According to Mayor Christian Bollwage two men found the package in a waste basket on North Broad Street and Julian Place around 9:30 p.m.
The men took the package "because they thought it was of some value," walked for a bit, then saw wires and a pipe, dropped the package and notified Elizabeth Police.
Investigation on 23rd must be wrapping up....

Headed for an airport.....
Following up on surveillance that led to a vehicle of interest, the agents from the FBI and NYPD officers late Sunday night arrested 5 people of Arab descent heading east at around 9:30 p.m. on the Belt Parkway from the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge..
A weapons stash was found in the SUV, which was reportedly headed for the airport, according to NY Daily News.
