I think they absolutely did right there. Get a call a child is missing, they didn't know anything at all at the time obviously they needed to check the home thoroughly. I still wonder if they checked the fathers house in NH, too.

I pray they have at least one good clue that we do not have any idea about.

I don't think they found Abby. By saying they need to check missing person records, that tells me that the body didn't fit the description of the victim in the current high-profile local case. Also, whenever the body of a high-profile victim is found, LE has a press conference about it. They are more secretive that they found a body, until they can identify it, notify the family, etc.

hubby said it is about 100 miles away, near Augusta. About two hours away.
 
For some reason, this thread turned into a circus overnight.

JDC is not a POI or suspect, he will not be treated as such. What he does on the Missing FB page, other than updates or relevant comments is not allowed.

Discussions about racism do not belong on Abby's thread so stop it now.

And by the way, there are NO suspects or POI's at this time, so again, there will be no sleuthing of friends or family at all.

This article is dated 5th October and the body was found in a house fire. Do you have other reason to think they are connected and this may be nothing to do with Abby?

Just wondering as I have to decide between going to get dinner or staying (downstairs)

Yes. Next article on the 5th (of oct not nov) was about a fire somebody set and died in. It was not a few days ago, it was a month and a few days.

The article on WCSH 6 said a body was found in Manchester ME. They've since changed it to read skeletal remains. My first post I copied the text of the article. It reads body. I just copied the new text which reads confirms skeletal remains.



this wouldnt be so confusing if I hadn't been so dense and got my months wrong on and then though it may be connected. e.g. that fire/body article

The article has been updated to say that the remains appear to be that of an adult and that they have been there "some time". Earlier the article said it was a male, but that statement has been removed.
 
I was thinking about ayla, but if they found bitty skeletal remains I don't think it would get to the newscast and if it did they'd probably have leaked that it was a child. I do wish they'd find her :(
 
Kieran Ramsey of FBI had said he was hoping to have a press conference by the end of this week..... I have done all the poking around that I can and as of this moment one has not been announced yet.... should that change, I will post here as soon as I can :)

No matter what they were told, they needed to check the home to be sure there were no signs of blood and the story held true. Doesnt mean they thought she had been home but they aren't going to take it at face value, and also yellow tape could have been a warrantless and invited search that allows them to go through her room with a fine tooth comb to see if there is any clue to what happened.
