So after seeing the updated timeline, one thing stuck put to me: The first entry. "12:00 PM Departed MOUNT SHASTA KOA".
Because "Family and friends who are posting updates on social media write that Ronnie and Beverly Barker left Albany, Oregon on March 26 heading for Fallon, Nevada followed by a stop in Las Vegas before continuing on to Tucson on March 29 where they were expected to meet with friends."
Silver Alert issued for missing couple traveling through Nevada northeast of Las Vegas
When did Mt. Shasta get thrown in there? Was that a different plan than what the family/friends knew about?
Why didn't they stop over in Fallon on the 27th, if that was the plan?
They left Mt. Shasta at noon, it would make sense to stop after 5-6 hours in Fallon, but it doesn't make sense that they would be trying to make it to Las Vegas (11+ hours) having left so late in the day. They would be arriving at midnight!
It's 10 hours from Albany to Fallon. I can see why they would would want to stop after ~5 hours and stay in Mt. Shasta instead. But why the extremely late start? Was there a medical issue that first day/night? Trouble with the rig? It just seems like the plan was already off from the beginning, and maybe friends and family really didn't know exactly the route they were on, and some signals got crossed. Fatigue, confusion, miscommunication- and then ending up completely lost.
(Or maybe I am just misunderstanding or missing some information that would clear this up).
Moo.
Minimum 5 hour trip from Albany, OR to Mt. Shasta KOA. Noon on Sunday does seem like a late start but I'm not convinced they were trying to reach Nellis AFB that day.

There's so much we don't know about their travel habits. We need a Verified Insider to help us out!

When I put Luning to Beatty into Apple Maps, it takes you through Silver Peak on 265 (aka Nivloc Rd) as the fastest route.
Surely they would look closely at potential routes to see if they are suitable for their rig size and capabilities?

I don't know this couple but why would they take chances on an off the beaten pathway route by choice. Bad choice if they are in a hurry or not. But I don't think they were.

If they ended up on Nivloc Rd. & are found alive & well stuck there, someone in their family needs to make sure they are still in physical & mental shape to be driving cross-country because they are a danger to themselves if it works out that way. I don't say this unkindly. I would be very concerned for their overall welfare & whether intervention is needed for their safety.

MY HUMBLE OPINION ONLY

Stagecoach 3:48 pm March 27 is the last sighting of them. Afterward it is pings and CCTV screenshots driving for several hours to Nivloc Road - no way to say who is in the RV. They were traveling from Albany, Oregon to Tucson, Arizona.

Does anyone recall the dates leaving Albany and arriving in Tucson? Were they visiting friends at Nellis Air Base overnight on March 27 or March 28? Who sounded the alarm that they were missing? Were they taking turns driving non-stop to a destination, or were they living RV life on the way to visit friends in Arizona?

It appears that the search may not have started until Friday, April 1. Family member Travis Peters posted the following on April 2:
"Original Post:
My brother who lives in Las Vegas spent the day yesterday driving the route they would have taken to get to Vegas, and looked around the areas of the last cell signals but nothing was spotted."

Above quote is an excerpt from his post.

March 26 leave Albany, March 29 arrive Tucson.
Silver Alert issued for missing couple traveling through Nevada northeast of Las Vegas
The legs of the trip make sense when you look at the map you posted:
Day 1 (26th) Albany to Mt Shasta
Day 2 (27th) Mt. Shasta to Fallon
Day 3 (28th) Fallon to Las Vegas
Day 4 (29th) Las Vegas to Tucson
(I guess this sort of clears up my previous post)
Something happened in Stagecoach. Moo.

Why stop in Fallon, when we know they were in Stagecoach and Fallon is not on the route to Tucson? Did they have a flexible plan that meant maybe staying in Fallon, maybe staying in Stagecoach?

Nivloc road is short... no turns.. and a dead end... maybe 6 miles long.... it starts in Silver Peak,,, population 100... it's possible to drive thru Silver Peak and not be seen at 2am...??? a deputy is stationed in Silver Peak... no doubt the road has been well checked... but many roads are in the area... to get to Silver Peak they would have to pass the Silver Peak junction cell tower..... there is no report of a cell ping at Silver Peak... traveling at 2am.. ?? phone could be dead... giving no pings

I'm not sure, but it seems Fallon was in the plan all along, for whatever reason.
Without knowing what other options for refueling were available, I would guess that it was the Stagecoach stop that was unplanned. Maybe they did fill up in Mt Shasta but went through fuel more quickly than they were comfortable with to finish the leg in Fallon. Moo.

Reminds me of the McCanns. It was5n't a wrong turn. They met someone at the gas station who wanted the vehicle they were towing. Their burned RV was found. The fire was initially believed to be torching an RV for insurance money, so there was a delay in connecting the dots. The bodies were never found. The vehicle they were towing was connected to a suspect.
For those who don't want to follow the links, the McCann's were a Canadian couple with an RV, towing an SUV, who disappeared on a trip west from Edmonton in 2010.

@otto I don't know where you get the idea their killer saw them at the gas station, that has never been mentioned in any reports. It is just the last place they were visually identified.

"Mr. Vader had a violent confrontation with the McCanns while they were stopped on or near the side of Highway 16 somewhere in the Peers, Alta., area most likely occurring when Mr. Vader was in the process of stealing from them, and that during that violent confrontation, Mr. Vader murdered either Lyle McCann or Marie McCann," the court document states. " https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmo...anns-murder-trial-closing-arguments-1.3646758

This was more than 2 hours after they'd gassed up near their starting point.

Travis Vader had just returned to the area, a literally starving meth addict. LE were able to pinpoint the time and location of the attack because he immediately used their cellphone to call a friend.

He drove their RV to a remote campground and burned it, and used their suv for a bit before abandoning it.

IMO, as soon as LE were informed they were missing, they knew it was foul play.

If their plans changed before they got to Stagecoach, where were they before hand? Did they tend to change plans on the go, or were they more organized in booking hotels for the route in advance? Was Fallon overnight a sure thing? Was that for March 27?

Thank you! You remember the details far more clearly than I. I wonder whether something like that happened here - with this couple, where someone wanted money and the car they were towing.

After taking a look at the town of Silver Peak off Nivloc Rd on google streetview, doesn’t seem like a great place for a final ping.

Does appear to be some warehouse type outbuildings that could potentially hide an RV sized vehicle.
Seems like the final ping was from a "find my phone" device rather than from their phones being turned on. (Photo taken from a family post on the update for Missing FB page.

Sorry if this has been discussed overnight. I'm just waking up on the East Coast...and catching up. Sad to realize they still have not been located.

ETA Comments from their daughter on FB Missing page assert this info on the last ping was accessed through her parents' home computer. Also states the LE was sort of kind of dragging their feet, but now that media is more heavily involved, they have been more aggressive in their searching.

A 7:15 pm ping on March 27 at Nivloc Road is the most recent information about their location, but the last time they were seen was March 27 at 3:48 pm, 3.5 hours away.

The family update, above, mentions the very last ping at Nivloc Road as an Apple “Find my device”

It could be an iPhone, Apple Watch, an IPad, or other Apple product.

But it sounds like only one item pinging, and it does not mean that they are there, or their trailer or car are at that location.

It’s entirely possible the ping is from items stolen from them.

However, it’s one of the few clues as to their whereabouts and certainly needs on-site LE investigation, ASAP.

Clarification on FB says it was to ping their Apple watch. Certainly a clue for some needed searching.

I don't believe these people would have intentionally turned off of Highway 95 onto Highway 265 to go to Silver Peak.

The road sign before the Coaldale intersection noted "95" and "6", but not 265

The green mileage sign just at the Coaldale intersection gives mileage to Tonopah 41 miles, Ely 208 miles, Las Vegas 248 miles.

Google Maps

It does not mention Silver Peak or Dyer or even Beatty.

If they wanted to stop for the night, Tonopah would have been the logical choice and, and the only logical choice to these people who were traveling staying in KOA facilities, not boondocking. Tonopah also has gas stations, hotels, restaurants, museums and by now they would likely be thinking of re-fueling for the next half of the trip.

I also noticed that in their Missing Persons photo, where they are sitting outdoors, both do appear to be wearing Apple watches. I think they both wore them as personal safety or health monitors, so it's is very ominous that the last ping is a "Find My Device" tracking from one of the two Apple watches they would normally be wearing.
