I was wondering about this yesterday:

IF the family knew the abductor, is there a chance that despite the bandana, they would still recognize him by his eyes? What I mean is, I feel like if I went anywhere with a bandana over my face, those who knew me well enough would be able to tell it’s me by my figure (short and plump haha), my eyes, and perhaps gait and voice. (They’d be like “giirrrl, whatchoo doin with that silly bandana on your face?”)

Thoughts?

No toll roads in NC except in Raleigh area. Unless something changed recently.

IMO- And this is an interesting cultural area with the Lumbee Indians, who are believed to be the descendants of the original Native Americans and the “Lost Colony”.

Do we know which school H attended?

According to officers with the Lumberton Police Department, Hania Noelia Aguilar, 13, was snatched while she was standing outside her family's home in the Rosewood Mobile Home Park located at 3525 E. Elizabethtown Road. The girl is an eighth grader at Lumberton Junior High School.

I lean towards an abduction by a pedophile for SA purposes, despite the carjacking aspect and here’s why. He did not have to force her into the vehicle. He could have just driven off.

Unless maybe he took her in case he needed a hostage (shades of Jayme Closs’ case discussions) but I doubt this, moo.

Initially I had the great hope that the perpetrator took her as a hostage just until he made his way to a safer place for himself and then would let her go.

This is such a terrifying situation and my heart goes out to Hania's family.

May beautiful Hania be found safe somewhere and soon. Very soon.

Suspects like those who has kidnapped Hania are opportunists and when they see the opportunity to strike in a blink of an eye without any warning they seize on it.

Sadly we have discussed cases where it has happened before to other children right on busy streets in broad daylight as well.

Thank God there were witnesses in her case when so often no one hears or sees anything and the child just vanishes without a trace.

Imo he wasn't there to steal the vehicle. His sole motive was kidnapping Hania. She was his intended target....not the vehicle. Imo

Often sexual pedophile deviants are always looking for prey and when they see an opportunity to strike they take it. Tragically I think it will be the case here too.

I am so worried for Hania and her safety. Imo she is with a horrible individual that wants to do grave harm against this terrified child.

God bless Hania and all who love her who are filled with agonizing worry and dread.

This sounds like a brazen attacker to me, possibly gang affiliations (bandana) and carjacking MO, as mentioned perhaps since he came out of nowhere. He would have to have known she would be there at that time—-is there any place around there to watch from the woods, etc?

I think a deep research of other similar attempted abductions is in order.

One thing I want to mention is there was an another MP in NC somewhat near this area iirc? I feel horrible but I’m drawing a blank on her name..Nicole maybe? She worked at Walmart iirc? Her father was a cop and her step mother was named as a POI. I don’t think she has been found yet but she was Native American, iirc?

Hi OBE,

What gets me about the random aspect is that he came out of nowhere presumably on foot.

Where the heck did he park his vehicle? Could he be so close that he walked over?

I’m guessing his vehicle was maybe hidden behind some trees? Idk.

It is really sad to be here still after this length of time. Really disheartening.

Come home safe Hania!

I would hope so, but in yesterday's presser I recall Chief McNeill saying it was still dark. A yellow bandanna would stand out, IMO, but not sure about eyes. We also don't know how far away the witness was. Seems they may have been far enough away to avoid being observed by the perp, which would be a really good thing considering the witness could have been in danger as well if seen. Jmo

Compiling some references for record-keeping purposes, re: time of day:

Sunrise and sunset times in City of Lumberton - Sunrise in Lumberton, NC on 11/5/18: 6:40 am ↑ (109°)

The 911 call to report Hania’s abduction was made by a neighbor when a relative ran over to get help. The call came in to the Robeson County Communications Center at 6:54 in the morning on November 5, 2018.
FBI UPDATE: Amber Alert still in effect for NC girl

Police Chief Michael McNeill:
Initial reports during the 911 call described the abductor as a black male. During the follow-up interviews, investigators determined the witness had not see the race of the abductor because he was wearing all black, including long sleeves, and a yellow bandanna over his face. And it was still dark outside when the abduction occurred.

Thank you rainynights for the response; I had missed that it was still dark.

Maybe someone who had been up all night on a drug binge? Just a thought.

Hi OBE,

You and I followed Diana Alvarez’ case intensely together (bless her heart :( ). Someone had mentioned her upstream.

Are you getting a Diana Alvarez type case vibe at all here?

I'm thinking the opposite (but still on the fence).

I think it was a carjacking with the abduction being a random crime of opportunity.

Just a couple of days ago in my neighborhood park, a woman was mugged. After the perp took her belongings, he then sexually assaulted her. It seems like he did the assault as an afterthought - just because he could - but the real objective was to rob. In other words, he would've robbed anyone who came by and not assaulted them, but took the opportunity to assault this particular victim at the spur of the moment because he could in that particular location/time, etc.

That's what I think happened in this case - the perp was on the hunt for a car. Hania just happened to be an easy victim "for the taking" so he took her.

I hate this scenario because it probably means it will be harder to find the perp.

I really want to know how the perp happened to be in that trailer court without a vehicle he could use to leave it. Why was he there?? If we know that, we can find him, imo.

Yay - they got a photo! Any indication on WHERE and when this video was taken??

At least there is some movement on the case.

Thank you for this link.

From above:

“Just months prior to Patterson's disappearance, the bodies of three women were found in Lumberton. Rhonda Jones' body was found in a trash can at 702 E. 5th St. in east Lumberton on April 18, 2017. On the same day, the body of Christina "Kristin" Bennett was found in the same vicinity, inside a home at 505 Peachtree Street. Megan Oxendine's body was found a few blocks away about six and a half weeks later on June 3, 2017.

Despite the close timeline, police say Patterson's disappearance is not related to the deaths of the other women as there are few similarities in the cases.“
