BREAKING!

Suspect in this doe's murder currently in police custody!

Stay tuned!

if this guy Joseph Naso in fact killed this UID, then his pattern was to kill women whose first and last names had the same letter:

anyone we've discussed have that trait?

Yes, I found out when I was at work. I guess here in Reno on the news they showed this story along with the Doe's original black and white composite drawing.

What I'm interested in is his m.o. and why they think (according to local reports) he could be her killer.

Well, that would mean that she likely had the double letter name and perhaps it even matched with the town. That would certainly narrow the field.

Agreed
He had lived in Sac as well. I'm sure more is going to come out. Was there any DNA or prints ever discussed on this case? They have both on some other cases on him. Still getting thru the pages from the beginning.

Cause technically you could lump Linda louellen in that category of the same initials.

A lot of what was discussed here I have forgotten over the last year. But there are some things that cannot be revealed about this case, I'm sorry. Let's only stick to what's been made known in the thread.

Initial thoughts as I read the opening info. (hope everyone doesn't mind me doing it this way, but I like to so that I'm don't risk being influenced by other posts).

As a dancer, she immediately stands out to me as quite possibly a dancer, likely a ballerina. The weight is very low for the height and was demanded.
The bun is classic dancer style.
The white one piece in "medium" could have been a leotard.
The bruised toe could be from pointe shoes.

Could all be nothing, but there are a lot of things that add up and point that way. Perhaps she was dancing in a show or had come to the area to tryout?

Ok, on to more reading....

Not sure whether I've mentioned her as a possible (probably not because she is much younger than people think the Doe is) but Barbara Barkley has the same initials thing happening and resembles the Doe a little. Circumstances of disappearance don't really support or actively rule out her being this Doe... it would have to be a slightly unusual story since she left her place of work and left her handbag behind over a year before the Doe was found, but not an incredibly unusual one since there was no sign of struggle found at her workplace. Maybe she was pregnant and took off with the father of her child?

I guess before we go too far off on a tangent here with Naso, I have seen nothing where he has been charged with any murders in NV. He happened to have been living in NV when he was picked up last year for a probation violation.

this article has a nice timeline at the bottom which outlines in general where he was living over the years:

It was on a local news station that he is a suspect in the doe's murder and another woman here in town with the same first and last initials. I can't locate anything on their website that says the same thing either.

Sarx, my daughter is a dancer,or was when she was a teen -- and I agree with you on all those points.

Also, if you look at the post-mortem photos in her NAMUS file -- her neck and the bit of her shoulder that's visible look very lean and muscular, also like a dancer.

If she's at the younger end of the age range, she might still have been dancing. At the upper end, she'd be more likely to be running a dance school or something along those lines. Or in a dance revue at one of the casinos. I know they showed her picture and nobody recognized her, but I take that with a grain of salt. The person who murdered her wouldn't admit to knowing her.

You also have to remember the post mortem was only made public fairly recently. The sketches was all they ever circulated at the time.

Is there some significance to that, do you think? Somebody reported him based on the PM photo?

I think the composite really didn't look like her. He was in jail already for probo violation. I guess he had something in his possession or his m.o. Was enough for Washoe county to look at him as a suspect.

The timeline indicates that he was splitting time between Yuba City and Piedmont from 1983-1999. There is no mention of his whereabouts in 1982.

Yuba City is about 125 miles from the Sheep Flats (Mt. Rose Highway) area.
