Maybe I missed it, but was her phone in the home or missing with her? I wonder if they pinged it if it's missing....

For some reason this seems to happen frequently in missing persons cases. Someone, usually on Facebook groups, posts something like "Amber Alert!" not understanding what it means but knowing that it usually generates a lot of attention to a missing persons case.

IMO, if an AA were truly issued many mainstream media sites would have picked this up by now, the police would have said something and it would be on the AA website.

UPDATED: Clark PD Searching For Missing Girl Who Tweeted "Call 911"

"Update, 11 P.M.: Alongi is still missing and Clark PD has issued the following Amber Alert: "At 6:12pm the missing, Kara Alongi stated on Twitter that 'There is someone in my hour ecall 911'. Indications of a break-in reported present at the scene. Missing was home alone. Again missing is Kara Alongi. 5ft3in aprox (sic) 105lbs. Blonde hair, hazel eyes. Last seen wearing a blue Aurthur L. Johnson HS (ALJ) sweatshirt"

Wow! Terrifying. Kara has a ton of followers (68,500) yet only follows 130 people. Im not a twitter kind of girl so maybe that's typical, is she a celebrity or model or Internet famous? Sorry is these are bizarre questions it just struck me as odd.

This is just a guess but I would bet she got all those Twitter followers recently (like tonight..) since her picture and twitter name is ALL over twitter right now. Everyone is probably following her on there to be alerted if she posts anything else. This happens in a lot of cases that go viral.

Social media never ceases to amaze me (in many ways!) instagram has almost 8000 pics with her hash tag....just in the past few hours.
 
Also a downside to Twitter, some horrible things being said and someone created a false account already!

UPDATE, 11:10 P.M.: Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb tells Patch: "We still don't know whether she ran away or if there was any foul play. There are no obvious signs of a break-in and the home was not ransacked.

UPDATE 11:55 p.m.: Clark police chief Alan Scherb has dispelled rumors that Kara was kidnapped.
"We don't feel any foul play was involved," he said. "There was nothing disturbed inside the home."

So is Kara really missing, or is this some kind of joke?
 
i wonder who, if anyone, called 911 to report on Kara. parents? twitter follower?

I believe you are right. I heard about this case about 2 hours ago and she had 40,000ish followers then.
 
Looking at map... car can go North/South on the 82 since 82 is close to house...

However, I am not familiar with area ....
