100% agree, Detector -- We have the very same brand of saw -- it's a Skil reciprocating saw -- electric. It's not super-heavy, but it does have some weight.

It would be very, very difficult to keep the saw where you wanted it to go when cutting through a femur, especially. First you have to get through the skin & fat, then the muscle. There is a lot of mass in your upper thigh. Think about it. You really could do a much better and quicker job of it if someone held the leg still (sorry about these words) so that one could hold it in place. Same for the rest of the body. And body matter spray? All over the place.

No way GH would let AH sit around while he sweated through the dismemberment. He's too worthless to do anything by himself. Plus he knew she wanted poor LA gone -- prolly more than he did -- "Get over here and help me." (I can just hear him...)

What time did he get the saw? Wasn't it like 2:30 am or something?

SO the kids would have been SLEEPING when they were cutting her up, right?

So no need for Amanda to be saved by the kids.

Kids were sleeping.

Jury, wake up!

Boodles,

Clearly 'my humble opinion'. As I have watched this trial the defense always falls apart when they get to TX. WHY? Because Amanda was in known surrounding among her kin including at least two TX men - both well versed with firearms. And one with a connection to LE. I recall the Prosecutors remarking how SAFE AMANDA should have felt when in the police car in Kinston. I contend she should have felt safe among those family members IN TEXAS. But wait --

This jury didn't meet those men, did they? Did they hear one of the men was involved with the local police? Maybe in a slight way through the mom's testimony but I am not even sure if I am remembering that right.

I think that could be a flaw.

I will disagree with some about the DEFENSE's comments about neighbors hearing the saw. Neither side said IF there were neighbors next door. The PROSECUTORS said they didn't know EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT APARTMENT. They assert something happened because of the clean up attempt. But honestly, it was the DEFENSE that claimed AMANDA was there in that apartment with those kids ALONE. So I still see it was not advantageous to bring up neighbors not being called by the prosecutors when it was AMANDA's tale that required NEIGHBORS to help bolster Amanda's claims.

I recall when I lived in apartments I could hear folks on stairs and doors closing. I could hear music coming from other apartments. I could tell you whose vehicle was parked close to my vehicle. (and everyone in our building and the next one knew when one man came and went because of his loud vehicle). Grant and Amanda were night owls to a degree because of Grant's work. Their lives were not in sync with most folks who work days and sleep nights. And they were new to the complex. All reasons the prosecutors might not find witnesses. BUT AMANDA's tale sets up an unique account and neighbors should be FOUND if that timeline she floated was real imo.

Sad but I do think that old fashioned thinking still persists to this day. I think any man who lets the outside appearance of the woman affect his judgement in court trials should be made to review what Ms Jodi Arias did to that big, strong former boyfriend of her's.

Defendant's chair lower than the others at the table, demure outfits, librarian glasses, soft girlie voice, wringing hands, fake crying, claiming blacks out during the crime because of unsubstantiated claims of prior abuse. It makes me yak that everyone doesn't see thru these charades.

The kids were always up past when young children should be sleeping! The pics in texas at midnight. hotel too she took them to feed them late at chick fila! moo

Has anyone considered that Grant used one of the bedrooms as his STUDIO. And he was a musician. So my bet is he knew how to muffle sounds.

If they don't come back today with verdict, are you all going to start getting worried?

I am already worried, but I don't think I would start really panicking unless it goes after lunch tomorrow.

Luckyme,

EXACTLY! When Becky did her closing she made such a big deal about the lateness of the hour for when Amanda was getting food. Part of it could have actually been to stay on their 'normal' routine with the boys. It could also explain why Shae was so bummed because normally those two probably slept later and her being summoned so early was ODD.

Maybe we are on the wrong track about the saw? Could it maybe be more to see if Amanda could have been able to handle the saw, herself?? Or, has that already been ruled out? This is what coming into a trial late does, sorry!

I worry some are lost in minutia??

The dismembering began Friday morning after Amanda had Sha take the kids for the day.

Yes, two unemployed people with kids who were not school-age yet. I'm sure they had strange hours. You are exactly right. They probably stayed up late, got up late.

Yes, I would have to admit based upon the hours going by and what the Jurors have asked for so far, I am now getting worried. I also want to ask what the heck they are even deliberating now.

:banghead:

Gawd only knows what happened in the apt! Neither one worked! they probally slept all day and were night owls! moo

And, don't forget in some cases the defendants always seem to have either lost a lot of weight and look too frail to be able to even commit such a crime.

The following is gross but what I would do is first cut as close as I could to the bone with a carving knife. I guess Grant's pre med class helped him with where to cut but nothing about the difference between sulfuric acid and muriatic acid unless you watch old Vincent Prince movies and can tell if you want the flesh melted off the bones you need sulfuric acid. Detector is spot on about the kick back if you don't have someone holding the item in place and like I said before the blade will gum up. This isn't saw dust that is dry and falls away, this is tendon and muscle which will clog the teeth and need to be cleaned frequently. I can't imagine this being a quick job. Even with two people it took time. Sha was told they needed more time, to keep the kids longer. That makes sense to me.

OH!!!! Monkey Joes was the baby sitter!!!!!! I have never heard of anything so absurd! They took those kids there everyday for free!!!!! That place is a nightmare!!!! moo It wasnt ur local play group!!!!

I completely agree, Cuckoo. I've become so cynical after watching these trials. My daughter told me a story the other day about a new co-worker. She excitedly told me he was in the Air Force, he did this and that, and he was just amazing! I just looked at her and said "Be careful, none of that may be true, you know"...I was then called "so negative" :floorlaugh: True, but I always say "Trust, but for the love of Mary, Verify!"
