I wonder if Tillie bought them a burner phone? That would give them all the freedom they needed. I am sure they have ex-con pals on the outside to do their bidding.

These two are no dummies - I think they are long gone - too many smart facts about the escape are coming out now.

Just wondering - someone mentioned that they made uniforms in the tailoring work, so could they have made a uniform of a guard or a railroad worker to get out and made their way to Canadian border by jumping aboard a train? I have a feeling that once they have no use for each other that only one will survive because the other does not want /trust that the other will remain tight lipped.

Aww. This warms my cold black heart. I'll bet LE really appreciates kind gestures like this from the community.

After nine days, authorities will be expanding their search further east on Sunday.

Authorities said they were expanding their search in the manhunt for two escaped killers who continue to elude hundreds of police officers searching woodland in upstate New York.
Police have been focusing on an area southeast of the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, and said that area would be expanded further east Sunday — the ninth day of the manhunt.
Police said they would continue searching along Route 374, which remains closed between General Leroy Manor Road and Rand Hill Road, while the search would expand toward the east side of Trudeau Road.

Was the manhole exit at or near a power station? I think that they duped her. No way were they going to escape with a 51 yr old woman as a liability. Her car would have been spotted within hours. So the 7 hour drive is maybe what they told her, but I hope LE is not relying on that. I think they had cell phones. She didn't back out when she had an epiphany about loving her husband....she was ditched, big time. JMO

I saw the 7 hours as the time between the last time they were seen at the 10:30 bed check and then when they were missing at 5:30, I took it to mean they were looking at a 7 hour head start.

NY fugitives planned to be 7 hours away from prison after escape, district attorney says

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/06/1...hours-away-from-prison-after-escape-district/

"They were planning on driving approximately seven hours away in a wooded area where her vehicle would be needed-- a four wheel drive jeep," Wylie says.

Elley Right. I forgot about the time it would take for them to be discovered to be missing. Surely LE has inspected her car. Wonder if they found her packed bags, LOL. JMO

I'm several pages behind because I was out yesterday and then have been sleeping a few hours. Just woke to see arecorded interview on TWCNews with an officer who said Tillie's plan was to drive the men someplace 7 hours away, and she chickened out because "She didn't want to hurt her husband."

Not because "she realied what a monumental mistake she had made" or "didn't want any innocent people to get hurt". She just didn't want to upset Lyle.

They were last seen at 10:30 PM; are we even sure of that? When did this woman show up at the hospital and what was her alibi in the interim? This may have been mentioned before but how do we know that she didn't pick them up and drive them to a second transporter then run to the hospital to establish an alibi? I think it's possible they could have popped up the manhole by 11PM.

For those asking how can she both admit guilt and plead not guilty, that's how it works IMO. The arraignment you plead not guilty so that you get a chance in hell of pleading down the charges. Almost everyone pleads not guilty at arraignment, plenty switch to guilty when trial/court actually comes, AFTER their lawyer meets with the DA and they hopefully (hopefully for the person going to jail I mean) manage to work a deal for lesser charges if one does plead guilty. BBM What about her son? :what:

JMO - if the plan was to have her DRIVE them 7 hours, they weren't planning to cross any international borders. JMO.

""That was the information that she was told by Matt and Sweat -- that it was about seven hours away," Wylie said.

But she had a change of heart.

"Joyce Mitchell ditched the plan to pick up the two inmates partly because she loves her husband and she didn't want to do this to him," Wylie said.

He said he reviewed documents from investigators, and it appears Mitchell and the prisoners rehearsed their plan.

"From interviews with other inmates, there is an indication the two convicts had cell phones before they escaped," he said. "But we have no proof of these cell phones." "

I wonder if they are still together, I think they would have separated, or one kill the other, this many days out they could be anywhere, getting more deserate as time goes on

I'm shocked at what was going on in this prison, are people not paid to watch what is going on, where was Tilley getting it on with these killers, the prison officials already knew that Tilley had inappropriate relations with prisoners, they never should have allowed Tilley any one on one time with any prisoner. It's crazy to allow a security risk around such high risk prisoners

I think that when they forensically look at the cutting on the wall they will be able to tell if it was cut from inside the cell or from inside the wall. If it was cut from inside the cell how did this go unnoticed, no guard ever heard or noticed anything

Reportedly, she was led to believe that she would be accompanying them to their destination. JMO
