I just truly hope police have an idea of what actually happened and know that no one else is in danger. Unless they know who it is, which I don't think they do, they need to release vehicle info and a timeline so businesses can pull cctv and the people in the area can be on alert. Glad she is alive and safe.

I know some camera's automatically record over old footage. So if in case this is true, theres some time related issues, even though I recall this being a very wooded area

Sahray Barber threw her laptop and backpack into some bushes and ran away because she was feeling "stressed". The area she disappeared from had recent attempted abductions and caused the whole town to pour their hearts, money and resources to find her when she even saw herself on tv and chose not to phone home until someone caught her at a shelter. Now they plan to bring charges against her.

Hayley Turner did the same and was charged, never showed any remorse, and she was found in worse condition (presumably from what MSM has said) than Rachael.

Also, AH saw Kibby's name in a cookbook and was able to describe him. Thats one reason they caught him.

So if Rachael been gone for 2 weeks and cannot (or will not) provide any information on the abductor, it reeks of hinky to me.

My hope is they know who did it and that is why there is no manhunt, no Bolo, no nothing, but if they don't and there is no search, what does that say?

If Rachel "ran away", how would LE have missed finding her? They had her phone/social media. Contacted and interviewed her friends, family and associates. Seems like it would be difficult to hide someone with LE interviewing you. If she left on her own, how did she manage to walk over 30 miles along a mostly isolated stretch of highway without anyone seeing her?

Someone had to drive her out of the vacation camp, and it seems it would have to be someone LE hadn't interviewed during her disappearance. Or they were a very good liar.

Wouldn't that the the public at risk if she had no relation to this person? Would't the public be benefited to know if a monster is lurking around the corner?

In this day and age she could have ran off with someone that she communicated with via another means, even a burner phone. KIK is also very hard to trace as per the Nicole Lovell case.

Well, certainly the fake pregnancy case falls under HIPAA. *If* she actually has a diagnosis of a mental disorder, then yes, likely protected. If she does not have a diagnosed mental disorder, was just stressed out, on a drug binge or a hookup, or simply wanted away for awhile, then that is likely fair game for a FOIA request.

If she has a mental disorder would she have been released from the hospital so quickly? Or would they hold her for psychiatric evaluation?

Although it's been widely reported that doors were open, keys were in the ignition, purse and phone were in the car, I've also seen at least one report that her father waited for her a bit and reported her missing later when she didn't show up (implying nothing about the scene was disturbing). LE has been quoted repeatedly as saying there was no sign of foul play and nothing looked out of the ordinary.

I may have missed something where the reports of doors open, etc., was attributed to someone specifically, but given the different reports I don't think we can necessarily assume that her phone was left behind. The stories changed a lot early on, and this could very well be misreporting.

I think their right to put things back together trumps our right to nosiness. id love to know what happened, but im not going to stomp my feet and have a fit if I don't.

Yes.....family and friends beg for attention to be focused on their loved one who is missing......please pray.....pass out fliers.....search high and low.....invest time and energy and emotions to help. Then, miracles do happen! The missing is no longer missing! Safe and healthy and HOME!

Friends and family.....see ya.....we want our privacy, now. Loved one was abducted and held against her will. Description of perp? What?? How insensitive! Never mind that someone who abducts and hold a person hostage is dangerous! Our loved one is safe. You're on your own!

I bet we never hear another word about this case.....

im not really sure if or why anyone is mad at this person, if she didn't even know she had been reported missing. if she was a grown woman on her day off and decoded to take off for a few days of sex, whose business is it? if she didn't know, then no one should be mad.

There was another case in California or Vegas where a woman hooked up with some guy and was too *cough* busy to contact anyone for several days. She was very surprised to come home to missing posters.

I've googled, but can't find this one and Idon't remember her name. Anyone else remember this case?

Mmmm... the one I'm thinking of was single, but same story, family said she would never be out of touch, they talked multiple times a day, she wouldn't skip work, reliable, blah,blah,blah. Not sure if I'm remembering right, but I think they found her car in some parking lot? She turned up about a week later. I dunno, maybe I'm mixed up. I'll do some more searching.
