Let me clarify - I am not saying these names will come out. I am just saying it wouldn't surprise me if they did. If I am not mistaken, Matt Lauer's divorce is back on and I understand they have been a bit estranged. IMO, his wife looks painfully thin and tired. There have been allegations about his cheating for a couple of years now.

At some point, it seems that this would all be too much for Mrs Spitzer (imo). I think it would be hard to be intimate again with a spouse after pictures and stories of this nature came out.

It certainly was hard for my friend who went through this - and she and her husband weren't even living under the microscope like the Spritzers are. However, my friend is glad that she stayed with her husband. However - I have another friend who left her husband after an affair - and she's glad about that.

I guess it all depends on the rest of the relationship between the two married people.

It does all depend on the people and circumstances, etc. My Dad cheated on my Mom several times. She told me that she tried to worked through it but she kept picturing him "with" the other women. My hat's off to the women that can find a way to work through that. I don't think I could.

I might be getting confused, but wasn't his wife going to divorce him when she discovered she was pregnant? If my thinking is correct, maybe, there are many problems in that marriage... Hmmm...

eta: Just saw masterj's post. Didn't Matt marry at a late age? Maybe, there was a reason for it...How many children does he have? They must be really young. He does have kids, doesn't he? I don't think that I am confusing him with someone else...

I think they have three kids and have been married about 10 years. I know she filed for divorce a couple of years ago while pregnant with their third child. This was when a lot of the speculation about his cheating came increased. They reconciled, but rumor has it that one of them has filed again.

Spitzer may well have a sexual addiction. His behavior sounds very similar to the behavior of the friend I have been discussing. Much like drug addiction, people will put anything on the line when they are driven by obsession and compulsion.

Y'know, since Jackie and Lee Pee brought this "new excuse" into our universal language and the larger public arena regarding their "poor, afflicted Scotty", I have to wonder when exactly good old nymphomania and womanizing exited center-stage in terms of infidelity? Yes, it takes all types (and I'm not questioning) in the Intimate Zone: there's high-drive, low-drive, no-drive, snow-drive ... even double-adapter-drive, same-side-drive and foreign-drive - whatever. None of the latter are 'sicknesses'.

But ... when it comes to ES & Sex Addiction ... well, it's like trying to put a baby Grizzly Bear in a Kangaroo Pouch: Aside from the fact it's a bad fit, one eventually cannibalizes the other as the story grows, IMO.

For years the man was on a very public road to "dismiss, reduce and where possible eradicate" prostitution rings - unrelenting in a show-and-tell campaign among high-city-flyers. Those he uncovered, he showed no mercy and took no prisoners. There was, in his retorts and efforts, no excuse ... they wronged, he illuminated it and then he put 'em away. Bust.

To me, this sex-addict stuff it's a rather large load of stale hogwash - which for ES has come in too little and way too late. Mammoth hypocrisy and that's what I think truly stinks... he burnt his own pulpit, badly.

Silda has her reasons for staying. Me? Nano-seconds would take too long for me to consider anything BUT staying. Diff'rent Folks, I guess.
