. Everyone involved has agreed. We do know that Casey has met a woman in her late 70s, early 80s on Facebook and in person. We also have been told that this senior citizen convinced an adult through detail of numerous related people, that she was someone that she is not. I am making a point and not ridiculing anyone...much.

It doesn't bother me to call her by the name Nan with which everybody is familiar ...
& knows who I am talking about & therefore no confusion. End of subject for me.

What's so infuriating about Erica's disappearance is that whatever stories the adoptive parents have told have not resulted in any clue to her whereabouts.
And not to be disrespectful to whatever of Erica's family that loves her; I don't see anything but the efforts of LE and the news media to find her, along with the public who are horrified that another child is missing under very questionable circumstances.
Now, where are we to look for Erica?

Well, in their defense, it wouldn't be rational to just start digging up the entire state, ya know? I mean, the family knows Erica's body could be anywhere. Sure, they might have a better idea than you or I, but...

I like saying "MeeMaw". I have no clue if it is an actual term for Grandma....or something created for tv shows like "Big Bang Theory". So.... to me, it implies an air of fictitiousness. So. I prefer to address the fictitious 'Nan' as MeeMaw.

That's the name of the real grandmother in the family, IIRC.

from the link you were kind enough to provide or from any other recent link containing statements by them, would you point out where anyone in any LAW ENFORCEMENT agency has "named" Carolyn as having direct knowledge concerning Erica's disappearance?

Because the Parsons have serious credibility issues PER LE and are not being truthful PER LE. In the link provided and all others I have read the ONLY people naming Carolyn are CaP, SP and their counsel, who simply provides the same inconsistent, incredible tale his clients have stuck him with defending.

in other words, NO ONE has named Carolyn as worthy of a closer look aside from those three individuals and frankly, they are not credible.

Has LE denied that Carolyn had direct knowledge about Erica's disappearance? No.

Jamie awoke one morning to find Erica gone. He asked Sandy and Casey where she was and they said they had been to Asheville and took Erica to her grandmother's residence. From this statement it seems that Erica was at the home when Jamie went to bed and was gone when he awoke in the morning.

This is one of the many discrepancies in this case that have never been clarified for us.
I asked about it earlier & was told that Jamie awoke one morning in November 2011 & Erica was gone
... but Casey said Erica left in December 2011.

The referenced material that has been oft quoted,
stated that Erica went for visit #2 around Thanksgiving.
Erica is supposed to have returned to the PARSONS family
and then went for visit #3 in December 2011.

Has LE denied that Carolyn had direct knowledge about Erica's disappearance? No.

Well gee ... there are a lot of things LE has NOT stated ... so the important question becomes ...

Has LE ever stated that Carolyn HAS direct knowledge about Erica's disappearance ?

Oh, I'm sure we have the idea that maybe some places to check would be those where the family previously lived, and maybe near some vacation spots and places the family has frequented in the past. And if we had more information we'd probably have more ideas, but we don't at this time. I'm truly hoping some of the records in the search warrants will result in more searches for Erica. In the meantime all the public can do is to keep their eyes open.
One thing is certain though, the adoptive parents are not helping, IMO.

Obviously not. The point I was making is that LE has said almost nothing. What has been said is not very specific.

Esquire, thank you, but perhaps you misunderstood my question. There is nothing in that media link (printed or video) that answers the question to the comment you made, which was:

"I have been talking about her because that is the only person who has been publicly named as having direct knowledge concerning Erica's disappearance other than Casey and Sandy Parsons."

I read the article and then listened to the 3:17 minute video again and the only reference made regarding Carolyn was that news spotted her coming out of the Rowan County Sheriff's Office (at 2:36 min) and that she didn't talk to the news people, and then at the end of video (at 3:01 min) the lady at the news station says, and I quote, "Okay, you mentioned Carolyn Parsons. On her Facebook page she says she never introduced Casey and Sandy to Nan, the woman that the parents say Erica went to live with."

And in the printed section of the news link you provided is the following quote:

"Carolyn Parsons, Erica's biological mother was spotted leaving the courthouse shortly after noon on Monday, escorted out by a deputy. Officials have not confirmed if she was on site for an interview. She didn’t speak to media. On Carolyn Parsons’ Facebook page, she says she never introduced Casey and Sandy to "Nan", the woman the parent say Erica went to live with."

Thank you,
ACR

You asked, "Can you please provide a link where you found the information that Carolyn "is the only person who has been publicly named as having direct knowledge concerning Erica's disappearance other than Casey and Sandy Parsons?"

I believe I did. Do you deny that Carolyn has publicly been named as having direct knowledge about Erica's disappearance? I think that is the fact that I've been asked to provide links to. Do you deny that reporters have asked her about her involvement in introducing "Nan" and the Parsonses?

Regarding the statement on Carolyn's Facebook page that she never introduced Casey and Sandy to "Nan", when that was first posted here, I asked how people know this. See, I am not her friend, and I do not see that on her page. grausch26 posted that he saw it on her Facebook page, and I asked if he was her friend and is that how folks are seeing her facebook page. I don't recall ever seeing an answer to that.

It's not that I am disputing she put it on there, it is just I am trying to rely on what I see and hear myself in trying to figure out what happened. I have heard through reporters and their attorney that the Parsons name Carolyn as someone with direct knowledge with Erica leaving. I saw Carolyn on camera being asked that question and she responds by saying Irene Goodman has been dead for 5 years. I have not heard her directly say the Parsons are lying, I had nothing to do with introducing them to a person with whom Erica went to live. I'd like to see her exact words on Facebook.

So, how do I see her Facebook page?

We have a relative that goes by "Mema". It's like Grandma or Nana, just less common.

I get that- I guess, in my mind, I'd rather leave it at Nan in this situation, on this thread, just on the off chance that Meemaw (Parsons? Goodman?) or other decent family ever ends up here... stranger things have happened. :)

hoping I make sense.

wasn't it within the context of the media article?

as for social media: we cannot link to her page.

This is old news, really. I'm surprised you haven't heard about this. But here is recent article. It is also discussed in the links I provided about Carolyn meeting with investigators.

Watch the video you linked to, to the end, around the 3:00 mark.

Also the article states:
"On Carolyn Parsons’ Facebook page, she says she never introduced Casey and Sandy to "Nan", the woman the parent say Erica went to live with."

It does occur to me that some of the adoptive parents former neighbors might remember changes in the landscape while the family lived there.

Hey those in NC ... about 30 minutes ago channel 14 tv announced
an update on the hearing coming up soon ... anybody catch what it said ?

how do we know?

We know from MSM. My hope is to eliminate the name because MSM has said the Nan character is a trickster, thus feel free to refer to her however you want if needed, because MSM says we can.

It still does not mean she truly does have direct knowledge about Erica's disappearance, though. All it means is she has been accused of having knowledge by the Parsons. Big difference.
