Why are we in the dark about this case? There are still no updates from my searches. Has anyone heard anything? Is it being banned from the public? Has it been post-poned??

Maybe the Grand Jury still has the case? Does the Grand Jury meet every week, every month in Monmouth County? I don't know.

Grand jury meets once per week in Monmouth County.
Prosecutors have 90 days from day of arrest under new reform law to present their case for indictment. They were both arrested Feb. 1st.
It's possible it went before the grand jury April week one as planned and nothing has been made public. I was wondering if they could possibly think there is a link to the leg bone found in Sandy Hook and are waiting for forensics to come back before presenting?

Has anyone heard updates on the bone found at Sandy Hook? I've tried to look but have not seen any new info

I'm glad to hear he's going to testify against LM. As much as I would've loved to see PT not receive a deal and have to serve the maximum sentence possible, I think it's wise to use him to solidify their case against LM. I don't want to see LM's high-powered attorney manage an acquittal with the suicide or runaway theories he's trying to push.

"Taylor faces up to 20 years in state prison and is subject to the No Early Release Act. He pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree distributing or desecrating human remains, two counts of third-degree hindering apprehension and fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence."

I would guess that part of the plea deal would include the location where her remains were disposed.?

Yeah, I am still not convinced that they threw her into the river ... but for me, the following bit -especially the parts I've bolded- makes their claim a little more convincing:
"He [Taylor] said McAtasney put her body in the front passenger seat of her car and drove it to the Route 35 bridge while Taylor followed in his car. With Taylor on the northbound side and McAtasney on the southbound side, they waited until traffic died down before removing her body, Taylor said.

McAtasney couldn't get her body over the railing, so Taylor drove his car behind Stern's and helped his friend toss it over the side, he said.

'You're certain the body went over the side?' Perrone asked his client.

'Yes,' Taylor said.

That question posed to dispel claims that Stern committed suicide or ran away.

Taylor said he and McAtasney later made up stories that Stern had once tried to commit suicide.

'What was the purpose of leaving the car?' Perrone asked.

'To make it look like a suicide,' Taylor said."

That's pretty specific and detailed, which makes the scenario a little more believable for me.

I wonder if LE thought to and/or were able to obtain any physical evidence from the railing, such as blood, whether belonging to Sarah, and better yet, PT or LM.

If not, and then Sarah is found at a different location at a later time, I wonder what happens to the plea deal.

I suppose one of the possible defense strategies for LM's attorney is going to be to argue that the entire crime was carried out by PT, and that LM had nothing to do with it. It seems like the prosecution's case mostly hinges on the testimony of PT -now an admitted lair and a soon-to-be convicted criminal- and the video recording of a supposed confession by LM, which his attorney has described as sounding "'scripted' than a supposed recollection of events." I hope that there is additional evidence -physical, electronic, etc.- that is yet to be disclosed to the public.

With Sarah yet to be found (did you see the photos of her dad in today's article? I can't even imagine ...), I would really hate to see LM walk.

Can someone please explain the legalities of this plea deal? I know this means no trial, but is this final for him? Official? He's in jail for 20 years, period? No appeals or take-sy-back-sies?

It's not definite that he's getting 20 years. The sentencing is scheduled for late July. I believe his lawyer is trying to get him 10 years. I'm not sure whether or not he can appeal the sentence he receives.

Saw this coming: "We're a long way away from trial and at this point, as far as my client's concerned, all Preston had done is indicate that he (Taylor) was somehow responsible for what happened to the young girl," Moriarty said by phone when asked for a comment on Taylor's plea agreement. "All I can tell you is my client had nothing to do with it." http://www.app.com/story/news/local...a-expected-sarah-stern-murder-case/100787608/
