Maybe she needs to walk around more to move birth long. That STALL is small, lumpy looking , dirty, uncomfortable. I pity the animal. she is showing great grace ...oh wait that pen is not her choice...
she is being held captive.

The zoo is doing a live chat right now and one of the administrators stated April's water has not broken and there are no signs of active labor.
 
3/14 Evening Update
We remain in a holding pattern. No significant change from this morning or last night, though all signs are still present - suggesting we are at the end of the pregnancy. Slight discharge, swelling, pulsing, etc. Keepers reported that baby is very active this evening. April remains in STELLAr (did you get that snowstorm joke) condition.
We remain under the attack of Snowstorm Stella. All animals are safe and comfortable, keepers remain on site this evening to continue to ensure proper conditions.
Procedures are in place to get the necessary individuals to the site should April begin to birth.
To our local friends; stay safe, stay warm, and rest up for the dig out!

I think she is just bored out of her mind. What is labor - muscles- she needs to move IMO

Why dont they put a pile of high hay so she can like go down easier? In a corner

Finally had to go to sleep this morning, I could have sworn I saw a rat run across the pen...now maybe my eyes were extremely tired, but it did look like something running. I say they need some barn cats! :loveyou::cat:

April has this statue, maniquin challenge down pat tonight! Still as can be. I can just hope tonight is the night! Come on out baby!

A bit late to be crossing those back legs now, April!

Yeah, I could only watch for about 10 minutes. She has the sweetest face though.
 
their animals are really well cared for, sure it isnt their natural setting but it is what is necessary if you want there to be giraffes still in the world.

the stall doesnt look like much but they are perfectly comfortable there.

its also unlikely that you will see any signs of labor before the baby actually starts to come out.
 
All week I've been waiting to hear that she's lost her appetite. That's the big sign I'm waiting on.

The Giraffe Cam was down for a wee bit, now back up for 44 minutes.
Poor April, she looks real tired.
