well, Im not sure....

He may feel too guilty to murder a regular girl who might be innocent....but a call girl...well, what does she expect...she could be killed at any time...etc...he rationalizes it.

I could be wrong and the guy is a disgusting, gross, pig like Rifkin...but I think he is going to be an outwardly together and charming person.

Ted Bundy was not exactly the brightest of SKs. He was a charming guy but he was out of control and was caught because he was careless.
The brightest SKs are the ones who don't get caught.
Ted Bundy would have been caught a lot sooner in our digital age.
Long Island's SK is methodical, careful and in control, which is why I think he is more dangerous than Rifkin or Bundy..

Hmmmm, If that is the case. That would mean he may be a repeat customer. maybe havin multiple "meetings" with no problems. Then when it is least expected and the girls think they can make a easy date, he can devulge in his ultamate act. Makes sense. Ridgeway did the same thing with a "Few" of his vics. This could mean that SK has been a long time John and has met with possibly up to 50 women since at least 2007 if not longer. Scary!!!!

I'm sorry that you didn't feel heard. It may be more culture shock than people discounting what you have to say.

There are a lot of independent thinkers here. It's what makes us interested in sleuthing in the first place. People constantly question their own results and those of other people. It's not at all a sign of dismissal or disrespect. In fact, if people are engaging with your ideas, you can consider it a compliment.

I'm not speaking for anyone but myself here. I've just been lurking here a long time. This is the most low-key and drama-free message board that I've ever come across. It's a total internet anomaly, as far as I'm concerned, and I feel rather protective of this oasis of truly nice people. If you stick around, I think you'll see it for what it is.

I was pretty sure it wasn't intentional; I figured that, like 99% of us, you're here because you care.

I feel particularly protective of the victims in this case because they have already been so overlooked and marginalized. If they'd been college students or waitresses or anything other than sex workers, this killer probably would have been found by now. It breaks my heart.

Bundy was an escape artist and a criminal genius..he was very much in control for a long time...I don't think he became sloppy...I think his luck ran out...just as our LI Ripper will run out of luck.

The LI ripper really hasn't really eluded police for that long, being that we only recently became aware of him...

there are way more oppourtunities to make mistakes now...easier to hide back in the day...no electric footprints...trusting shiny young people everywhere...

It really is so sad. When Chemcopout wrote about what they said on CNN, about the LE's response time w/ Shannan and not taking Melissa's family seriously it just made me so sad....and angry. Grrrr.

To me Bundy did seem to be losing control in FL.....but he certainly was an escape artist and smart. He took advantage of the fact that LE, back then, didn't communicate well with each other. Different states, departments, really didn't talk much. And computers made a world of difference. Can you imagine having all the info in paper files. Overwhelming.

I'll chime in bc I regularly use the term, "vics" (victims) as well as "unsub (unknown subject) and "perp" (perpetrator). I do apologize that my use of those terms may feel glib. It is certainly not intended. However that this has been brought to light, I will exercise care in the future.
