Saw someone else post about this and had to see for myself if it came up when googled. It did. The story doesn't match the Headline.
Everything matches up in the article except the part that a body was found... wonder if it’s a cached headline that was since edited due to a premature release?!

He is smart. He knows what the media is trying to do. They (media) want to find the parents so they can harass them and try to get Nancy Grace style sound bites. The media can't be trusted in these types of cases, they're not looking for truth or facts, they just want something juicy to whip up the hoards of people looking to blame someone. I'm sure he knows where the parents are but thankfully he won't feed them to the media sharks.
Is there anyway to view the cached version? I don't know how to do it on my iPad and my laptop is broken. When manually entering that URL
http://www.fayobserver.com/news/20171129/authorities-have-found-body-near-area-of-mariah-woods-disappearance
it redirects to :
http://www.fayobserver.com/news/20171129/latest-authorities-ask-residents-to-search-their-properties-for-mariah
When you alter any part of the URL, it results in a page not found.
This means that the page did exist and they changed the content without removing the original URL.
HMMM.....
That's precisely how I took it. I thought the reporters were pressing to see if mom and bf might be in police custody or at least being questioned, but he demurred and said he didn't know where they were. Which, as you say, could easily be the truth in a literal sense even if there is more he is not telling (e.g. "I personally don't know exactly where they are at this moment but I know we're talking to them and I don't want to tell you that"). It seemed more evasive to me than implying that the police as a whole have no idea where they have gone.
Granted, my grandmother always told me to say "I don't know" when I was asked a question I didn't want to answer. She said, "That way, you can add on '... if I want to tell you or not' in your mind and you aren't lying!" So my view of that wording is a little colored. Ha!

I didn't go to the dentist at all until I was 7 or 8 when I started losing teeth - and I know that many kids that live in my town currently do the same. I agree with this post. She just turned 3, and while she should have been to the dentist by now, I'd be very surprised to find out she has been. JMO

Jacksonville - Latest update from on missing toddler:
Updated at 1:20 p.m.
Authorities have congregated around a body of water in the area Mariah Woods went missing.
Onslow County Emergency Services, Onslow County Sheriff's Office, an ambulance and Naval Criminal Investigative Services are searching Troubledson Creek along High Hill Road.
Update at 11 a.m.:
While law enforcement hasn’t released any updated information since about 8 a.m., there is additional activity surrounding the home where 3-year-old Mariah Woods was last seen.
An Onslow County Sheriff’s Office crime scene investigator wearing a hazmat suit crawled underneath Mariah’s home and the home next door, but nothing was brought out from underneath.
Two law endorsement officers then walked door to door knocking and talking to neighbors.
Around 11 a.m., OCSO opened up and checked underneath a third house two doors down from Mariah’s.
At this time we do not have information on what the OCSO is looking for.

Updated at 8 a.m.:
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office confirmed this morning that they will soon be asking for the public’s help searching for missing 3-year-old Mariah Woods.
It’s now been more than 48 hours since Mariah was reported missing when her mother, Kristy Woods, said she wasn’t in her bed Monday morning and an Amber Alert went out.
Onslow Sheriff Hans Miller was asked at a press conference Tuesday afternoon if people would be able to conduct searches to help and at that time no options were available other than feeding and caffeinating the law enforcement officers, firemen, and military members who had boots on the ground or were flying helicopters searching for Mariah.
Wednesday morning, Miller confirmed that they’d soon be widening the search area and would be asking for people to help conduct those searches.
Miller said there were dogs on the way to help with the search, but would not elaborate on what kind of dogs.
“I don’t want to go there,” Miller said.
A press conference will be held again today, Miller said, the time and place of which is not yet known.

So strange that they would title the update page that way
What does this mean? Press was ready to announce and LE asked them to hold off? I noticed that the local reporter that I'm following on twitter hasn't had an many updates this afternoon.
In my heart I know that sweet little girl is gone, I just feel it and I think she was betrayed by those that should have protected her.
Wednesday evening, investigators were focused on the shed in the back of the home where 3-year-old Mariah Woods lived in Jacksonville.
The shift in attention came after officials held a press conference where Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller said no piece of information is too small.
If they plan a later presser they must be about to give up something??? IMO
Wish they'd hurry up and find that precious little girl. I know they're doing everything they can...
I can't find any Troubledson Creek in NC. There's one in WA. I also tried Troublesome Creek, and got nothing in NC
Sorry, this was in response the the searched articles above that say she was found. I didn't do the quotes right
