Both Dayton and El Paso wore hearing protection. Delicate ear drums.
Whenever I go target shooting I HAVE to wear earplugs and headphones. It is so loud and disorienting if not. I would think it would be much harder to concentrate without them on. Which is sick to think of in a situation involving humans. But I think this may be the case other than the fact that they don't want to hurt their own eardrums because they only care about themselves.

It is possible that he had been sitting with his sister and their friend, got up and went to the car for the gun and body armor, and when he returned the sister saw him and tried to stop him, and that is when he shot her.

I understand that but what other mass shooters have worn ear protection? Maybe we just didn't hear about it?

How do you know they didn't take the matters seriously?
What's to say that they weren't 'fooled' by his improvements after therapy?

Very true, and people with mental health issues, or, who are just plane old evil, get pretty good at looking normal, when they need to. I always go back to Ted Bundy. Looking at the outside, folks had no idea, what was going on, on the inside. There will be "flags" that folks close to him, will take note of, and see, in hindsight, with this guy, but hindsight is always 20/20.

I've not had a lot of time to keep up with this one today, but it seems that it was tit for tat this time. TX was a RWE, and OH, a LWE. Extremism, in anything, (politics, religion, animal rights, etc...), should not be taken lightly. Most extremists are harmless, disgruntled, keyboard warriors, with an "agenda" to promote, or feel they're saving the world from the "evil" out there, but any threats of violence should be taken very seriously.

The handcuffing is part of police protocol. They even handcuff death row convicts after they are executed.

I never knew that. Interesting. Cuffed in death...I wonder why exactly?

OMG, 8chan was right. I don't advise anyone going there though. There are things you can never unsee. I wanted to see if they were cheering the shooter, but they were not kind to him.

8chan Is a Megaphone for Gunmen. ‘Shut the Site Down,’ Says Its Creator.

“In recent months, 8chan has become a go-to resource for violent extremists. At least three mass shootings this year — including the mosque killings in Christchurch, New Zealand, and the synagogue shooting in Poway, Calif. — have been announced in advance on the site, often accompanied by racist writings that seem engineered to go viral on the internet.“

8chan has become a meeting place for 'extremist hate.' The founder says it's time to shut it down

“After a third mass shooting in 2019 has been linked to the imageboard, even he wants it to end.

“Shut the site down,” Brennan told the New York Times on Sunday. “It’s not doing the world any good. It’s a complete negative to everybody except the users that are there. And you know what? It’s a negative to them, too. They just don’t realize it.”“

El Paso Murder Spree Renews Spotlight on 8chan Online Forum
Patrick Crusius allegedly posted on the same message board as New Zealand mosque suspect

“The message board, known as 8chan, was founded in 2013 as a no-holds-barred bastion of unconstrained speech devoted to critiquing what its creator saw as the dominance of left-wing views in culture and politics. It is available on the open internet, though it is often blocked by corporate firewalls and isn’t indexed by Google’s search engine.”

I guess there's always the risk, since they aren't able to pronounce them dead until EMS calls and confirms with a doctor.
On the note of death row inmates, doctors aren't allowed to perform executions, so anything could go wrong (even an inmate miraculously surviving an execution, it's happened more times than you'd like to believe).

Edit: Also want to add, what do people think shutting down 8chan is going to do? All the users will just move to more secretive forums on the dark web, making them feel more isolated and like a victimized, minority group.
That's a large factor in why we have so many killers in the last 5 or so years who have identified as incels. They feel the world hates them so they should retaliate.
I wouldn't be surprised if the shooter was a part of some of these hate groups.
MOO

(I’m getting to the point in here that I’m starting to confuse my own posts between the two shooting threads today, crossposting in the wrong threads...I think I’ll give it a rest for a bit. Brain has turned to mush.)
