Byrd was arrested in 1998 after his own son was hospitalized with a fractured skull, broken ribs, a broken wrist and perferated liver. He was charged with reckless endangerment after a number of inconsistaces in his story. This time, he remains in custody, has asked for a lawyer and is not talking. But Marc's mother is supporting him.

"Marc and him had a good relationship," Christina Bookal said. "I'm not a stupid mother." ~ end snip ~

Yeah, right......

I didn't even want to come and read about this case. I just can't take it anymore with these so call mothers...Like someone said here-the mother should be held accountable.

Where was CPS????

I agree - where was CPS and where was the boy's biodad? Did biodad have visitation? Did he exercise his right to visitation? If he did, why didn't he know that the boyfriend was watching the child? Why didn't he raise hell? Biodad knew the guy was dangerous - why was this child left in the home with these two? And I include the mother - she knows the dude is dangerous also.... No excuses here. If this child has been harmed, I think BF, mom, biodad and CPS should all face charges!

OK, here we go again. Why do mothers continue to leave their precious children with boyfriends/caretakers that are unsafe or with criminal records? And why do they keep on defending these men???? It happens over and over. The child had been abused previously, and the boyfriend has some kind of past criminal history with child abuse. WHY do women continue to do this? Please, God, have it such that he really did just walk away, but my gut feeling is that's not what happened. :(

[bbm]

I'll hazard a guess ... 'cause they shouldn't be egg-donors to begin with

:furious::furious:

CPS should also be charged with something. Its outrageuos to let this poor little boy back in the care of these 2. OMG.

Where are the grandparents...Did they not see this boys injuries a few months ago..

This mother shows no emotion at all for this child. She should have let him be with the father. But she probably wanted the child support.

I agree trigger!

You know, looking at this boy's picture, he sure doesn't look 4. Looks more like 2.5 to 3 years old. I wonder if it is an old picture? Maybe they didn't have anything more current?

This just makes me sick. Said he didn't go to school cause he had a stomachache. I'll bet he did-probably from being beat in the stomach and everywhere else. This reminds me of a case here last year or recently where a poor 6 yo boy died and I remember this so clearly and painfully, the sob bf kept the boy home from school so he could beat him some more that day. When I heard the part about stomachache and school it made me think back. She's not a stupid mom....well, I beg to differ. Someone on that news comments said it best...this child is gone. Just where did he put him?????

I agree, that's exactly what I was thinking, he looks 2 or 3. Poor lil boy.

i just caught nancy grace...
did anyone else notice how shift the mom's eyes were when she was speaking?
what does the eyes and lying blog say? (forget the name) when people look off tp the left, they're recalling memories, looking up they're recalling painful memories, looking down they're feeling guilt, and looking off to the right mean they're lying??? i noticed that when nancy was asking her about the relationship with the boy and step dad, she kept looking off to the right as she was saying how great of a relationship they had and when she spoke about the baby choking on a jolly rancher..
idk, WHO gives a 1 year old a jolly rancher??? i won't even give themt o my 3 y/o.
and when my younger kids would choke, my first thought isn't to do the heimlich maneuver... it's to hold them over my knee (or hold the baby on a downwards angle) and gently slap their back...

Hoping this angel is found today.....so sick of egg and sperm givers killing their kids like its nothing.

Ok, I was hoping that this poor little boy would have been found overnight, but guess that did not happen. Well where is his body? The SOB BF knows. The child was probably abused the day before, and had to be kept out of school. Either something happened from that session, or he (I hate to say it) died from it, or more abuse occurred later. Who actually was the last person to see the boy alive and well? And when exactly? The mother (if you want to call her that - she does not deserve the title) is a moron, defending that convicted abuser over her own precious child, and letting him "take care" of him! I am so upset with this case.
When will these stupid mothers STOP being so desperate for a man that they let these criminals/abusers live with them and their children????
By now, little Marc would have been found had he been wandering around the neighborhood, if that was the case. I hope today LE searches the entire house's cubbyholes, and the abandoned homes in the area. Take the poor innocent little boy out of the cold.:furious:

Hi SM. This case reminded me of Robert Manwill. Poor little guy! I hope they find him soon.

They need to make a law that bans child abusers from being around children again.

:banghead::banghead::banghead:Awwwwww......:banghead::banghead::furious::furious::furious:

Just sickning to think of what might have happened

when did this little boy go "missing"...or when did this jerk do something to him??

I read that there are various "abandoned" buildings in the area....and yes, the dumpsters....OMG

Most apartments in Newburgh don't have dumpsters. The trash is left on the sidewalks and the garbage men pick it up from there . I

Well, there sort of is - it is called "conditions of parole", of which this low-life BF was under, that is why he was arrested on violation of his parole. I want to know - did his PO come to his residence and ever see he was living with children in the home? Did children's services visit the home and see that a convicted abuser was living there? Apparently, he was able to live there - I don't know how long, without any social/parole services knowing. WTH?? How many more children do we have to loose before something is done?:furious:

How does a child get a fractured skull from choking on a Jolly Rancher?
Right

Just checking in this morning to see if Marc had been found.

Praying for Marc and all who love him.

They took the boyfriend/step-dad into custody real quick. I've never seen that in other cases where a child potentially just walked out of the house (remember the beginning of Shaniya Davis's case?). I'd say that is very telling. Seems like the are suspecting him -- just like the rest of us -- and wanted to scoop him up before he could run anywhere.

ITA!!!

With his past, they wanted to make sure he didn't run.
I'm sure they suspected him from the time they got the call.
Now, they just need to find this baby and get all the evidence gathered they can.

I agree, the first thing I thought of was when they arrested Casey Anthony for neglect.
