Could it have been a robbery seeing how his iphone is missing?
I think that's possible, although if it were something closer to home, so to speak, the phone would be ditched in order to cover any trail of communication.
I'm not sure where I stand on this one yet. I'm glad his body was found relatively soon, so the investigation can focus on finding his killer(s). The warning issued by LE could very well be an effort to make the perp(s) feel comfortable. I'm not accusing anyone, but I can tell you that living in the city in the midst of 5 colleges/universities, we have seen more than our share of drunken fights. One time three guys at a party house on our block (which has thank God been turned into a single family dwelling) were kicking the whit out of a guy who was totally drunk, lying on the ground, and saying "I don't want to fight you." Things get out of hand. Someone could get killed easy.
Or they were walking, ran into the wrong group of guys, and things got out of hand. Robbery gone wrong? Very well could be. Today in St Paul there were 11,000 extra people in town for a 1:00 football game between St Thomas and st Johns universities--it's almost 11 and you can't walk a block in my neighborhood without seeing a stumbling college kid or hearing them party-drunken azzholes will pick fights if you're wearing red instead of purple, or vice versa. And then there are the little thugs who relish the opportunity to rob and assault drunken victims to steal their phone and their cash.
And I wouldn't discount a gang involvement either. And by gangs, I don't mean organized Crips and Bloods type thing, I mean young boy street thugs wanna be gang members who rob and physically/sexually assault drunken strangers.
I don't like the feelings I get re: the guy whose house Tommy was at, but that's just my feelings.
Where did that all leave me? Nowhere. Tommy seemed to have a decent road ahead of him and a lot of people who loved him. I hope justice is swift.
