Two Years!!! ??????
Finally someone moves....but I fear it's way way too late.
Dude is a monster....with a tear drop tat on his left eye.
And he had custody? Deemed competent to raise children?
Two Years!??

Poor little mouse

The "discipline"outlined in the complaint is horrifying.

I know it is horrifying. Harmony looked such a happy young girl in the photo being shown in the online articles. Life must have been challenging enough for her being blind in one eye, she spent her early years in foster care and then she had to suffer abuse as well it is absolutely heartbreaking. She deserved to be surrounded by people who all loved and cared about her.

From what I have read it looks like Department of Children of Children Youth and Their Families (DCYF) failed Harmony and her Father should never have been given custody of her. It is a tragedy her little brother was adopted and has been given the chance to grow up in a loving home and the same didn’t happen for Harmony.

I understand your point and objectively it's terrible behavior from a parent. But I think on the other hand, if parents are unable to care for their children, it's in the child's best interest for the parent to lose custody (and their parental rights) as soon as possible. If you are addicted to drugs and you refuse to get help, your child should not suffer the neglect that almost certainly comes with it. I think we should be encouraging people to be realistic about their ability to care for their children. So if Crystal was honest with Mass DCYF and relinquished her custody over all of her children so they could be put into appropriate homes, maybe she was doing the best she was capable of at the time. None of us would say it's "good" but it's better that children are given a chance at a normal life IMO.

That's agonizing! However, I'm surprised you were ignored due to not being a relation.

As a teacher, hence a mandated reporter, we have called child services on many occasions. Here (NYC) anonymous calls to ACS (our child services department) are followed up on, as well. In fact, unfortunately, there are people who call ACS
without justification, to get a feuding neighbor in trouble or things of that nature.

Also, @Alethea, I agree as well that children suffering neglect or abuse should be removed from home. My objection with the mother is her casting ALL the blame on child services and seemingly absolving herself completely. At least IMO

I agree with Alethea and Arkay. Children should be removed from neglectful and dangerous situations no matter who the caretaker is.

My point was exactly what Arkay said.

IMO, any caretaker who has harmed/neglected/abused a child, birth parents in particular, and have had that child removed from their care for cause, lose their right to be indignant at others who try to care for the child.

Both bio mom and bio dad created the situation where Harmony could go missing. They shouldn’t get to throw darts at someone else who maybe could have done something for Harmony.

And now, it all feels too little too late for Harmony. IMO

13. On 12/31/2021, Detective D spoke with AM's wife, KM. KM shares three younger children with AM who are all presently accounted for. During Detective D's follow up with KM, he asked about the last time she had physically seen HM. KM said that sometime in November or December of 2019, she saw HM one morning prior to going to work. AM said that he was driving HM back to CS who was living in Lowell, MA at the time. KM said that she believed HM had been returned to CS. KM claimed she never saw, or heard about HM after that day. KM admitted that she had seen HM with a black eye in the past; however she explained that AM told her it was caused by one of their other children striking HM with a toy.
14. KM had not physically seen AM since late October 2021, and had not spoken with him since around mid-November 2021. KM claimed AM was living in a sober house, and had then left the area to live in Maine with another female.
15. On 12/31/2021, patrol officers were able to make contact with AM and his new girlfriend KS together sleeping in a vehicle in the area of Harvell Street in Manchester. Investigators including Detective D and Detective K, and I responded to that location to speak with the couple.
16. KS claimed that she has been romantically involved with AM for over a year. KS said that she is aware that AM has three children from one mother, and another child from before that. However, KS said that AM was not in touch with any child from his prior relationship. KS claimed that AM has never talked about HM, and she has no information on where she may be.
17. During our roadside interview with AM, he made some contradictory statements during our interaction which raised our suspicion and concern for HM's wellbeing. Initially, AM told Detective D that HM was fine and he had seen her somewhat recently. However, as the conversation continued, AM said that he had not seen HM since CS came to pick her up in Manchester, NH around Thanksgiving 2019. AM claimed he does not presently have a traditional phone number, but he does have access to e-mail sporadically.

What's even more tragic, is the journalist who adopted Harmony's brother also wanted to adopt Harmony. He would have gladly taken her, but her father had custody at that point.

He psychologically abused her, he physically abused her, he maimed her, then he certainly killed her. Beyond evil.
My blood is boiling over what this dirt*** put this sweet, innocent child through. I have no words, well actually I do but can’t post as I’d be banned from WS for life.

Heart.is.Broken for Harmony. :(

May justice be swift and harsh.

First reported in MSM as told by AM's neighbor and now cited in the affidavit.

Police search home in Manchester 2 days after announcing a 2019 disappearance – Boston 25 News
... we did speak to residents at an old address registered to Harmony’s father. The anonymous resident used to be neighbors with Harmony’s dad and came to his defense.

“Shocking and sad especially when you know the person involved,” she said. “It’s just crazy. I know everybody wants to point to him like he hurt her or something but he’s not capable of doing that he is such a good guy. I saw him here with his other kids. He used to talk to us about his daughter a few times. You could tell he was really sincere about it. He told us that the mother came to the grandmother’s house they lived at and took her and never brought her back.”
Welp, there you have it!

This is a good charge and other jurisdictions should take note:

Endangering the Welfare of a Child (RSA 639:3)

[The Defendant did] knowingly endanger the welfare of H.M., a child under 18 years of age, by purposely violating a duty of care, protection or support that he owed to such child by having legal custody of H.M. but failing to have H.M. in his physical custody since approximately November 2019.

[The Defendant did] knowingly endanger the welfare of H.M., a child under 18 years of age, by purposely violating a duty of care, protection or support that he owed to such child by preventing child protective services, to wit, DCYF, from obtaining physical custody of H.M. [redacted]

On one of his Facebook pages there is a photo of HM jumping on a trampoline with a man I'm assuming is her father next to her. The caption says something like "my baby girl, I love you so much." The date was 2017. What happened? God, I'm heartbroken. :(

18. We each emphasized that our primary concern is locating HM and establishing that she is safe. AM stopped answering questions multiple times and stated, "I have nothing else to say." During our interaction with AM, we stressed my concern that HM had not been physically observed in over two years and that we had concern for whether or not she was still alive. AM did not exhibit much emotion or reaction to this. AM said that he believed HM was in MA with her mother. AM claimed he did not know why CS would say anything to the contrary. Similarly, he told us, "I have nothing else to say."
19. We noted discrepancies between AM's account that CS came up to Manchester to pick up HM, and KM's account that AM claimed he was driving the child down to MA. The most concerning discrepancy being that HM's mother outright denied ever taking custody of HM from AM at that time, or ever seeing HM following the video chat in April 2019. CS lived at (address) Lowell MA with her boyfriend JE (birthdate). On 12/31/2021, JE was interviewed and he stated that he was living with CS in 2019, and HM was not with CS at all from October 2019 to present. In fact, JE stated he never met HM in person. (rest is redacted)
20. (Redacted)
21. On (redacted) 12/31/2021 at approximately 1610 hours (redacted) AM refused to provide any information on the whereabouts of HM. When (redacted) asked for information about HM's whereabouts, AM said words to the effect of "Not talking to you," "I have nothing to say," and "If I'm not under arrest I'm leaving."
22. Due to the above facts and circumstances I believe probable cause exists that AM committed the crime of Second Degree Assault, RSA 631:2, I(d) on or between 7/1/2019 and 7/22/2019, in that he knowingly caused bodily injury to HM (dob), a child under the age of 13, by striking her in the face.

Heartbreaking. #Missing #HarmonyMontgomery was so close with her little brother, whose adoptive parents wanted to take her in too. When Jamison saw her missing child poster on a computer, he mistook it for a FaceTime and blew her a kiss.

This breaks my heart

This is definitely heartbreaking. It seems that little J has been the only one over the last two years that has constantly caring about Harmony. Their bond must have been, and be, incredibly strong. Praying for that little boy, and, of course, for Harmony.

sbm

This is not how it works at all.
I reported child abuse and was told I couldn't, because I wasn't a relative. Couple of months later a relative reports it and "mommy" murders them. Not ok at all. This is NOT how it works. Child I was looking after was left in his "mothers" care for months, the people who should have been there for him did nothing.
I was referring to the incident where police were called to the house for a disturbance between adult family members and children were present. I do not believe Manchester police would have left young children in the house if there was an immediate threat.

I haven’t been on this thread too long as I only heard of it when it hit MSM.

So I’m wondering if HM was born blind in one eye, or was that the result of her father having punched her in the face?

I’m thinking she was born that way, only because in pictures when she was younger, she’s wearing glasses; and also I think a doctor would have noticed. Unless he hit her in the eye in infancy, I don’t know.

Harmony Montgomery sounds like a 40s movie star name, IMO. Should have been able to grow up with love and safety.

I'm going to say I'm really proud of the NH AG charging this guy with abuse from years ago. You see in these cases so often prosecutors are afraid to charge anything and these people get to walk around free for years until there's concrete evidence that the missing child was murdered.
Agree! I am glad Harmony's great uncle provided information about a specific instance of physical abuse. And I am proud the NH AG took action to effect Adam Montgomery's arrest on a related but lesser charge. Now the court has jurisdiction over him and he can't go on his merry way as the investigation into his daughter's disapperance continues.
