This slap on the wrist means he can not get caught in public. My question is this as he has been reported in the media as being reclusive. He does not go no openings of his latest gallery opening.

What is a slap on the wrist with caution in so much as he doesn't usually appear ever in public?

Charles Saatchi: The Reclusive Art Collector Behind a British Ruckus

The photographer of the incident is now on record that he didn't intervene in the 27 minute incident as he thought he would be sued. He is happy that his photography speaks for itself.

Nigella's family has a higher profile than her current husband.

Nigella is an articulate, beautiful, successful woman in her own right. I don't know how well she is known across the pond, but in the UK, grown men go weak at the knees at the sight of her licking the cake mix off a spoon after she's just thrown together some lavish chocolate creation.

So why in heaven's name does she put up with this? Like the majority here, I would have called time on this bully years ago. I have to ask myself, if this is how he behaves in public .. then what on earth is he like behind closed doors? I think what we've seen here is just the tip of a very nasty iceberg, and reading between the lines of what a number of her frends are guardedly letting slip to the media, they are actually quite relieved that this has finally come out .. the inference being perhaps that its been hidden until now?

It just goes to show - no matter how perfect your life may seem on the outside - no matter how successful and confident you appear ... the reality can be very different.

I hope these photographs and the reaction to them provide the catalyst for her finding the strength to get away from him for good.

Thank you Martha.

I did not know that Australia is called 'over the pond'.

Nigella has to more to think about than being pressured by the media to leave.

I think being beautiful and successful doesn't really factor into these situations too much, I don't think Charles is much of a looker, but he's an incredibly successful and interesting man, these things are complicated.

Having said that, I still hope she kicks his butt to the curb, being hot, 50 and single ain't so bad for a fox like Nigella. She might finds she actually prefers single life! Even my gay friends are in love with her, when one of them was living with me he forced me to watch Nigella in silence every single night!

WAIT!! OMG was Nigella with Geoffrey Robertson and she lost him to that Kathy Lette person??? I wish those two had stayed together!

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/06/27/11/48/nigella-sends-removal-team-to-family-home

Removalists have been spotted carrying boxes of Nigella Lawson's belongings from her marital home as speculation grows that her ten year marriage is over.

Photos published on MailOnline today show a removal team carrying Lawson's clothes, kitchen utensils, recipe books, clothes, toys, exercise equipment and paintings from the couple's $23 million English home.
Lawson, 53, wasn't there at the time and Saatchi only arrived once the team was finished.
Lawson hasn't spoken publicly about the "choking" photos, but has moved into a rented unit and been pictured without her wedding ring.

Good on her! When I travelled to London a few years ago the same friend I mentioned before, dragged me to where she lived (Mayfair I think it was), and stand in the cold in a sort of park in the middle of the road for ages in the hope that she might pop outside .. I can picture the house. One of those white townhouses. Good times :) I got him back by dragging him over to the house where Lord Lucan had lived.

I'm so glad she's moving out .. She can do better or will be happier alone - he should never have been treating her so horribly, it's very sad. Love Nigella!! I bet she's super happy in her new place :)

I know nothing about her, but after looking at the pictures she needs to get away from him ASAP. No woman should ever tolerate that kind of behavior. EVER.

He's saying he's divorcing her for not standing up for him after the choking incident.

Huge loss there.

"I am sorry to announce that Nigella Lawson and I are getting divorced," the 70-year-old art collector and ad agency cofounder said in a statement to The Mail newspaper in the UK.

Saatchi goes on to explain that the split comes from his disappointment in Lawson's failure to publicly defend him following the alleged choking incident in London last month...

He's not fooling anyone. What a sorry excuse for a man. :shakehead:

I agree. She will obviously be so much better off. Classic abuser behaviour, blaming her for the breakup because she didn't defend and excuse his abuse of her.

Exactly. This is victim blaming at its best, and it shows that he thinks there is NOTHING wrong with his abuse of Nigella.

There's a special place in hell for scum like this, and no amount of money can change that. He can buy his ugly face some botox with his millions of dollars, but he can't liposuction his evil soul.

Holding myself back from saying more so that I don't get a timeout.

His latest act, however, in announcing via a newspaper that he intends to divorce her, is one calculated to heap maximum humiliation on his wife. He had used the media to create Nigella, now he would use it to destroy her.

Except Nigella Lawson won't be destroyed. Her resilience will see her through this crisis as it has seen her through all the previous ones. She will bide her time, make a new home, maybe move with her children to America, where she may well find herself a new man - a sunny, supportive figure whose star burns so much brighter than Saatchi's.

After all, this chef knows that revenge is a dish best served cold.

Nigella is using Fiona Shackleton as her divorce lawyer! WOOHOO!!!

Nigella is using Fiona Shackleton as her divorce lawyer! WOOHOO!!!

She is Nigella's cousin.

Shackleton — who is Nigella’s cousin — is known as the “doyenne of divorce” and represented Prince Charles in his split from Diana as well as Madonna when she broke up with director Guy Ritchie.

The TV chef has reached out to Fiona Shackleton — who was famously soaked by Heather Mills when she lost her case for a huge payout from her Beatle ex.

IIRC Madonna gave Guy a lot in the settlement maybe because she wanted a quickie divorce and I thought Prince Charles was wanting the same. Maybe they have a pre-nup and Nigella is wanting out quickly?

Blood is thicker than water though so maybe she will take this guy to task.

Eta. I still think for all of his money, Nigella is better connected through her family.

THE GAME IS ON! I'm Team Nigella.

In the news...

Nigella, 53, plans to stand up for herself with a warts-and-all interview on primetime American television.

Saatchi warmly embraced literary editor Susanna Gross at the same restaurant where he grabbed Nigella by the throat and sparked worldwide condemnation.

Whenever I’ve seen him before he’s always seemed so miserable.

The Sunday People can also reveal that Saatchi, 70, has hired top divorce lawyer Helen Ward, who represented movie maker Guy Ritchie in his split from Madonna.

Just adding my opinion that Nigella will not have a warts and all interview with anyone. He needs some good PR and not her.

The couple said today the divorce will be "undefended" and a decree nisi will be pronounced before the end of this month

Hopefully, this will be the case and she won't need to endure a long, drawn out public mud slinging.
I feel for her, and I don't need any bare your soul Barbara Walters interview to know what happened. That is between her and her soon to be ex.
What a tool.
