Four Years Later Search For Missing Boy, Patrick Alford, May Be Heating Up

A seven-year-old boy disappeared never to be heard from again but his family refused to stop looking for him.

Now, four years after the boy vanished the NYPD said that the case is heating up.

[snip]

Lead after lead went nowhere but four years later the NYPD said that the effort to find Patrick has not wavered.

“There’s no such thing as running out of things to do. You will reinterview people, you will go back to certain areas because every day information changes,” Zimmerman said.

[snip]

Now, Zimmerman said that there is reason for hope.

“Without getting too detailed we are making progress,” he said.

Been thinking about Patrick.

Hope you will be home soon, young man!

Sometimes you never forget little boys who capture your heart...and :bump:for all the possibilities out there. Keeping the light...buddy. Patrick Alford.

Tricia's request posted asking for help for Adji and Hassani got me thinking of Patrick.
Reviewing the last few pages got me wondering. Were there any other children residing in the same foster care residence as Patrick at the time he went missing? If so, were they interviewed? Those kids are much older now. I wonder..... if they were afraid to talk then, what about now? There is still a 12,000 reward wtih this case.
Praying answers come soon.

Not a new age-enhancement, but good to see Patrick getting some coverage. Missing 5 years tomorrow. :(

Police to comb south Brooklyn, Staten Island in search of Patrick Alford, a troubled young boy who vanished 5 years ago

The NYPD will distribute flyers in English and Spanish bearing photos of what child looked like in 2010 and an 'age-progression photo' of what he may look like at age 12. Authorities hope someone who has stayed silent since 2010 will finally come forward.

Dozens of police officers will fan-out Thursday across south Brooklyn and Staten Island seeking clues to a mystery that has bedeviled investigators for five years — the disappearance of a troubled young boy named Patrick Alford.

[snip]

Because stranger abductions are so rare, police first focused their investigation on Rodriguez and her family. Their suspicions grew when a K-9 unit followed Patrick's scent from Moran's apartment to the Belt Parkway.

Cop leading search for missing Patrick Alford pleads for boy to call 911: 'We'll come and get you'

The cop who has been leading the five-year search for Patrick Alford made a direct plea Thursday to the missing Staten Island boy — it’s time to come home.

“Patrick, if your are listening or watching this, please call 911 wherever you are,” Lt. Christopher Zimmerman told the assembled TV cameras in front of Brooklyn housing project where Patrick was last seen.

“Please, if you hear me Patrick, call 911 wherever you are. We’ll come and get you.”

[snip]

Zimmerman said the most recent lead they got about the boy’s whereabouts was last year and now they are “shaking the tree.” He reminded the public that there is a $12,000 reward for information that could lead to finding Patrick.

“This case will remain and active missing case, until we find him,” he said. “This will never be a closed case.”

“I strongly believe that Patrick is alive and out there,” he said.

Guest column: Police hope for new clues in search for Patrick Alford

Patrick Alford was a 7-year-old boy who went missing on Jan. 22, 2010, from his foster home in Brooklyn.

His age alone draws our attention because we view him as vulnerable. Most of us in policing, especially in missing persons cases, know that not only is there a humane effort to find this person, but we understand the significant threat of someone that young becoming a target of a predatory type.

[snip]

He doesn’t have to be my own son for me to care. I want to find him healthy, protect him, and put him in a safe home.
