FTR as I mentioned last night, I think I’ve done a complete 360 and now lean towards a random and opportunistic crime. MOO.

ETA:

FBI “there is no indication Hania knew her abductor” (at this time).
(Sorry no link, by memory iirc moo)

——

If he had been stalking her, maybe there would be more of an indication of this? People seeing him hanging around, etc? SM evidence, etc?

Again he would have to known she would be there at that time. There is no way he would know that unless he had seen her before which IS likely IF he has ties to the area, but again the carjacking and the “walking “...I think he was a bad guy out there looking for trouble and he took an opportunity as soon as it presented himself, moo. The carjacking MO is a big red flag for me.

Disorganized, opportunistic offender. With a rap sheet. Moo.
Relative to people hanging around, etc:

SUV found in Lumberton, but teen still missing. FBI seeks to ID person on video.
“It was strange because their car wasn’t at the bus stop,” MP said. “We usually leave the kids at the bus stop, and we know who else is there to leave their kids.”

MP, who has been a resident in the mobile park for four years, said she and her family live in fear. A few homes down the street from her, a young man was stabbed recently, she said. She also said other residents have been assaulted in the mobile home park and that some homes have been broken into while the residents were at work.

It’s normal to see non-residents walking through the neighborhood at night, MP added.

CC, 20, a resident and maintenance worker at the mobile home park, said the streetlights throughout the park are not bright. He said most of the homes that get broken into are in the back of the park, where it’s not well lit.

“I try to stay in the house when it gets close to dark time,” CC said.

“Tips from the public led investigators Thursday to the stolen Ford Expedition, which was found in the brush on Quincey Drive in Lumberton, about 8.5 miles south of the family’s home in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park.”

So it’s 8.5 miles? I thought I read 6 upstream?

Additional reward is offered as officials press for more information about kidnapped teen

Ok here’s (sadly) something new I’ve never searched for, “common disposal methods of gang members”. I’ll let you know if I find anything.

Also, could be a streetguy but not necessarily in a gang, so to speak, moo.

Is there any map of which mobile home she was in and in front of? I'm only wondering about this walking suspect and a crime of random opportunity...how far into the mobile home park would he have had to walk in order to stumble upon this girl and this car? Would anyone else have noticed him walking there? Would he be wandering around without an intention and decide to walk around a mobile home park early in the morning?

they switch vehicles and you don't know what you are looking for on a video.
JMO from watching the helicopter video of the dog... The dog was dragging the handler to the clearing area along the woods and it looked to me like the dog was quite certain about where he wanted to go. Then the dog stopped there and showed interest in multiple spots for a long time, kind of circling around. The handler does something with the dog, and then they walk on a broad path under the trees into the woods. I am relying on other posters who watched all 48 minutes stating that the dog and handler returned from the path and woods, and the dog again showed interest in the clearing area by the woodline.

We don't know if the scent sought was for Hania or the suspect/driver of the green SUV. My theory is that there was a second vehicle in that area the dog was so intetested in. Maybe the suspect (or Hania) had walked around the vehicle, maybe they went into the woods and came back out. My theory is that the suspect left in a second vehicle, most likely with Hania.

The dog and handler video is in Thread#1, page#34, poster PommyMommy, post#666. I don't know how to upload the video.

Article from 11/5 updated today:
‘Desperate’ search for kidnapped NC teen enters day 6

In an update to the case released on Saturday, FBI representatives and investigators reported that they will continue to canvass the area near where the SUV had been found on Thursday.

FBI Supervisory Resident Agent Andy Delarocha urged local residents to step forward if they had any information that could potentially assist the case moving forward.

“Someone knows this man and we need you to call us. Maybe you recognize the way he walks, his mannerisms, or maybe he will recognize himself on TV. The public was critical in the recovery of the SUV, now we need you to come through again for us. Who is the man on the video?”

Surveillance video released Thursday shows what appears to be a man wearing light colored shoes, a light-colored shirt, and a hoodie walking south on Lambeth Street, then turning North on Highway 41/Elizabethtown Highway towards the Rosewood Mobile Home Park.

The FBI released additional angles of the surveillance video Friday.

Thanks for finding that PommyMommy. I'm back to thinking the boarded up windows are due to break ins. Locals said there had been hurricane damage and speculated the boards were up because of that, but the crime described in that article seems to indicate otherwise. Did someone break into Hania's family trailer, see photos of her and decide to come back for her later? Or was it such a regular place for criminals to look for victims that he could have happened upon her while looking for something else to steal? Maybe that is why her aunt didn't want her to start the car without her? The rise in crimes? I would never feel secure there again if I lived there. :( MOO.

My understanding is that her home is the one to the left of the red/white one.

It's hard to know. I wish a reporter would ask about the boarded up windows. I wouldn't feel safe there either. I really feel for those residents. MOO

Ok, “about an hour before Hania was kidnapped”

The person appears to be a man walking south on Lambeth Street then turning left on Highway 41 about an hour before Hania was kidnapped, according to FBI investigator Andy Delarocha.“

SUV found in Lumberton, but teen still missing. FBI seeks to ID person on video.
Yes, and it's a 22 minute walk from Lambeth St. to the mobile home park. Google Maps

So, did he stop for coffee? Cigarettes? Breakfast?

What stands out to me is this:

"The foot traffic at that time of the day was actually very light, and this is actually the only individual we saw out walking at that time of day in this part of the neighborhood," said FBI Agent Andy DeLarocha, WRAL reported.

This stands out big time, thanks for posting, Pommy.

Maybe he did target her then. Idk...

So this would be how far he had to walk since he was seen walking south on Lambeth Street.
Also I can't tell how far back her trailer is, but it doesn't seem close to entrance imo

Doing some research on NC gangs and it says some have ties to Mexican drug cartels. I think it’s a long shot she was transported to Mexico, but just noting this FTR as I come across it in my research.

I think she’s most likely close to where the vehicle was found or somewhere in between the home and the vehicle found location, moo.

ETA:

What drug houses (abandoned) are around there I wonder.

LE would be looking at this. I think they know very well what type of predator they are looking for, moo.

Hmmm. There's that dang hoodie and bandanna again. Different color, of course. Baggy pants as well, but no white shoes. Noting article dated 8/29/18. MOO

I’ve never felt more confidant before on a suspect. He is a gangish-type individual with possibly a rap sheet /history that has more than SA on it, I’m tellin you. JMO.

Thanks. This answers my question about anyone noticing someone possibly walking there in early morning, though still not sure how far back her home was in the park. It seems residents are used to unknown people walking there and pretty much shut their doors to it because it's not exactly a safe neighborhood. I still think someone else driving a child to the bus stop could have noticed something. Hania was taken at a time when others would be ready to go or already going to the bus stop. Are they fearful of reporting anything because of repercussions? I don't know. Seems they live in fear anyway. jmo
