Thanks for finding this video G. It's the daughter of the woman who first heard the cries at her mailbox. She said the baby was scraped and bruised but she thinks she is going to be ok. She is a nurse and she and her mom took turns holding the baby until EMS arrived. I hope baby Shaylie makes a full recovery.

It was difficult to hear, but I think the judge asked if she understood she had the right to remain silent and asked if she understood the charges. She waived her right to a court appointed attorney. She has hired her own attorney. That was all I caught.

So Mom was dropped off in Hendersonville, without baby?

What did they do -- physically throw her out of the car?? That's what they would have had to do with me or many other mothers, IMO. Never. Not without my baby.

This is the most shocking story. You look at moms facebook page and it seems so normal, WTH?! She's a nurse and Dad is a doctor??!! It appears they have an older child as well. Something went terribly wrong with this mom.

There is so much I would like to say....but I will only say this....
Great news that we don't have to wait 5 days to find a car. If this is real, there has to be evidence of other people in that car.....

When I looked at her FB before we knew mom was arrested, I noticed both mom and husband are slim people, and immediately thought 'uh-oh' because she described the carjackers as slim people. I've noticed when people make up stories there's always familiarity in it. Her 'escaping' without the baby sat wrong with me too. Then I was annoyed with myself for being so cynical.... ugh. It sounds so cliche but WHAT is this world coming to....

As members here we've all agreed to work with the facts as they come out and to respect the victims - until we learn otherwise. That's what sets us apart from other forums IMO. So whaddya gonna do?

I really, really wanted this to be different from the 99%. But it followed a familiar pattern that we've all seen too many times before.

When deputies found the vehicle abandoned along Rhodes Mountain Road, they deployed two K-9 tracking teams but said they picked up no indication that anyone had been in the area around the vehicle.

Deputies said while interviewing Madden, she provided enough information for deputies to have probably cause to charge her with attempted murder.

Somehow I just found out about this case and came here to see if a thread was here. Of course it was.
It is a miracle that this baby survived.

What makes a difference to me is this postpartum? Or a kidnapping? Not much of a difference in 7 months or 7 weeks, but still a big difference.

7 weeks is about right for post-partum.
PPD symptoms can really vary from one person to another and/or from one day to another, as so many of us know.

Unless you've got a lot of help and support, and often, even if you do, you're dog-tired; you'd pay good money for a 2-hr nap; you're sore, sore, sore; you're afraid your baby is not getting enuff milk; you're thinking the sky could fall in on you tomorrow, etc., etc. With some folks, PPD can be very tough or even dangerous for mother and/or child; with others, all a mom needs is a good 2-hour cry.
