Considering the facts of the case, I think an M2 conviction was the most any jury would reasonably agree on. I think the verdict is a victory for the state and for LA's family; AH has been called out for her disgusting, horrendous crimes, and she is being punished.
For me, at least, this was not an open-and-shut M1 case. IMO, an M1 verdict would have require some degree of speculation, and we have seen whole juries unwilling to apply even the most basic conjecture - even when it seemed reasonable and imparative to do so.
She will not do much time, but it should be some compensation that her life is ruined; when she's released she'll have a serious criminal record, no money, substantial debt, and no recent work history. She's also lost her baby, will have missed 15 years of Sha's life, appears to be alienated from much of her family, and will likely be reviled by whatever community she enters upon release. AH life sucks now. AH life is going to suck later.

Thank you for putting this is perspective.

I do think the Foreman and the others did the right thing by not leaving it to a mistrial - like the Foreman said, what if that jury had returned a hung jury or even Not Guilty??!!! AGGHHH!!!! Then there would be no more chances and she would be out walking as a free woman. OMG, the horrors of that!

Well, SleuthPeeps, MzAmanda is official now. Her NCDPS rec has her at NCCI here in Raleigh, as I thought she would be; she is in Admin. Seg since she is new, and her projected release date is 04/21/27. That date is about the best she can hope for getting out of Hotel :jail: Carolina.

She's in there -- we're not!! And will her mom-in-law visit with her daughter? It's about 110 miles from Kinston to Raleigh with good roads.

Again, we don't/won't know and we don't care.

Good morning, Sleuthers. don't know if this has been discussed, but it's been plaguing me. Does anyone recall if the ME gave a reason or theory as to why the hyoid bone & esophagus & neck tissues of LA (God love her) were discovered by x-ray intermingled with other, unrelated tissues? Is this something that GH could have done, or was it an "error" on the part of the TX ME? Thanks.

So, Granti baby has been a bad boy recently, he just cant seem to behave anywhere, seems as though he had a bad hair ? day on March 6th.

You know the sad part is, that he may have done enough that day just to be put in seg, he has nothing to lose anymore, he's doing life, he may just like that solitude he gets away from everyone in there.
My husband worked in corrections for 22 years and a lot of them would do things just to go to seg. I can actually envision him doing that . He's SO DA$%N cocky!!

I have been thinking about AH since seeing the commercial air for the Stepford Wives on ID Discovery too! Amanda probably could have gotten herself a little job on there had she not murdered somebody instead.

Sheriff Donnie Harrison told WRAL-TV that one officer resigned March 3 after an internal investigation concluded she violated the office fraternization policy. That policy prohibits jail employees from having any kind of relationship with inmates outside the scope of their jobs.

But then it states this?

Harrison says he found no evidence that employees were having sex with inmates.
