Florida Republicans appear to be in a New York state of mind.

At its quarterly meeting in Orlando, The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) will consider a resolution slamming New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

RPOF State Chair Christian Ziegler announced the party will take up the resolution on May 13. He put the vote on the agenda after receiving a petition signed by 30 Republican Executive Committee (REC) members.

Of note, Ziegler has also already condemned Bragg as well, tweeting in March, “Alvin Bragg should be the one who is indicted.”

Wonder if poor storm drenched Fort Lauderdale ever crossed there minds?

He testified against the Trump Org at its Manhattan trial, helping to cinch a conviction in December and $1.6 million fines against the company.

The Trump family real estate company was convicted on all 17 tax fraud charges it faced — thanks in part to Weisselberg’s testimony as the star prosecution witness at trial.

The money man told jurors about how he accepted “off the books” — untaxed — compensation to the tune of $1.7 million from the company, including free rent on a Manhattan pad and tuition payments for his grandkids.

Trump-appointed judge denies Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's request for a temporary restraining order to block enforcement of subpoena issued to Mark F. Pomerantz by the Committee on the Judiciary of the United States House of Representatives.

I bet Trump is not happy about that decision.

iirc, the purpose of the House Judiciary "investigation" is to determine if Bragg's indictment is politically motivated. Pomerantz will help prove that is NOT the case.

I watched his 60-minute interview and he quit the DA's office because of evidence of bank fraud that Trump committed. He over-inflated the values of multiple properties in order to get more favorable bank loans. Bragg's indictment isn't about the bank loans.

@AaronKatersky

The 2nd Circuit issued an administrative stay, temporarily blocking the deposition of Mark Pomerantz before the House Judiciary Committee over the criminal prosecution of former President Trump

3 judge panel time to hear arguments about a stay pending appeal. Briefs due by Saturday

The administrative decision at the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals halts a deposition scheduled Thursday at 10 a.m. at the House Judiciary Committee for Mark Pomerantz, who used to work in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office.

Under the order from court clerk Catherine Wolfe, Bragg must submit his written arguments by 3 p.m. Friday and Jordan must repond by 3 p.m. Saturday, so a three-judge panel of the appeals court can decide the case.

Thanks! It has been an interesting "dance" to watch!

Back in the 80s, DT wanted to set up a casino in Sydney Harbour.
He was one of 4 bidders who competed for the gig.
He was refused because our police were concerned about his mafia links.

Then in the early 90s he wanted to set up a casino in Auckland, New Zealand. They decided he "wasn't the right fit".

Sounds like Australia had the right idea.

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg agreed Friday night to dismiss his appeal of a ruling that allowed a subpoena for testimony about the criminal prosecution of former President Trump. Mark Pomerantz to testify May 12 before House Judiciary Committee

The agreement between Bragg and Rep. Jim Jordan allows a representative from the DA’s office to be present for Pomerantz deposition next month

Yes, I know, I mentioned above that it appears to be legal that he's withholding that information. I just would like to know why.

I think DA Bragg is very smart. He knows that he and his team need to keep their cards close to their chest. Once they start disclosing their evidence, former president Trump's lawyers are going to paper the district attorney's office until they need to lease a warehouse!
FpT gets his money's worth from his tricky lawyers.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office filed a motion this week requesting a judge restrict former President Donald Trump’s access to documents in the criminal case against him, arguing he could misuse those documents or endanger court personnel, following his historic indictment earlier this month.

Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Catherine McCraw asked a judge to impose a protective order barring Trump’s team from posting any discovery materials on social media or using evidence for anything other than Trump’s criminal defense.

McCraw also argued Trump should only be allowed to view evidence while accompanied by his lawyers.

McCraw said Trump has a “longstanding and perhaps singular history of attacking witnesses, investigators, prosecutors, trial jurors, grand jurors, judges and others involved in legal proceedings against him” that put them “and their families at considerable safety risk.”

McCraw also argued there is a “substantial” risk of Trump misusing the materials—following the discovery of classified White House documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate
