That actually makes sense and would violate the privacy of their patrons..
But following a mass shooting event could this not be over ridden justifiably?
It could assist the investigation..?
What do you think?
Priorities?
Certainly they would turn it over to LE, but they would not want the general public seeing it and capturing details of the pits, cage, etc.

"No motive for the Oct. 1 shooting has been revealed yet, but Lombardo said that since September 2015, Paddock – a high-rolling gambler – had lost a significant amount of wealth.

“I think that might have a determining factor on what he determined to do,” Lombardo said.

The sheriff said Paddock was narcissistic, had some bouts of depression and was very status-driven, based on how he liked to be recognized in the casinos and by his family and friends, which was starting to decline......"

While I don't believe casinos including MB are necessarily hiding anything, I can understand why it benefits them for Paddock to be perceived by the public as a gambler who consistently won.

We discussed it at great length here on this thread just a few days ago.

I don’t recall, and you clearly aren’t going to link to the posts since you are refusing to provide a link any time I ask, so whatever.

I literally stated what the article said, the article you believed had those details, however the article did not have those details. Idc what you guys talked about previously - I am replying to the statement you made minutes ago which is not true based on the article you referred to.

Do you have a reputable link showing he represented the Rt. 91 festival? When I do a search, all I have pulled up so far are CT NJ links. Not saying it isn't true, but I would like to see that in a reputable source.

Plus, what would be the motivation in killing the lawyer who is representing, not the victims, but one of the entities likely to be sued?

No media links. (Yet)
The media hasn't even reported his death. 5 days ago.
As of now there are no burial plans.
I fully believe that it is a coincidence (I rarely believe in coincidences)
Just something to keep in the back of my mind for now.
If the media would report on his death, I could say more.

Bad luck for Aldean though.
I feel sorry for him!

It was extensively discussed over several pages.

I do not lie or make things up.
Nor can I read for you.
See post #58 and the ensuing discussion which continued for several pages.
Its all there.

Just because it is not in keeping with your own personal experiences of other hotels elsewhere does not mean it is not a valid point and worthy of exploration.
I worked in a housekeeping dept of a grade A hotel when I was young..
This would have been very much a NO NO.
It would violate food hygiene rules.. general hygiene regulations, block or impede a passageway thus compromising fire regulations.

Its a big thing.

Given SP has in his possession the technology to hook up a camera to the food cart, it's doubtful he'd risk the essential component to be sitting unattended in the hallway for any length time. I'm not understanding why you presume it was? For all we know he ordered room service or took a food cart from the hallway earlier and kept it in his room until shortly before his shooting began. Hotel staff are not going to raise alarm bells or do a room-by-room search over a missing food cart.

I explained it fully in my post.
trolleys are not meant to be left in corridors and should be removed immediately is standard hotel policy. I'm tired now Misty.

Lol I can read just fine thanks.

Thanks for the link, that’s all I asked for. Since we are supposed to post a link when we state things as fact even if we’ve posted the link before. Anyway, it could be true, idk. I haven’t found any other articles that quote anon LE saying he used it during the shooting, so I guess time will tell. It seems like most people think the sheriff is dippy and full of it, so I suppose him saying they dk when it was removed and that it could have been removed a year ago doesn’t matter.

Sure but if we are referring to a discussion that took place less than a week ago and we recognise posters as being members of the forum for a long time, we can assume 4 days of posts must have been read to some extent.
If it was new information then yes, we provide the link.
<modsnip>I try to be accurate always except when I am posting my personal thoughts feelings and speculations.
See MOOcow's post from a little while ago regarding today's developments.
Many many people are questioning information received, lack of information received and conflicting information received.

it matters a lot.

Music industry publications online are covering it, which is all I would really expect in terms of media coverage for an industry lawyer.

Also, 4 days is no longer such a long time anymore. I've noticed that more and more people are choosing cremation and taking up to a week and more to have services. It no longer seems necessary to rush these things, particularly if friends and family live out of town. It's taken some getting used to, but I'm seeing this as the new normal.

I'm guessing lots of people who are commenting here haven't been to Vegas much. I go a good bit. It's not what most people think, that only have dirty, dingy, vegas movies type thoughts in their brains. Most of the hotels are resorts. They are beautiful and eztravagant. The strip is clean and fresh feeling. I walked home many nights carrying my heels and was not filthy. I would neeeever walk without Shoes in new orleans! As a matter of fact, most hotels actually clean their sidewalks every night. It feels more like Disney, to me, in the way things are cared for. I don't care about what someone's preferences are about big business and commercialism. I'm just trying to make a point of what type of place it is.

SBM for relevance --

Your description of the hotels along the Strip is nearly identical to the impression I got when I visited there. In a post upthread, I mentioned how I was one of those people who made assumptions about Vegas and expected it to seem seedy or unsafe but was pleasantly surprised to find that the Strip was pristine and almost felt luxurious. I also pointed out that the air felt clean and fresh, compared to the thick, muggy air here in SC. It's almost impossible to explain how clean everything looked... but the comparison to Disney is pretty spot on.

[h=3]“To go silent on the worst mass shooting in modern history is unheard of”
[/h]The New York Times and the Associated Press are among six news outlets suing the local Las Vegas law enforcement for information about the deadly October 1 mass shooting, perpetrated by Stephen Paddock.
Craig Fiegener, a reporter at Las Vegas NBC affiliate KSNV News 3, told CrimeOnline that his station is joined by CNN, ABC News, the Associated Press, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times in suing the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police department for public information connected to the shooting, which killed 58 people and injured hundreds more.

Las Vegas shooting: Paddock's girlfriend may be hiding something, sheriff suggests

"....Marilou Danley, who is still a person of interest in the case, has told authorities that she never knew the attack was coming. Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, in his first TV appearance in nearly three weeks, told KLAS that investigators he’s spoken to believe this assessment is accurate. But he added that something appears to be off about the manner in which Paddock amassed his arsenal of weapons.
“There is a lot of people that have hundreds and hundreds of guns, but for this individual to do it at a certain point in time and to do it all with such robust action, you would think that Ms. Danley would have some information associated with that,” he said. “But currently we haven’t been able to pull that out of her, if it’s in her.”

Lombardo added that Danley will be interviewed again this week and he suggested she could have prevented the massacre, which left 58 dead and hundreds injured.

“It could have been prevented on many levels,” Lombardo told KLAS’ George Knapp. “Marilou Danley, his brother, anybody that may have had some modicum of information that would have presented this individual’s state of mind, but apparently right now we don’t know that.”

Her story, that SP buys her a cheap ticket and off she goes to visit her family in the Phillipines and then she receives $100k and wonders if he's breaking up with her, does seem to be missing a few pieces. I'd speculate he was abusive toward her and the relationship was breaking up.

One possible reason for withholding information is fear of getting named in lawsuits.

One word comes to mind and that's "posturing".

I think we all know how long it takes for lawsuits to eventually wind their way through the court system.

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media "to report the news fully, accurately and fairly" has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32% saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media. This is down eight percentage points from last year."

This was the 4th year of the Route 91 Harvest Festival hosted by Live Nation (why Live Nation is named in the lawsuits).

Jason Aldean was one of the featured performers this year.

"The stellar lineup for the fourth annual Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas has been announced, with Jason Aldean, Eric Church and Sam Hunt headlining the event at Las Vegas Village, September 29th through October 1st."

Yeah, I found one. Due to being found dead I'm sure it is taking a little longer.

He fired an employee a day or so before he died and posted about it on his Facebook page.

I'm sure the vast majority of the cctv footage was from in the casino itself, just logical because every inch of the casino floor is monitored.

That footage will *never* be released. Why? Because every casino has a hard and fast rule that *no pictures* are allowed to be taken in the casino. This rule is taken VERY seriously, and it's one of the things that employees are actively on the lookout for.

I'm sure the surveillance footage was given to LE with the stipulation it not be released publicly. They do not, under any circumstances, want pictures and video of the casino floor in the hands of the public.

Respectfully from experience I don't agree. I don't know how hard and fast that rule is these days with social media. My friends and I were taking pictures of ourselves in front of slot machines etc and the security guard offered to take some of us. I have tons of pictures inside various casinos. The actual casino.. Not the hotel.

Search trip advisor for any hotel.. Tons and tons of travellers photos inside these Vegas hotels casino area.
