Sgt. John D'Eredita of the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office told AOL News that Watson's cell phone, a Verizon LG enV3, has been turned on "intermittently" since her disappearance.
"There was at least one attempted abduction that occurred in the area earlier this month," per AOL news reporter
This info, plus the phone being intermittently turned on and off in the area makes it sound like a local.
Have they given a discription of the person(s) who tried to abduct the others?
One call was made on the phone from a heavily wooded area near other residences, said Marshall, who declined to provide details. The phone has since been turned off or is not operating, he said. Authorities are looking at records of Watson's cell phone calls.
Eileen, someone commenting on that story wrote: "Also, the family and police are making it a point that the public not help with the search in any way. They have put up five billboards asking for information, yet refuse to provide any details that could possibly help the public help them. There is much more to this story that will come out in the next few days, and unfortunately, I don't think it will have a happy ending."
It sounds like the locals may sort of suspect what went down.
