OK, so back to the google map -- and when you go satellite view, you can see that the power lines come up from the bottom of Chazy Lake and then over to Lyon Mountain and Standish. I couldn't find any roads in that territory between the prison and the southern tip of Chazy Lake, just deep forest -- so, they must have been following stream beds or deer runs to get to that point? That would have been QUITE the hike, esp. with minimal provisions.

that was allegany county. the cabin was a male from what I've read.

Anyone else reading on twitter (not from confirmed source) that weapons and camo clothing missing from the cabin?

Even though both could have been in that cabin at one point we dont know if maybe Matt left a few days prior and maybe they split up by now.

The witness only seeing 1 run out has me thinking Matt was gone already for a few days at least.

Maybe Sweat couldnt keep moving on his sore feet and decided to stay and heal up. He waited a little too long it seems. They are hot on his trail now.
IMO I think Matt got a few days head start. On foot though he still wont be too far unless he hopped a train or got a vehicle.

One thing for sure is they are definitely going to break into places for supplies. Anybody who has a place in that area needs to be ready for self defense and protection.

No railroad tracks in that area. If Matt left earlier, he'd either be on foot, or in some sort of stolen vehicle. They may have been together and then one had stepped out of the shack to go pee or get water or go fishing or something -- in which case, they're probably split up but in same area. Wonder if they've acquired any firearms in those hunting cabins?

This guest on CNN is mischaracterizing the cabin. He's talking about when he was in upstate NY recently he was driving past all these vacation homes that arent abandoned, they're seasonal homes.

Well, that doesn't matter because it's been said in MSM already that the cabin IS a HUNTING CABIN IN THE WOODS FAR FROM ANY ROAD.

I've camped out in the woods quite a bit in years past and the thing that will give them the most trouble will be the black flies as those hurt like heck. Ticks are no big deal. You just pluck them off and they dont hurt. Mosquitos can get bad too if sweating a lot.

But I bet they found some mosquito repellent in the cabin. That is usually kept at most cabins as people always want to leave a supply at their cabins. So they may be not bothered by the bugs.

Article has it right (cabin about 20 miles from prison) -- it was the other (probalby false) sighting in Friendship , NY that was 260 miles away

It was unconfirmed though deemed credible by LE. Now it's thought to be certain it was not them though as per a commentor on CNN a minute ago. They confirmed DNA was found at the cabin and one man was seen running from it which all happened on Saturday up there by the prison while the sighting was supposedly happening simultaneously IIRC in Friendship.

Those upscale seasonal homes are more down in the Catskills or the southern part of the Adirondecks -- folks from NYC, Albany, etc. go up there on weekends. The northern part of the Adiorondecks take a long time to get to...unless you live way up there by the Canadian border somewhere.

There are 2 different "sightings" you are describing. The 1 recent one 20 miles from the prison is the new "hot zone" for just 1 of them were seen running out a cabin as the owner checked on it.

The other 1 was an alleged sighting of 2 people near PA border which could also be true if Matt had split up with Sweat and found someone else to walk with like from the Railroad or something.

IMO I am not sure I believe the PA border sighting one yet as it may have just been 2 hikers.

The new one 20 miles away is sounding like Sweat for sure. Bloody socks and all + prison underwear. The witness only saw 1 but its still possible Matt ran off too and the guy just didnt see him. So Matt is the big mystery right now if he is with Sweat or not.

JMO I think Matt left him a few days prior if not more.
