It looks like one hearing is in District Court and the other is in Superior Court -- that may account for the discrepancy. JMO

There is always a hearing re the prosecution's Death Penalty position on a case -- the defense must be told asap so that they can make sure the defense team (and the judge as well, in some, if not all, states) is death-penalty qualified. It also serves warning that the DP is on the table so that the defense can have time to defend that part of the proceedings.

Hmmm, interesting.

She's, IMO, obviously running scared. If Kimrey was doing the "chloroform thing" coupled with abuse in times prior to Mariah's death, which I feel strongly that he was, I can't imagine her mother not noticing signs of it during bath time or simply changing her clothes. Mariah may have complained of hurting "down there" as well, and she may well have had bleeding. SMH

This whole damm thing just takes my breath away.
 
Haven’t checked in in a while. Any hope for KH being arrested and charged with anything. Ugh. I hope so!!

Apologizing for the teeny print, but it would burst the margins if it were in the "normal" size. I also had to chop the rightmost column completely -- it was "Citation Number" where there were no numbers for the first two charges, and the 3rd was "7G60516" -- obviously, it's like a traffic ticket number.
 
If only this sweet girl could see all the wonderful people who care for her. Too bad, the ones responsible for her well being, only cared about themselves. May justice be served for this angel.

I agree and it's just heartbreaking for these little ones. I will always remember those cute photos of her in her little Princess car. Poor baby, :(
Even though the perp. is caught, Mariah has been robbed of her life in the worst possible way.

I agree. I can't fathom how she can be cooperating with investigation if she proposes to know nothing and was sleeping. To cooperate you have to have valuable information to help with the investigation, :thinking:
 
With the death penalty on the table, DA has to believe that they have plenty of evidence to justify the death penalty. IMO, since it is obvious that he did not confess, ie., the death penalty considered, then someone else has provided the evidence needed to go for the death penalty. Except for the children, AFAIK, there was only one other adult in the home. This adult claimed to have been asleep and knows nothing. IMO, that claim has been proven to be an absolute lie due to the evidence pointing to her being the source of information needed to go for the death penalty, therefore, she knew exactly what was going on and if she isn't charged, I will implode.
 
It's been awhile since this thread was extremely active, so this may have already been discussed and I perhaps forgot about it. But, in regards to the mother, Kristy: Did anyone listen to the Nancy Grace podcast from right after it was announced that chloroform toxicity was the COD?

At just after the 34:10 mark, the reporter mentions that on one of the early days of the investigation, he happened to be standing next to the wife of the preacher from the church that Kristy & her family attended. (Ann Edwards I believe was the name) She apparently regularly drove Mariah to her specialist/doctor appointments for her legs in Chapel Hill. Alone. Just her and Mariah. (Reporter mentioned it was a 3 hour drive, my Google maps said quite a bit longer?)
She went on to say she had never been allowed inside the home; That Earl would always meet her at the front door and hand off Mariah.

Kristy wasn't working...why in the world did she not take Mariah herself or at least attend with the Pastor's wife? Not even once? Really? That information just highlighted her lack of ability to fulfill basic motherhood responsibilities & care.

And not letting the woman in the home, ever? Not only does that seem suspicious (what are you hiding in that single wide that you don't want seen? How unclean are the conditions?)
The fact they didn't even warmly welcome this woman who was doing them an enormous favor into their home shows how they both lacked tact, basic hosting etiquette, and the ability to recognize situations where they should express gratitude.

Her actions (and lack there of) are the reason the term trailer trash still exists in 2018. She meets all stereotypical criteria, thus giving good people (who happen to also live in trailers) a really unfair representation.

Maybe one of the children has talked to them about things happening to Mariah. If not, it must be someone else outside the home knowing, hearing or seeing something that cannot be disputed. In addition, I would think the autopsy must have some very incriminating evidence -- long term sexual abuse, very damaged tissues or scars, etc., etc., that would make the prosecutors confident of a DP penalty verdict.
