Did I miss something? When did Matt hurt his leg? I thought it was Sweat that was on meds for a bad back.

The hurt angle came from the sighting- when they ran from a vehicle in the rain. Those folks stated one of them were limping.....................

I keep thinking that they were picked up at the mobil station on the main highway, or hijacked someone there, but that doesn't explain the bedding and candy wrappers in the woods. Picked up is more likely, as we have heard no reports of missing cars or people. Stopping in there was pretty risky IMO without a plan to do anything but stay on foot. JMO. Just heard DA presser later today....CNN

"Clinton County Sheriff David Favro said Tuesday that rain has been washing away any scent dogs might find and interfering with thermal imaging devices being used to detect body heat." Well, I guess that explains why they haven't found them IF they're still in that area (or have been recently)

This article mentions a fact that we need to remember -- search dogs DID find the scent of both guys in the area near the prison -- NOT sounding like they were picked up by an accomplice as soon as they stepped out of the manhole.

I think they worded the scent-possibly detected a scent. I do not think they were stupid enough to hangout anywhere near the area. But maybe I'm wrong!

I found Dexter Morgan's comment that the freight train would be the fastest way out of the area-thread two-and Abigail you replied ! But I don't know how to bring it over here.

Here's the problem I have. The article is referring to Wednesday or Thursday regarding dogs and scent. Why no Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday if they were in the area. Doesn't it seem odd that dogs did not pick up a scent at their supposed exit?

and if the dogs did actually have their scent in the woods they would have been pretty close. Did they ever say who's scent…both or one of them? Dogs are amazing but not always 100%

and if they had their scent at the Subway, there supposedly were cameras there and we know they weren't caught on camera or we'd know about it.

It could depend on the quality of dog as well regarding no scent on day one.

There is certainly a lot to wonder about in this case.

I think the rain has hampered the dogs with scent

Hoping todays Presser gives us some concrete fact to go on. Until then I guess at this point I shall go with the K.I.S.S. theory. They are either in that forest or not lol

Interesting about dogs...

RE: New Britain, CT serial killer case

Someone stumbles upon human remains on the surface in the woods. Police search turn up remains from 3 or 4 persons. Police continue to search these woods on and off for several years with and with out cadaver dogs and they find nothing else but highly suspect there are more remains in these woods.

A request for an FBI cadaver dog is made and it takes a year to get this dog. Long story short remains are found from 4 more people very quickly.

Though not related to this escape, I just thought this was very interesting about dogs.

Authorities didn’t know until 5:30 a.m. Saturday that this dangerous pair had busted out of the Clinton Correctional Facility. That’s about five hours after the pair in Dannemora saw the men in the backyard, one of them with a buzz cut, wearing a white T-shirt and carrying what appeared to be a guitar case over his shoulder.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officials swarmed Willsboro, a town of about 2,000 near Lake Champlain, after a sighting of two men on foot late Monday or early Tuesday near Middle Road, a rural road at the southern end of the town.

The search was prompted by someone who spotted two "suspicious men" walking down a road in Willsboro in the middle of a "driving rainstorm" overnight "in an area that's all ... large farms and fields and wooded lots," Town Supervisor Shaun Gillilland said. As the citizen's car approached them, they took off.

So the sighting in the back yard the night they escaped and the supposed sighting late monday early tuesday in willsboro is all that has been seen of them? I am not believing the willsboro sighting, jmo that makes the last sighting for me just after midnight. jmo idk I am not sure how long before these two are caught.

What forensic evidence have they found on the food wrappers in the woods where they say their scent was picked up?

They have not disclosed any forensic results on the wrappers. If they know they aren't telling us. Only thing i have read is the snack was consistent with something from the Prison.

I googled the Mobil station hours.... 4am to midnight. It is only about a mile from the prison and Bouck St. They would have had about 4 hours to riffle through dumpsters or whatever they were doing, but there wouldn't have been customers there and probably not owners or clerks. Just surveillance cameras.....which probably don't cover the whole area. I think if it was pre-planned, it would have been easy for them to slip out of town from there, without being noticed. They must have walked there from where they emerged, and were trying to stay off the road which is why they were seen in the witnesses backyard around 12:30 (?) JMO

I told my friend last evening that there are lots of people living in woods, in fact I know a place less then a mile from a correctional facility in a wooded section at an exit ramp, people have been living there for years because there is a stream running through it. Anyway, There was nothing concrete about what they found in the woods. jmo idk I don't think that sweat/matt would leave a trail either. jmo idk

They could have hitch hiked -one went one way and the other went another way. I just heard LE is now focusing on the tips. Omg wth?

ITA. Would they sit for hours waiting for Tillie? No way..

And the maps they left behind-if the circled a direction -east, they probably went west!

CPaul - is there a thread on websleuths for this sk? Do they think the sk is Bobby Durst?

Right, Elley. I don't think that bedding down and eating candy for the evening was on the agenda. They were bound and determined to get out of Dodge!!!! I think they succeeded. JMO

In my opinion, Matt and Sweat are not together. I think it would be much harder for 2 of them to blend in anywhere...as it seems most people are looking for a 2 people. Also, I don't imagine these 2 as BFF's, rather they used each other as a means to an end.
As for the railroad angle, correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a whole sub-culture of people who ride the rails? I hope LE has tried to get the info and pictures out there to that sub-culture as I am sure one of them would be happy to give up these 2 for $100,000.

Regarding the Adirondacks....there are infinite places to hide!! Ugh. So many trails heads, lean-to's, empty cabins, tree-stands, hunting cabins and isolated areas. There is just a plethora of places to go undetected! Uhh... I wonder if they have checked Israel Keyes old cabin in Constable, just 40 miles away (that just occurred to me).

Also, if they carried a tent in the guitar case they would probably be all set for a good long while. Interesting that they chose this time of year to escape, when the Adirondack's are not quite yet populated with summer folks yet warm enough to easily survive outside.

Those are just some of my thoughts...more to come, I'm sure!

It happens all the time... Many early reports, sighting, etc., especially in high profile events turn out to be inaccurate or wrong.

I don't think we'll have to worry about the movie being inaccurate this has been so crazy there will be no need to make anything up.
