Wish I had that answer for you but I don't have a clue. The cases heard in front of the judge today is ~249 and no clue when AD would be in front of the judge. Someone from the media would have to sit there all day waiting and waiting.

Since there was no coverage of MAM from yesterday, that I can find, chances are perhaps the same will happen with AD.

The death of Shaniya rocketed off the charts only to drop to a snail's run.[/QUOTE]

It's maddening.......

The local paper here comes out on Wed, but yesterday it poured raining all day and my copy was ruined by the time I got it :( I will try to get another copy today. It's usually pretty useless as far as actual news reporting though. As for the local tv news- yes it seems like Shaniya's case has dropped out of sight. :(

Do you live in the area? It is frustrating when court appearances are so quiet. I was hoping for video like the court allowed when both Davis and McNeill were arraigned.

I haven't been keeping up with the Somer Thompson case, but as I recall shortly after her daughter died, she went on TV and warned the killer that he WOULD be caught. She seemed to be in the anger phase, which seems pretty normal. The case with Marc Klass's daughter happened many years ago, but as I recall he wasn't advocating forgiveness so soon after his daughter's death. His reaction also seems normal to me.

BL's reaction seems abnormal to me, because there is no anger and he doesn't even seem that upset about what happened to his daughter. I am not saying he should be raging like a lunatic, but he seems too eager to forgive and accept what happened to Shaniya.

Before BL or anyone else works thru any anger to find forgiveness, it generally requires acknowledging what if anything there is to forgive :waitasec: To know what it is one is indeed forgiving. Now, perhaps BL feels it's still too soon, before they're convicted, to say w certainty what the crimes are against his daughter. But that is why it's so puzzling IMO, that afaik to date he's thus far avoided really acknowledging what it is he's forgiven--yet seems to have already managed to do so.

Yes I live in the area. The local print and tv media appears to have become silent about the court info. I'm hoping maybe it will gear up again next week with the additional charges.

*gentle smile* I expect that anyone who would like to enter into a religious debate with me will soon discover that it is actually rather dull to debate oneself. I've been posting online long enough that I outright refuse to engage in any religious debate, and my only intention in posting the religious content that I did was to clarify what I believed to be a possible misunderstanding in interpreting BL's statement regarding God's will as him blaming God.

Yes, just as my only intent is to explain why I otoh do not believe it is a misunderstanding. BL has had almost nothing to say, eg, of his own actions, nor even the despicable actions and horrific roles played by any of the other people involved in these heinous crimes--all of whom are the ones who collectively share full responsibility. Tho it would seem futile for BL to suggest otherwise, there seems to be a zealousness to skip a few steps including an assignment of any accountability nor even judging any actions themselves as wrong. A few people like myself just find that odd, that's all. JMO :)

I can't find one article online regarding MAM in court on 12/2/09. For any locals out there, is there anything in the local (hard copy) newspapers?

Hi all -- don't post much - but do read all of your posts so since I knew this figured I would respond. MAMs court date was changed when he was charged with murder:

Mario McNeill's next court appearance will be in a Cumberland County courtroom on December 9, 2009.

I actually have some very specific daffodil bulbs that were sent to me by a friend who recently lost his child, with instructions (from his child) to be planted "where I felt they would best serve their purpose when they bloomed in the Spring."

I was thinking that stop sign at the corner might work. No infractions for roadside memorials, no conflict. Just flowers in the Spring for Shaniya.

Thoughts, anyone?

Oriah: I love the idea and the meaning behind the daffodil's....representing the spirit of two children.

Thank you lbminnesota- I think that's what I will do.
The note from my friend who sent the daffodil bulbs on behalf of his child reads:

"Every Flower is a Soul Blossoming in Nature.

You probably know more than enough about planting daffodil bulbs, but if not this might help. They need to be planted about 6" deep and about 6" apart, after the ground has cooled down below 60 degrees. A little fertilizer when you plant them, and then again when they sprout will help, but they will do fine if they are never fertilized also.
I never knew a daffodil that didn't make a pretty picture. These ones will be beautiful."

I have 6 bulbs. Maybe we can help stop the extra 4 from not blooming.

O.K. I think flowers that bloom every year,is such a wonderful idea. I have deep personal reasons to "not like" all the crosses, and bears and items placed at the scene of a death.
The memorial means nothing to strangers passing by, except that they are made aware a death happened at that spot, no name,no reason ...and for people that actually knew and loved the person..you need no flowers, crosses, bears, flags to always remember where your loved one took their last breath!!
I love the idea of beautiful flowers growing in the spot and I think the idea "since it was classed as a dumping ground" that someone "adopt" that section of road and have a sign with Shanyia Davis"s name or fight against sex trafficking would be a wonderful idea.
I think it is so nice of you to care enough to want to make a difference, and to not let this little girl be forgotten.God Bless you and your efforts.

Oriah: You have a kind and caring soul.

I wanted to ask you your take on the media around Fayetteville. Do you think LE has asked them to stay hush on this case as they investigate?

In high profile cases, we often see background stories written with interviews of people outside of the inner circle. Maybe no one wants to have their name associated with the case or the media is purposely silent.

Also wonder if the court dates of AD and MAM have changed and not published for their protection.

lbminnesota-

Thank you.

Yes I do think (MOO) that there has been a bit of a hushed situation in the event that more evidence, people, charges, jurisdiction, etc may come out of the situation- but also for the protection of the people charged. At the same time...this is the deep South- and I can also see the undercurrents of 'allowing the situation to take care of itself' occuring. Many people (both inside and outside of prison) feel that what should happen in this kind of case is to let let the public 'take care of it.' If you understand my point?

Honestly, I'm not sure what is going on. IMHO, both sides of this conflict are struggling with how to handle this.

I am sorry if this has been asked, but do you happen to know anything about the "be on the lookout" bulletin for the 60 year old man driving the Toyota truck? We heard that once only, and than nothing. Nothing to tell us to disregard or cancel the lookout. Just thought you might have heard something about this...

TIA Hi all...1st post, but love the forum!

Why no news of today's court proceedings?? Seems very strange!

Kiki, I love your posts and I am not arguing at all. BUT...
He does not have to acknowledge it to the public....in order to have a full range of emotions...
He can acknowledge it in the family... and still give the public NATHA!..
What I am have been saying from the start is Rage comes before Sadness. so to forgive you have to feel a full range of your emotions....We saw a second of rage in the first video where he had to be held up by some friends and it lasted less then a second because he went right into his God sermon...:waitasec:
I have no idea how he can do that unless he is totally a controlled man.
I mean control guide all of hes moves. This guy will not let us see his pain too much, NOP....His control is the both his weakness and his strength...all else is hidden.
I say this because I used to counsel people....

I too would love to see him act much differently...but I do not think he knows how.
