Wow, why wasn't THIS picture used in the search for Jennifer?
It is an awesome picture, the best I've seen of her and I have never seen it before. :waitasec:
That's causing me to have Josh Powell flashbacks... not putting out the best pictures. :banghead:

Isn't it beautiful <3

It probably wasn't used, as it didn't fit in with the BS story we were being given :furious:

I still wonder if GR had *help*, whether before, during, or after the fact, from a certain mistress who is obviously completely lacking in morals.

I was thinking of that -- for one thing there was a bit of a problem with vehicles -- whoever killed Jennifer would have had to get her vehicle to the apartments and then get back home somehow. But that was before I realized how close the apartments were to the YMCA. We know he DID get a ride from there back home. Was that planned or coincidental??

Not sure if I'm replying correctly, but I'm giving it a try. Thanks for making me feel welcome, everyone. Right from the beginning, I found it odd that he "found" the phone-after he had contacted the police and gotten them involved. I would think he would have used that app to find the phone before calling them when he was so frantic about Jennifer not being home on time, but certainly not the next day. At that point, everything he did should have been with/through authorities because (not knowing where she was or what could have happened to her) he would not want to risk destroying evidence by dealing with it himself or even risk making himself look suspicious, being that he was the husband and would be the first person to look into. It makes no logical sense. Upon viewing their photos on FB, I got the same impression as many here have...that he seemed to be the center of attention, posed, "fake" and she seemed sad. When I read in the paper that their home was being searched, I thought nothing of it. It seemed an obvious thing to happen to me. Once it was put out there that she might have run off with someone she met online, I thought it sounded unlikely, but in this day and age, a fairly reasonable possibility...except that she's a mom and my gut feeling told me no, she wouldn't have done that. I didn't follow things too closely after that really until I read online about there being a search that was called off (which I thought was odd, but maybe there was a good, unknown reason for it). Then I started following more of what was going on, found out about the 2 FB pages (odd!!!), began discussing things with a few others, found this site and have been viewing for a couple of weeks (I think it's been that long) now. I really, really find it odd that the local news hasn't put more out there...especially while she was missing. I get the feeling that they and a lot of people around here just bought into their runaway theory, so that may very well be the reason for that. When I first read the post about Jennifer's likes/dislikes/eating habits/etc I found that extremely odd, and I wasn't even sure why. I guess it seemed more like a profile one would fill out about themselves rather than important personality/character traits that would be more important and/or noticeable in searching for someone who's missing. All of the theories I've read here are good possibilities. I try to make myself keep an open mind at this point, that anyone could have been involved, but everything I see or hear pertaining to this makes him look questionable to me. I tend to think it's highly likely he is involved with her death and I have even wondered (perhaps someone else thought of this earlier) if perhaps he might have gone with her to "the mall", something happened along the way, etc, etc. As far as I know, we only have his word on what either of them planned to do that morning. I hope that we find out more from officials soon.

The biggest issue in not properly describing Jennifer as a person, specifically as a Sunday school teacher, is that a characteristic like that is precisely what attracts the media, i.e. "Sunday school teacher and mom of three missing". That is how to gain attention and interest in a missing person case and the fact that a missing person org. apparently did not know, or make use of Jennifer's lifestyle in this way is very troubling. Even if GR was not telling her these things about Jennifer, I feel sure her parents would have, if given a chance.

Precisely.

"A Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout Troop leader, knitting teacher who is a devoted mother of 3 goes missing" are descriptions that would have really gotten people out looking. And perhaps have gotten LE more involved immediately.

Most people just assumed she'd run off, I think. Helped along by descriptions of her being depressed and addicted to gaming, and suggestions she may be living in a hippie commune or gambling in a casino somewhere.

However, in CC's defense, she did claim that she reached out to Jenn's parents, and they did not respond. Perhaps they didn't care for the way her attention had shifted from finding Jennifer to defending GR's reputation.

But...as I said before...in all probability she asked GR about things like church, jobs, volunteer activities, good friends -- I mean -- this is what tells you something about a person...and then you take that information and contact people who knew her at church, at her job, to get their thoughts on her state of mind, and where she may have gone. And if she DIDN't ask those pertinent questions, but got hung up on things like eating habits and whether or not she's a morning person...then she did a great disservice to Jennifer.

And...if CC DID ask these questions...and, let's say that GR told her that Jenn didn't go to church...then that would have been an outright lie. She may have not realized it then, but she should certainly realize it now. I do hope if GR did lie to her about that (or other critical isues) that she has taken that information to the police. There would be absolutely no reason for him to lie about her church activities other than trying to steer people in the wrong direction, and keep them away from interviewing her priest and other people at church that would know her, and in whom she might have confided.

The video (thanks for that) helped everyone not from the area see the area and why there are no cameras. Unless the LE speed trap has a mounted camera and were there that day. Did they say if the phone was damaged ...from being thrown? which side of the road if they could tell or estimate if it was thrown from passanger side or driver side? Did they ever say if there were cameras at the Y or in the Y parking lot? Does the route to the Y pass by any banks, gas stations or business that may have cameras in the area? Praying for the family and answers.

As I recall, where the apartments are -- you could tell that's pretty rural. Across the street is a sort of park area, and behind that is a school -- so one way to get to the Y from the apartments (for a pedestrian) would be to cut through that park and the school to Broad Street which is on the other side. So...the school or hospital on Broad street might have cameras. Then Broad street has a couple churches and businesses before you get to the Y.

However, another way to go would be to come down Plymouth road that the apartments are on down to SR 23 (Pleasant Street)-- and that's all pretty much modest residential homes. There's some sort of grocery store or something near the corner, and there's one or two small churches on the way to the Y taking that route.

Hi Bob!

Have you seen/heard anymore regarding those helicopters?:please:

TIA...:seeya:

Yes, speaking of helicopters, i have seen them for weeks now, flying low over the area where she was found! I live in North Norwich, which is just over the other side of the hills from there. Sometimes they come from the north and sometimes they take off from the Norwich airport but they usually fly really low just over the tops of the trees in that area. Usually black and white ones but sometimes theres other color ones too. A couple days ago, a big double engine white one went over that way flying low. There hasnt been any going over since she was located though.

Thanks for that info. Was it a normal thing before Jennifer went missing? Or only since she was missing until she was found? TIA

My first "hint" that the husband might be involved was watching one of the interviews he did (before the body was found). His body language was off, he was saying words, but like a bad actor would say them, my husband noted that when he made statements about Jennifer, his eyes would shift off to the side, yet when discussing other things, he made good eye contact with the interviewer.

Then, in one of the interviews shortly after her body was found (but maybe not ID'd yet), he made an odd statement about Center Road -- along the lines of "that's nowhere near where I've been in the past couple months"

I just found that a wierd thing to say. As if either trying to separate himself from being there, or inferring that it wasn't one of the places he'd searched for her. Odd, since it's just 2 minutes away from where her phone was found.

Well, we do have a couple every now and then, but when she was missing, there were several going over each day until she was found. Havent seen any since she was located. Usually, it is the Army that is flying over on the way to Fort Drum. But these were state police choppers going over to that area where she was found. I do have a question though. Back when the person who knows the person who found her was telling us what he said about finding JR, he mentioned that there was an old blue tub or barrel nearby her body with a tear in it. I got to wondering if anyone thought that maybe that could have been used to move her body and maybe she was in it when it was thrown out there and wildlife may have ripped it open and dragged the body out? Remember that guy that posted on FB to look in barrels? Thats what got me thinking about that blue drum. Could that possibly be why she wasnt found earlier? Someone might have seen that drum and just thought it was typical litter! Something to consider, i guess. I sure hope they can solve this as i dont like the idea of a killer walking around among us. They never did solve that other murder over in Pharsalia from 1999. That was almost in the same exact area!! A 38 yr old guy was found with a bullet in his head. It was judged a homicide but is as yet unsolved. I hope theres not a killer loose in that area! Who knows?

BBM - Good thinking - was the tub there after they found her? If so it might not be what you think.
LE isn't talking so I think it's going to be a while before we know what happened. Hopefully I'm wrong and they have an outcome very soon.

Just posting my moral support for Pob in phoning in the tip. Hope all went well. It's fantastic you have had the opportunity to do something that might help Jennifer's case.

I hope he/she did - you never know what will help.

It's 10:30pm, I start work at 8am. Nobody in my real life knows about my gaming life, so guess I'm gonna be asked many questions tomorrow. I wonder if Jenn hid her online gaming same as me?

Hey Pob, it's slightly unclear but we think Jen's family did know that she was active online - not sure if they knew exactly what she was doing, but it seems like they did find out later. I think a lot of people have online stuff they keep private, or semi-private!

Highly unlikely there is any connection. Serial killers don't take 13 year breaks, they usually stick to 1 gender or type and they don't usually changed their MO either.
I think it's quite obvious there's not a killer running loose. We know exactly where he is.

That happened on One Eye St. About two miles away and was very very likely a drug related execution. Which there has been a few in the area the past few years.

Very sad day yesterday as I'm sure Jennifer was in all of our thoughts more than ever.

One chapter of this has ended, and I hope that another chapter begins today.

The first step of Justice being served.

Exactly! She was an awesome cook based on some of the now hidden FB pictures too!

A mom that all including myself, would have loved to have!

Shame on GR for putting her in his shadow. A paltry jogger (and that's giving him credit, more so a shuffling fast walker - did you all see what he looked like before he started to get off the couch?)

Justice for Jennifer!!!!

BBM

I totally agree!. Shame on him!.

Yes, I did see the before photos of GR. :what:

IMO

I read this, this morning and it seemed fitting.

"Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.”
― Benjamin Franklin

I hope those who were unaffected previously are not ...outraged.

An arrest(s) is/are coming, I feel it. Just trying to be patient.

Justice for Jennifer!

Contrast the different strategies by LPD & CCSO of utilizing community involvement in the missing/murdered ULL student Mickey Shunick Investigation as opposed to the Jennifer Ramsaran case:

Police have new evidence Mickey Shunick case

As the police wisely asked the community to view their security surveillance videos and share any information with the police, a video picture of Mickey Shunick was discovered. The Lafayette Police department is now also looking for drivers and passengers of three vehicles for questioning that were digitally observed on the street that Mickey was last seen on before she disappeared
