Jade should have been celebrating her 11th birthday on Saturday.

A belated Happy Birthday sweet girl.

"She was an amazing little girl, who would have been an amazing young woman," says Jade's grandfather, Phil Tucker. "Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. You don't just forget about somebody that you loved. Especially as a grandparent. I watched her grow up. I miss her so much."

A YEAR ? WTH! Geez , I'm sure the NV taxpayers love buying her wifi for another year. I'm all for fair trail, right to counsel, etc etc , but there has to be a limit to the shenanigans of a defense lawyer. It's just not right.
 
I'm watching Fox5Vegas live on TV and Jade's dad says "People say she's in a better place but there's no better place than right here next to me." Completely agree.

Fox5 just showed a statement from district attorney Steve Wolfson and he says Clark County has 85 murder trials that are waiting to be tried and a year is pretty standard, though some cases have been taking years to get to trial. Ridiculous.

The nonprofit group Safe Faith United is holding the Jade Morris Coat Drive through Tuesday at the agency's office, 1850 East Sahara Ave.
Ten-year-old Jade Morris was stabbed to death last December. Her father's ex-girlfriend is accused of the crime. Her trial date is set for June.
Jade's mother will help distribute the gently used coats collected by the charity.
 
40 stab wounds and disfigurement? That's complete overkill and pure rage. That wasn't lying when she said she hated that poor child. Maybe she was jealous about how much her daddy loved his little girl? Maybe she wanted her gone so she didn't have to share him with her. Urgh, she makes me sick!
 
I think she also killed Jade to get back at Jade's Dad. Then she went and got the woman at Bellagio who she thought was having an affair with him.

Horrible person, she should have turned the knife on herself and not little Jade, she was truly innocent in all of the dealings of these adults in her life. Such a senseless tragedy.

The disfigurement sounds a lot like what she did to her ex-BFF. Slashed her face up something horrible. That's probably what happened to poor Jade.

I see that she mentioned something about seeking mental health assistance before this happened. Kind of like a scaled-back Julie Schenecker. But the underlying facts are the same- a child was murdered in a fit of rage to get back at the father.

WHY??? Why do these monsters get to spend ages and ages and ages preparing? I'm all for ........ ( no im not ) the defendants' rights to bla , bla bla , but this is ridiculous. A one year extension ? WTH!
 
Let's get this over with . Baby Jade deserves her own focus and it's hard to do when her perp is not convicted.

Trial dates have been set and pushed back a lot, but this is because it's a DP case,
and defense has changed at least twice.

July 2013. June 2014. April 2015. February 2016.

At least that monster is behind bars waiting.

So...Stokes sweats? In relative comfort, security and well-fed (by OUR dollars), and her lawyers gain ample time to square away on defensive tactics to avoid the DP.
Something very twisted in it all, huh?
Prayers for Jade's family...for endurance and acceptance.

Brenda Stokes Wilson's trial had been scheduled for next week, but Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney recently moved it to February 2016.

Delaney said the postponement would give Stokes Wilson's public defender, David Schieck, time to prepare. Schieck wasn't immediately available Monday for comment.

W T H ! Really ? A trial put off for a month or 2 sounds reasonable but a year ? This is just outrageous..
