Stokes picked up the girl at about 5 p.m., and two hours later returned to another friend the red 2007 Saab sedan that she borrowed for the shopping trip, Jones said.

Later, Stokes got a ride with a friend to the Bellagio resort

I wish there was a method of detecting these people-monsters- before they kill an innocent child.

I am in no way at all defending this woman, because no one should ever think that killing an innocent little child is acceptable, but there really needs to be an easy way for Dr's, family or even the person themselves to get help when a threat or feeling of harming someone has been uttered. If she really did tell her Dr, days before she got her dirty hands on Jade, that she felt like she was going to hurt someone, why was she still walking around? Did the Dr not believe her? Did the Dr have no recourse to get her evaluated? Did BS refuse any help?

If she really did say that to a Dr, then Jades death was entirely preventable.

The mentally ill or even mentally fragile need places to turn to be believed and to get help the second they admit something like that. It wouldn't save all the children, but it may have saved this one.

Has anyone checked to see if this monster had a criminal record prior to this?

Blood found on borrowed car in missing girl case

By KEN RITTER, AP

LAS VEGAS — A prosecutor says blood was found in a car borrowed by a woman last seen with a missing 10-year-old girl and later arrested in a razor blade slashing of a co-worker at a Las Vegas Strip casino.

Police investigating the disappearance Jade Morris expect to know Friday whether her body is the one found by a person walking a dog in an undeveloped North Las Vegas housing tract.

Jade was last seen Dec. 21.

Clark County Coroner Michael Murphy says he's awaiting results of DNA testing before saying whether the body is Jade Morris.

Prosecutor Robert Daskas convinced a judge Friday to raise bail to $600,000 for Brenda Stokes.

Stokes is jailed in the slashing case and is expected to face murder and kidnapping charges in Jade Morris' disappearance.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

Brenda Stokes stood stoically as a prosecutor called her a killer and a judge raised her bail Friday.

She avoided the gaze of the enraged family sitting behind her in the courtroom, but that won't last forever, said the mother of 10-year-old Jade Morris.

"I will be here every time she's in court," Tejuana Reeves, 41, said. "Eventually she'll look into my eyes."

So a friend lends this woman a car, and she returns it with the blood of an innocent child staining the inside of the car.

And another friend allows her to take her precious child on an outing, and she kills her and dumps her in the desert. :furious: :furious: :furious:

BBM: That depends on if anyone has had the foresight to look at the tapes in those cameras. Unless the cameras are hooked to a live monitor and someone is sitting there watching them. I doubt if they have them connected to an outside dumpster though, more likely they are monitoring the inside of the casinos and hotels or the entrances and exits.

If the trash moves that quickly, and if a person timed it right, it could be done and the dumpster emptied when no one would notice or pay attention. Only thing is, how could an average sized woman lift the body of a 10 y.o. up and over the side of a dumpster? She would have to have some help, I would think.

The regulars on WS know I am from LV. It's been 2 yrs, since I relocated, however the casinos have cameras everywhere!!!!! Except the guest rooms. Everywhere!!! Even in the elevators. They won't release the tapes to the public, but LV Metro will have viewed them. Most casinos have their own security/police force, and Metro patrols the outside areas of the casinos and strip/city. Metro should be able to track this woman's path by traffic cameras also.

Stokes would have had an FBI check prior to employment as a dealer, which doesn't really mean anything...just saying.

I haven't worked in a casino, but went through the employment process and declined a job. I also have a friend who works Metro in the strip area.

This is just a dreadful crime on a child in so many ways!

Also, I remember the Baby Grace case very well. There is also a little girl who was never found. Her case is also on websleuths with little attention. The family who was taking care of her (in North LV) never spoke in the courtroom, and the case is still open.

And then the friend drives her to a casino where she attacks another woman.

Makes me wonder, if this friend knew that Stokes was about to assault another person. Also, didn't this friend notice any changes in Stokes' behavior? Stokes just killed a little child!!

A Sociopath or Psychopath are perfectly capable of murder. The real reason why we may never know, and surely not understand.

I wonder what type of doctor she states to have made the statement to? A psychiatrist would have treated these two personality types in the same manner. IMO I doubt it was a mental health doctor. And, if so this health professonal is in for major consequences.
