They cannot confirm that the escapees have been "cornered." Only NYDN source said they were.

Mine are all coming from the television - the live feed is available at twcnews.com - they said on tv it's available to everyone everywherre, login requirements are temporarily suspended throughout this incident. I'll try to edit that link into everything but i'm not sure that transcripts of everything will be available.. is this alright?

Right now there's no new news going on and since it's 5:30 they're doing regular segments of weather, sports, and other news and probabl;y will throughout the 6pm segment as well unless something happens they can consider "breaking news" but I'll be watching twcnews.com on tv and updating where appropriate. That being the case I can't keep an eye on cnn who is also covering it so hopefully someone else can do that.

Breaking news on twcnews.com on tv - "state police confirming" this search in Willsboro IS connected to these two escaped convicts. Local guy on the scene now... heard yelling inside hte treeline then emerged dozens of officers shoulder to shoulder, walked slowly up that field, that cow pasture we told you about (quoting) ... officers in helmets, bulletproof vests, high powered rifles, this is very much intensified in the past few moments... LE confirmed this is a "grid style push/hunt operation"...

"Trying to push the suspect out of the wooods they have been reported sighted in.. again this was a civilian sighting overnight"... "unmarked, marked, state, federal LE"... "at least at this point there's no indication they have found anyone or any clues have been recovered in this search which, at least a portion of it, has just been completed" - source: live TWC News, 5:33pm approx eastern.

This is what I don't get. They are searching this area because of a reported sighting. The speculation is a car was not there to pick them up so they're on foot. If that's what happened why couldn't the dogs pick up their scent?

Regarding the sighting…If I'm an escaped convict wouldn't I see vehicle headlights and lay down or whatever before the driver of a vehicle could see me, at night in the pouring rain?

TWCnews.com is my source for this statement: They said a cop saw a car's headlights driving on the road and the car veered off hte road and turned off it's lights when he approached, so this was "obviously" a suspicious situation (news guy's wording) and the cop got out and spotted them as they ran into the woods and this has all gone from there. One article stated that they broke into a residence and stole a gun. That article was posted by someone else on page 9 of this thread IIRC.

They had a few state police at the Vermont side of the Champlain Bridge in Bridport today. We went to get creemees during the brief period of sun between storms. There is an unmarked state green suv parked there about 70% of the time usually, today the suv was there along with one other marked vehicle, and then another was one was parked kind of around the corner on 22a headed into Addison, VT

"a resident there saw these two men along route 22n and when their car got closer to them it appeared they darted into the woods, so some suspicious behavior there" - TWCNews just now, which is NOT the same thing we heard earlier from another anchor who is on location so take this with a grain of salt. SOMEONE saw them go into the woods from inside their vehicle last night.
