Did not watch the livestreamed trial, just MSM news.
Watching the second hour of Dateline now.

These 'girlfriends.'
Esp'ly, Rose, meeting Levi here, meeting him there, hooking up at the duck ponds.
Sex, just sex. Wherever. Whatever, you know.

:seeya:

The first 1 1/2 have been good. Surprised to see Aaron Jones on in so much of the show.

It was a bit surprising that Aaron Jones was given so much airtime. The jurors did not appear to be highly impressed by him. Ditto for Rose.

A couple of jurors have spoken out about their Not Guilty verdict bothering them. One way to avoid that uneasy feeling is to vote with a clear conscience. So what if it hangs the jury? It's better than allowing a murderer free to walk away.

Probably more than anything else, the fact that the upside down gun was shoved so far into her mouth convinced me it was not a suicide.

Prayers are spoken for Tera's beautiful children to have happy, productive lives.

I checked the Dateline page, they only have little snippets posted so far. If anyone finds a copy of the entire show, can you post on here please?

They had a portion with the jury, I can't wait to hear all the jurors' remarks!

Also, they played a clip of Levi on the stand talking about finding the body....funny how he "couldn't recall" much, except for very obvious things like seeing the body. No memory of any details. Sheesh. Juan would've tore him up if he had done the cross...."most important day of your life and you don't remember?? Do you have memory problems, sir??"

Forgive me for butting in at the conclusion of your trial, I watched some things on youtube which got me very interested. However I did not watch the entire trial like you folks did, so sorry if I misstate something. But I feel your pain in that it's so obvious he's guilty, I can imagine how hard that not-guilty verdict was for you all.

I wanted to call all of you last night to remind you to watch Dateline.....so happy to get on here and see that you saw it.
I was a bit disappointed in the jury's remarks. I think there was sufficient evidence to convict LC but I think they wanted the proverbial CSI factor. The one juror was not hesitant to say she thought he was guilty. So why didn't she hold out?

BBM and I agree

I didn't want to post much last night because my mind was all over the place. After thinking about the show and the juror's, I wonder what trial they were at. I am beginning to think there was some pressure in that jury room during the deliberations. imo

I am glad they showed what a true person that Tera and her family are.

Just finished watching....something about the jury annoyed me, also! This is NOT meant as a race comment or anything, but I did not like the white ladies in the panel they showed....again, not meant to be a race comment but it's just those ladies I didn't like and they just happen to be white. I felt they had strong personalites and I feel like they were probably for NG from the original vote they took. It seemed to be like the panel was pretty equally divided in the beginning, so what happened in just one day?? They said they went home that night DIVIDED and came back the next morning, took a vote, and they were all UNANIMOUS?? WTH? How does that happen?

I believe there were strong personalities on that jury, those people were for NG, and because they were stronger personality-wise, they convinced the G voters that they were being illogical.

JMO.

That surprised me a lot too aa, I'd just came back in the room when that was said and thought I'd missed something telling, how do you all go home split and come back all agreed? Not mostly agreed, not having to talk a few things over, just all those who thought he did it based on the evidence in the trial suddenly change their minds overnight? That was surprising.

I had not heard of this case before and only know what was presented on Dateline. I was really shocked when the verdict came in as not guilty.

Is it just me, or did something seem a little "off" with that prosecutor? His eyes would get wide at some moments and he seemed to be "winging it" at times during his interviews. It makes me wonder just how prepared the prosecutor was during the trial.

Thanks for watching Dateline Nells and giving your opinion. I will have to agree about the prosecutor he was fairly new and didn't know the case like his partner Ms Keener. Some of us felt like there was favoritism going on between the Judge and the defense attorney at times. The evidence was there in the case and a motive was there also.

It was the jury that is confusing being split and then coming back the next day and giving a non-guilty verdict that shocked all of us watching the trial. Although we didn't know they were split.

Nells, I didn't watch the whole trial but watched some you tube videos later....watched some of Levi's testimony, parts of a couple of mistresses' testimonies, and opening and closing arguments.

I don't know if a different prosecutor would have made a difference in the final outcome, but I thought his cross of Levi was horrible. I can just imagine how tough Juan would have been with Levi, particulary on details of finding the body, etc.. I guess I am just spoiled now with Juan, I expect every prosecutor to be as good as him and probably no one can live up to that standard.

I also thought it not fair that the jury just set aside all of Levi's cheating, saying he was a bad husband but that didn't involve the crime (like the jurors said on Dateline). Well, that was a piece, a BIG piece of the whole puzzle. I feel like they didn't look at all the evidence as a whole. How can you just toss aside all the cheating when the WIFE of this man who is cheating with 10different women ends up dead??! It's the fact that he was a horrible husband, combined with the fact that his wife ended up in a suspicious death, combined with all the other pieces like him turning his cell phone off at midnight, etc..

I am still going with my gut that there were a few strong personalities on that jury who overpowered the others.

Just weighing in from the other side. I too, knew very little about this case until the episode this weekend and I came away feeling the opposite - I thought that NG was the correct verdict given what was presented there.

I would imagine that you passionate people who have invested more time into researching this case can tell me a million reasons why LC should have been found guilty, but just from what was presented and the folks who agreed to speak on camera about this case, I thought the jury got it right. (based on logic and evidence/lack thereof - not on emotion. Yes, no doubt LC was a philandering .)

I have compassion for Tera and for the pain her family has and will continue to endure. It just sucks that we have to sit back and either hope the jury got it right, or be upset and saddened that they may have gotten it wrong. How can there ever be closure...

sad for everyone touched by this death.

ETA: here is case for professional jurors if there ever was one...

It easily could have gone either way. Enough to convict or not. I don't hope the jury got it right. I know they didn't from the deepest core. The probable destroying of vital evidence and the gun angle alone tells me too much. But, at the same time, I can see why they did what they did. The fam may have closure only through the civil suit like the brown/goldman fams.

This is a short clip from KOAT where we all watched the at times trying trial of LC.

I don't know how long this will stay up on their web site.

I wonder why LC thought the city would pay for this civil trial? I didn't think they payed for his criminal trial, did they? I think they payed some money to Tera's family for some reason.

BBM LOL!

I found this informative article that lists costs for the trial:

http://www.krqe.com/news/local/central/da-releases-levi-chavez-trial-expenses

My eyebrows are raised at the reasoning for putting up the prosecutors at a hotel during the trial. Aren't they local? I've never heard of this, no wonder dude smiled so much during trial. It probably would have been cheaper to pay for a driver for each of them. And we wonder why cities are broke, who's making the decisions?

Actually there was a change of venue at LC request so the trial was held North of Albuquerque. The crime was in Los Lunas which is south of Albuquerque. I think it would be a commute, so I can see them staying in a motel.

That is still a lot of money spent on a trial for a not guilty verdict. I wish Mr McKay had been a little more serious about trying LC then he might have got that guilty verdict.

I didn't know about the change of venue but still, weeks at a hotel is a big expense on taxpayer dollars.
