Is it possible that he was using them as a “kept man” type opposite sugar daddy type situation? Seems like he was out to scam people from the time he could...

That would be my guess.

A new article. http://www.omaha.com/news/crime/aub...cle_9f4680c4-e78b-11e7-81c8-2f2e3f2f8c27.html

Some snippets ...

Aubrey Trail, a person of interest in the disappearance and death of Sydney Loofe, said he’s given three statements to the FBI, but that “having information about a case doesn’t necessarily mean you’re guilty.”

“Did I have information? Yes, I did. Did that mean I killed someone? No, it does not,” Trail said during three phone calls Friday from the Saline County Jail to The World-Herald.

Trail, a native of Tennessee, said he met Boswell, a native of Leon, Iowa, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He said they have been together the past 14 to 15 months, selling and buying antiques over the Internet and at rented booths at antiques stores.

They’ve crisscrossed the country, Trail said, visiting casinos in Las Vegas and Council Bluffs, buying antique coins in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and seeing shows in Branson, Missouri.

“We love Branson,” he said. “We always stay at the Windmill.”

He acknowledged that Loofe had been in their apartment in Wilber, and that before the discovery of her body, he and Boswell had traveled west to York, “in the general area” of where the body was found.

Do you have something to say to the Loofe family? he was asked.

“I could say a lot of things,” Trail said, “but with the things going on about us, it would probably be more disrespectful for them.”

It sounds like someone may have taken their cellphone with them when they "traveled" west to York.

THe Nebraska Correctional Center for Women is located in York, Nebraska. Perhaps Aubrey was showing Bailey the place he picked out for her where she would live for the rest of her life.

Sounds like AT has changed his story, again. In an interview a few days ago, when asked about the “digital footprints” he mentioned that there were nearly 20 cell phones at their apartment in Wilber and many people had access to them. Almost like he’s saying “can’t prove the cell phone was on me when I led you to the body”.

Now he mentions they were near York. As if that would be the reason their phone pinged in the general area Sydney’s body was found. Edgar (which I believe is the town closest to where her body was found) is roughly 55 miles from, York.

IMO this guy’s story gets more far fetched every time he opens his mouth.

His story does seem to be getting pretty out there, I agree! Of course we only get small bits of these interviews. Too bad we can't get the entirety of the each interview he has done. AT also claims in the OWH article that there is too much negative publicity about him and BB. What does he really expect? Instead of proclaiming innocence AT seems more interested in discrediting the digital evidence. I wonder what he would score on the Hare Psychopathy Checklist.

The article says he called the OWH three times yesterday. My guess is LE loves it when he reaches out to the press. Each time, he ends up saying a little bit more and I wouldn't be surprised if LE is just waiting for him to make the statement that seals the deal. He may have just done it.

He now admits to being near York, NE, probably in an attempt to try to explain AT's or BB's cell phone pings that night. My guess is their cell phone ping or pings were much more specific than "York". SL's body was found in a very remote area. The crime scene appears to have been rather widespread, too.

So, on the night SL disappeared and was never seen alive again, he has admitted she was at their apartment in Wilber. They have both previously stated that BB drove SL to a friend's house, but there is no proof that ever happened. Now, he appears to be departing from that previous statement and appears to admit to having information about what happened to SL, but that he was not involved, and neither was BB.

My best guess is the cell phone pings were much more specific than "York" and that this is what led LE to find SL's body and the rest of the crime scene. It will be very interesting to see what comes next.

Just wanted to add, many, many thoughts and prayers for SL's family. I cannot even imagine what they have gone through, and what they continue to go through and the holidays are upon us. I do believe that LE will do everything they can to get justice for SL.

I'm going to guess 30ish. MOO

Well according to the article the Omaha World Herald sent him a letter. So I expect that they asked him for an interview. The three calls are likely due to the fact that calls from jail are time limited.

Time limited...but the beauty part is that they're also recorded.

My guess is the score is very high and my guess is that LE has been aware of this ever since he began his criminal career, whenever that truly was. That would explain to me the rather long prison sentences he has incurred. IMO.

As for BB, she seems to exhibit signs, too. I felt no real sense of empathy coming from her at all when she gave her brief statements on the videos. Not sure if it is ingrained in her personality or if it is situational, though. My guess is LE has it pretty well figured out.

I think sociopath may be a more correct term. As far as Bailey, she seems to be brainwashed by him. Hard to say what state of mind she is in, and her mindset could change considerably now that she is isolated from him. It all depends on what degree of control he had over her.

I think her mindset will change once it becomes absolutely clear to her that Aubrey Trail has thrown her completely under the bus. In his phone interview with KLKN he said:

"I will clarify there's rumors I confessed, that is a lie, I never confessed to anything. I will not make a statement as far as that goes," said Trail.

This, of course, does not mean that he didn't do a lot of talking about what Bailey had done.

I agree that he must have some control over her thinking and actions. AT did say to the Omaha World Herald that he and BB have been traveling around together for 14/15 months. The time-line of BB's guardianship case filed in Iowa aligns with that. The first judge associated with that case is Martha L Mertz. Interesting thing to note but just a coincidence I guess.

And I just noticed the difference in spellings between the two Mertz and Merz .... drrp! So no coincidence there but the time-lines between the guardianship and BB running off with AT do seem related. I can't imagine what he could potentially even have to offer to sway a woman's thinking that far!

So AT and BB met in December 2016, I believe that’s the same month they started their “legit” antique business, A & B Aniques LLC. I’m not sure I would go into business with someone I just met, but that’s me. It makes me wonder if BB had any idea the type of person she was getting involved with. I’m really interested to find out exactly how the two of them met.

I agree, but as far as BB goes, she had ample opportunity to take a new path in life, she choose her path and she is far from innocent, simply labeling her as brainwashed takes a certain amount of blame away, the easy way...

I agree. I think she picked the path that allowed her to have no responsibilities, to be accountable to no one, do drugs when she felt like it, to have money without really working for it, to travel and to have fun.

She made a deal with the devil, IMO. To add, the fact that she victimized others (the PA antique house and I surmise, SL), tells me a lot. What it tells me is there is a basic lack of empathy, conscience and a disregard for consequences.
